She's generally but in the year that we have had her she has bad seperation anxiety from her previous owner and with our busy schedule between my wife running her own buisness expecting a new baby here in a few months and my busy schedule we dont have time to give her the attention or training she needs. Is crate trained but is very anxious in cars and wont leave anyone alone she wants to be with you 24/7. Pretty good with kids but best with older kids had not been that great with our 4 year old.

Story
Bolt is a brilliant, high-energy 3yo (stray till 9mo). He is retiring from Service Dog training and needs a dedicated home. He is rock-solid in public: no pulling, barking, or reacting. He is fully task-trained (DPT, stability, mobility) and a "quiet ghost" in stores/restaurants. He loves tug and pets from his favorite people. The Challenge: Despite 2yrs of elite training, Bolt has a persistent indoor marking habit. This behavior is deeply ingrained from his time as a stray. He cannot have free roam of a house. He requires strict management (crate, tethering, or learning belly bands) or a home with a yard/floors where this isn't a dealbreaker. He is not currently used to belly bands and will need training for them. Included: 2 crates, food containers, toys, 1 month of food, and a whole lot of enzyme cleaner. Ideal Home: An active owner who understands working breeds and structure. He is a world-class companion for the right person!

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Fizzlepop! He's another dog that was pulled into our foster program when our local shelter had to evacuate due to flooding. The foster family thought he was such an amazing boy - they asked to keep him as a Save-A-Mutt dog! Fizzle came in as a stray and nobody claimed him. He looks bigger than he is - at just over 50# he's a very nice size. But - what the heck is he. Cattle dog maybe, with a shepherd or husky? He's stuffing, his red coat and unique markings. Fizzle is probably around 18 months old and living in a home with other dogs. He's respectful of new dogs that he meets, but is active and enjoys play! The foster family has been introducing him to walks - he's just so smart and eager to learn. He is loose in house and is housebroken. He may need reminders in a new home. His ideal home has a large fenced yard, and an active family willing to take him on walks and adventures. He LOVES balls... and is learning too get comfortable in the car. This dog is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. We think he would benefit from training and we will require a training contract. It's simple, you pick a trainer in your area. Adoption fee is $375. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Forester. He and his family had a Ruff start - abandoned in a homeless camp next to a busy CA freeway. An amazing Rescue team got them to safely and now they currently in Washington State foster homes. :) At about 10 weeks old, he's wee - about 6#. They are also low and long... so maybe Chiweenie? Forester also has a cute little tail curl... it's how we tell him from his sisters when they are bouncing around. He is the only boy in the litter and is active and silly... a typical puppy in every way, social, loves to play. And he loves cuddles! Of course we always love another friendly dog in a home with a puppy! These puppies are pretty confident... love playing with the resident Aussie. Due to this puppy’s smaller size, we aer looking for homes with children over the age of 6. This puppy is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need more puppy shots at 12 weeks, and at 16 weeks, including rabies. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. We don’t hold puppies, adoption applications may be approved in just a few days depending on how quickly references respond. If you are planning on a vacation or have an issue that may delay your ability to pick up your puppy within a few days of approval, please let us know in advance. Adoption fee is $575. At about 11 weeks old, she's in the 10# range. Both her parents are under 25# pounds, so we think she will be in that size range. She is active and silly... a typical puppy in every way.
