Story
We are Mishka’s third home. We acquired her from a military family that was living down in the Joint Base Lewis-McChord area who also acquired her from another military family, we are assuming relocated. She has been with us since October of 2020 and has been around our lab that is 4 years older than her and has also grown up with our two kiddos. She is a very vocal pup and loves to play as well. We don’t have any cats so we don’t know how she would be with them. We call her Mish and Moo (moo) for short. She likes frozen blueberries as a nice snack but will eat any other yummy treats.

Story
Monty is a lovable, sweet-natured pup who’s always up for a car ride and never turns down a peanut butter lick mat! He’s an excellent leash-walker and feels right at home on busy trails, making him a great companion for outdoor adventures. While Monty is full of love, he can be a bit sensitive to loud noises like fireworks or unexpected knocks at the door—he’ll thrive in a calm, understanding home that gives him a sense of security. Monty enjoys social time with other dogs and can have dog friends, but he needs to be the only animal in the home. He does best without sharing his living space with other pets, where he can relax and feel safe.

Story
***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 5/30/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Meet Milo, an amazing (almost)-6 year old American Bulldog mix who makes everyone smile with his vibrant personality. He is perfect for adventures, hikes & more! (NOTE: his age is a guess, as he was originally a stray - he could be a year or two younger than estimated). He weighs about 60#, is house trained, & loves people. He is dog selective so it's recommended he be an only dog, best to err on the side of caution. He is very strong & is great with kids, but could knock over toddlers with his boundless enthusiasm. NO CATS for Milo, please – he will be a wonderful only-pet, and looks forward to meeting your every need in a companion. Milo is a high-energy athlete who loves being outside with his favorite people. Whether you are looking for a dedicated hiking partner or a champion zoomie-competitor for your backyard, this boy is up for the task. He’ll thrive in a home that can keep his keen mind as busy as his paws through training, puzzles, and plenty of outdoor play. He is a ready & willing student just waiting for a family to teach him the ropes and turn all that enthusiasm into refined skill. He already knows “sit” and “shake” (“paw”) and responds to “Lay” (which could easily be translated for him to “lie down” should the grammar bug you as much as it does me, HA). While his energy is boundless, his favorite place to be is right by your side. After a long day of exploring, Milo’s affectionate side takes over, and he’s more than happy to settle in for some serious ear scratches and belly rubs. He seeks an active household that can match his zest for life. If you have the space in your home and your heart for a smart, spirited, and soulful companion, Milo may be your perfect match! Fair warning: Milo is NOT a dog to leave outside alone for long periods. If he decides he is missing you, he has some ninja-like parkour skills with which to get himself out of isolation and into your arms. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Milo is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Lucy is a very sweet 30 lb six-year-old tripawd. She was born with what we call a chickenwing! Not sure if she realizes she’s any different than other dogs. She is very sweet and loving, but unfortunately, she’s created severe allergy issues in my house. She has been great around my young grandchildren and does very well with dogs bigger than her (she’s quite aware she’s not an alpha) and seems totally fine with cats :-). She LOVES toys and enjoys running and chasing after a ball. Again, she is 100% handicapable!! She is one of the most affectionate dogs I’ve ver been around, all about lovin’ and snuggles. Also GREAT in the car!She is fixed, up-to-date on all her shots, and I had a DNA test done for her breed mix. If you’re interested, happy to forward that to youShe would do best in a less “athletic” home. Going on walks, for instance, isn’t her thing, for obvious reasons. Also a home with minimal stairs and carpets are best!

Story
Meet Clover! She's a 1.5yo female Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix looking for her perfect home. She's up to date on all shots, spayed, and has gone through boarding training. She's highly intelligent and knows her basic commands. She'll learn anything that you want/need to teach her faster than you'll ever imagine. We adopted Clover as a puppy with every intention of being her forever family. However, due to chronic illness limitations and other medical issues we simply can't give Clover what she needs anymore. She needs a family that will be able to keep up with her high energy and mental stimulation needs better than we can. Clover would do best in a house without cats. Her herding instincts are very strong and cats understandably don't like that. She would thrive with another dog in the house. She does well with older children but would need easing into being around younger kids. For whatever reason she just doesn't trust them. I am happy to answer any questions you have!

Story
🐾 Looking for the Best Home for the Best Boy 🐾 Due to a move to a home that doesn't allow dogs, we're heartbroken to be looking for a new family for our amazing Collie. At 9 years old, he's the perfect combination of calm, loving, and adventurous. He'll happily join you for hikes, runs, beach days, and walks, but he's just as content curling up beside you for cuddles. He truly adapts to any lifestyle. He's wonderful with kids, dogs, and cats, and was highly trained as a therapy dog, volunteering in hospitals, children places or retirement homes. He has earned his Canine Good Citizen certification and has impeccable manners. Don't let his age fool you—he still has plenty of energy, a playful spirit, and so much love to give. He receives Adequan shots every two weeks for prevention and mobility. More than anything, he's incredibly loyal and affectionate. He's the kind of dog who becomes your shadow, your adventure buddy, and your best friend all at once.
