Story
Monty is a lovable, sweet-natured pup who’s always up for a car ride and never turns down a peanut butter lick mat! He’s an excellent leash-walker and feels right at home on busy trails, making him a great companion for outdoor adventures. While Monty is full of love, he can be a bit sensitive to loud noises like fireworks or unexpected knocks at the door—he’ll thrive in a calm, understanding home that gives him a sense of security. Monty enjoys social time with other dogs and can have dog friends, but he needs to be the only animal in the home. He does best without sharing his living space with other pets, where he can relax and feel safe.

Story
We are Mishka’s third home. We acquired her from a military family that was living down in the Joint Base Lewis-McChord area who also acquired her from another military family, we are assuming relocated. She has been with us since October of 2020 and has been around our lab that is 4 years older than her and has also grown up with our two kiddos. She is a very vocal pup and loves to play as well. We don’t have any cats so we don’t know how she would be with them. We call her Mish and Moo (moo) for short. She likes frozen blueberries as a nice snack but will eat any other yummy treats.

***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 5/30/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Meet Bruce, also known as "The Bruce Dozer," an unbelievably resilient 65-pound survivor who is ready to plow his way into your heart just like he does when he’s looking for affection. Though he is only two years old and a bit shorter in stature, he is built like a tank and possesses a strength that matches his incredible spirit. Bruce came to us with a severe injury to his back paw, but he is mending beautifully and greets every visitor with a wagging tail, a huge smile, and plenty of kisses. This sweet boy absolutely thrives on human companionship and will happily spend hours being petted, rewarding your attention with a unique "happy grunt" that sounds like a tiny, awake-but-snoring noise. Because he is still healing from surgery, his activity is currently limited, making him the perfect co-pilot for a quiet, cozy home while he finishes his recovery. Once he is fully healed, however, he will be ready for endless rounds of play. Bruce is already housetrained and loves people of all shapes and sizes, though he does need to be the only pet in the home as he doesn't get along with cats and his status with other dogs is still being tested. If you have a pet-free home and a heart ready for a sturdy, loving bestie who has proven he can overcome anything, The Bruce Dozer is waiting for you. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Bruce is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Meet Scooter, the ultimate "best of both worlds" dog who is ready to sprint straight into your heart! This stunning year-old Golden Retriever and German Shepherd mix makes everyone smile with his vibrant personality. Scooter is the perfect age to start a lifetime of adventures, combining the legendary loyalty of a Shepherd with the goofy, sunshine-filled heart of a Golden. Scooter is a high-energy athlete, currently a 60-pound fun-seeking missile, who believes life is one giant game of fetch. Whether you are looking for a dedicated hiking partner or a champion zoomie-competitor for your backyard, this boy is up for the task. Because he is such a smart doggo, he’ll thrive in a home that can keep his mind as busy as his paws through training, puzzles, and plenty of outdoor play. He is a "blank slate" teenager just waiting for a family to teach him the ropes and turn all that youthful enthusiasm into refined skill. While his energy is boundless, his favorite place to be is right by your side. After a long day of exploring, Scooter’s affectionate side takes over, and he’s more than happy to settle in for some serious ear scratches and belly rubs. Leash training has begun for Scooter, along with working on sitting and waiting rather than rocketing through any open door. You will want to continue his training on the basics to help him become the best dog he can be! Scooter is housetrained and eager to learn anything you want to teach him. He was surrendered through no fault of his own and is now looking for an active household that can match his zest for life. Scooter is good with other dogs outside the home, but prefers not to share his people with another in-home doggo. He is NOT a friend to cats, and, though he LOVES small children, he's a bit too much dog for toddlers, who would be like bowling pins facing Cooter's ball of enthusiasm. So, while he would enjoy the occasional play date with another dog, we recommend he be the only pet in the family, with children old enough to stand up if he runs into them! If you have the space in your home and your heart for a smart, spirited, and soulful companion, come meet Scooter today and see if you’re the perfect match for this golden-hearted Shepherd! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Scooter is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). 🐾 URGENT — Looking for a Loving Home for Our Sweet Black Lab 🖤We are urgently looking to rehome our beloved 7-year-old black Labrador Retriever to a safe and loving home.He is truly the gentlest soul—loving, affectionate, and incredibly well-mannered. He loves snuggles, belly rubs, being close to his people, and playing fetch with his ball. After playtime, he’s happiest relaxing right by your side.He has no behavioral issues, no special medical needs, and is a healthy, strong dog.He would thrive in a home where he can receive the love, attention, activity, and companionship he deserves. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family. With a newborn and young children, we’ve realized we are no longer able to give him the time and care he truly needs. We love him deeply and want to find him a safe, caring home where he will continue to be loved and cherished.

***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved hospice foster on our 5/30/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering fostering Brownie? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Sweet Brownie is a gentle soul who proves that age is truly just a number when it comes to a heart full of love. At ten years young, this precious girl has transitioned into her golden years with grace and a quiet, comforting presence. While her eyesight and hearing aren't quite as sharp as they used to be, Brownie navigates the world through her remarkably keen sense of smell and the soft touch of a friendly hand. She doesn't need to see or hear you perfectly to know exactly where the affection is, and she will happily lean into your legs for a slow, steady wag of appreciation. Brownie recently had several mammary tumors removed, and unfortunately one came back with evidence of malignant osteosarcoma cells. Due to this, the veterinarian recommended we NOT put Brownie through the stress of a spay surgery, and that we place her as a hospice foster instead. This means Forget Me Not would remain the legal "owner" of Brownie, and would cover any necessary medical expenses for her care over the rest of her lifetime, but you as her hospice foster would be her actual family, and could decide how you want to create and fulfill a bucket list for this beautiful soul. Life with Brownie is all about the simple, beautiful moments like a sun-drenched nap on a soft rug or the predictable comfort of a slow stroll around the block. Because she relies on her other senses, she is looking for a calm and stable hospice foster home where she can learn the layout and feel secure in her surroundings. She is the ultimate companion for someone seeking a low-energy, soulful friend who asks for very little but gives back an immense amount of quiet devotion. Brownie may move a little slower these days, but her capacity for companionship is boundless, and she is more than ready to spend her retirement being cherished by a family who appreciates the beauty of a senior dog. To ensure Brownie finds the safest possible retirement spot, it is important to note that a single-story home or a living space without significant stairs would be her absolute dream. Because her vision and hearing are limited, navigating steps can be a bit tricky, and she would much prefer a flat layout where she can confidently map out her surroundings. We would recommend a home with no other dogs, or a similarly slow and sensory-challenged dog, and no cats for Brownie please. She weighs almost 90 pounds, something to consider when taking in a hospice dog - can you (alone or with help) lift her into a vehicle if/when needed? All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Brownie is a suggested minimum of HOSPICE FOSTER NEEDED, NO FEE (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you!
