Hudson has lived with other dogs in the past, and might enjoy having another canine companion in his new home. He can be a bit protective of his food and toys with people, so he would prefer not to go home with children. If your home sounds like the place for Hudson, he might be the dog for you! This animal is being cross-posted for Greyhound Pets Inc. This animal is not in the care of Kitsap Humane Society and the staff at KHS cannot respond to any inquiries about this animal. If you are interested in adopting or learning more about this pet, please contact Katherine Kreyling kkreyling11@gmail.com at Greyhound Pets Inc. Kitsap Humane Society is not responsible for any present or future damage the pet may do to a person, animal, or property. We encourage all prospective adopters to do their own evaluation. My name is Juniper and I can't wait to tell you all about myself! Because a kennel in Woodinville was kind enough to help me, I moved from California. However, I ended up in a place where people come to meet Greyhounds and they don't have much interest in dogs that aren't Greyhounds. Well, I may not be a Greyhound, but I am a pretty special girl!!There are so many things that I love to do that I can't list them all but ... I'll try. I'm learning to fetch (& I even give it back), food toys are so much fun that my caretakers usually give me my meals in a food toy. Puzzles really make me think and it doesn't take me long to figure them out. I know commands such as sit, down, shake, touch!! I am still working on my manners and they are improving!!! I walk well on a leash and I love to go on walks and explore the world. I think a run once in a while is really fun!! I know how to make my person feel really special ... I lean on them, cuddle, give kisses & give them all my attention! In the interest of full disclosure, I do have to say that there are a few things I am still working on. I may be a little nervous when I first meet you (and I may even bark at you) but as soon as I figure out that you are okay, I can be your best friend! I am really strong but my trainers are helping me learn not to pull too much. The trainers are even going to give my new owner 4 free lessons just to make sure that we get off on the best foot possible!I guess you also need to know the basics ... I am about 2 years old and I was hit by a car which left me with a small head tilt (which just makes me cuter in my opinion)!! I have hip dysplasia which could need surgery at some time in the future but there is no way to know whether or not that will ever be needed. As of right now, I am just fine!I am NOT a Greyhound - I look kind of like a retriever and my DNA test showed that I am 45% German Shepherd, 42% Staffordshire Terrier, 11% American Pit Bull Terrier & 2% cattle dog. If you are looking for a new family member to be your shadow, partner and very best friend, I think you better come meet me!! (PLEASE!!!)Please tell all your friends about me! Story
Adopt Domino! He's a 2.5 year old Australian Cattledog/Pittie mix and he is ready to find his forever family. This active, playful boy loves fetch, and has a great time playing in the yard and enjoying nature. He also likes to splash around in the water at the beach like a true PNW pup! He is a very smart dog who enjoys learning, and will eagerly show off all his tricks in exchange for delicious dog-appropriate snacks; he is very treat motivated, and really blossoms with positive reinforcement training. Domino loves spending time with his people, and is quite a cuddly and smoochy fella with his friends. He has spent time in a KHS foster home and is a polite pup with good house manners, and he also rides well in the car. This sweet boy does great with his friends but can be nervous around people he doesn't know, so his ideal home would be a stand-alone house, with a fully fenced in yard so that he can enjoy his own private oasis. Domino needs to be the only dog in the house. He'd also do best with dog-savvy kids that are 16 and older. Domino may require two adoption meets with prospective adopters to ensure that the match is right - but trust us, Domino is worth the extra effort! If you're ready to add a bright and loyal BFF to your life, Domino is your guy. Come to the shelter and make an appointment to meet him!DOMINO IS AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, PLEASE FILL OUT AND TURN IN AN ADOPTION SURVEY TO MEET HIM!Want to bring Domino home, but need some time to make a decision about adopting? Give this sweetheart a trial run through our Foster to Adopt program! Take some time to simply get to know Domino in your own home and then see if you'd like him to stay. If you're curious to get to know our friend Domino, come to the shelter and fill out an adoption survey today! Domino is a Hidden Gem. To help Domino find his forever home, his adoption fee has been reduced. Come schedule an appointment to visit Domino to see if he is the right fit for your home.Domino needs a home with*:-children ages 16 and up-a fully fenced in yard-no apartments, condos, or townhouses-no cats-no dogs*If your home doesn't match the guidelines listed above, but you think Domino could still be your perfect new best buddy, please email us at adoptions@kitsap-humane.org to learn if you could be a good fit for Domino! Story
Willow is a beautiful, 3 year old Lab/Malamute mix. Her ideal weight would be around 70-80lbs. She is currently weighing in at 100lbs and so she will need to lose some weight! Willow is currently living in a home that is not an ideal situation for her. She is not getting the exercise or training that she needs. In her current home, she resource guards with the humans and the other small dog in the home. If a person tries to take something from her, she will nip at you. She needs a quiet home where her owner has the time and patience to provide her positive reinforce training. If the adopters are in Kitsap County, KARE will help provide training support with the resource guarding. No small dogs, cats, chickens or other small animals, as well as no small children. Fenced in yard required. Interestingly enough, she does very well at the dog park! She is very friendly with all dogs and humans there! She has never resource guarded or nipped at anyone outside of her home. This beauty needs a second chance! She is very loving and loves to play!
