Story
💙 MEET DUKE💙 Duke is an 8-year-old purebred Great Dane rescued from California who just had recent vet care and is need of a foster home or potential adoptive home. This handsome senior boy has so much love to give and truly adores his people. He is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he's by your side soaking up attention. Duke previously lived as a breeding dog and was not socialized with other dogs, so he will need a home where he can be the only pet. He simply does not enjoy the company of other dogs and will thrive best as the center of your world. But he does do well with cats or other animals. He is fully potty trained and lets you know when he needs to go out as well. He has been recently neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and thoroughly vetted. Duke is in excellent health for his age and even had a recent dental completed. He needs a foster or adoptive home where he can relax and enjoy your company.

Story
Name: Crystal Age: 8 months old (Estimated DOB: March 13) Sex: Spayed Female (S. Female) Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 19 kg Height: 55 cm   Rescue Story: Crystal was born at a city shelter after her mom was admitted.   Personality & Socialization   ‍‍ With People   Crystal is incredibly affectionate. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, rubbing her body against them and allowing gentle touches with ease. She fully accepts children under 13 and currently lives in a home with kids.   She’s comfortable being lifted (even with arms placed under her belly), and she warms up instantly to people of all ages and genders. She even shows her belly to strangers and lets people she meets on walks pet her tummy — she is that sweet and trusting!   With Other Dogs   Crystal has a friendly and social nature with dogs of all sizes. She confidently approaches new dogs, politely says hi, and invites them to play. She currently lives with an adult dog much bigger than her and gets along beautifully.   If another dog shows aggression, Crystal simply walks away — she avoids conflict and chooses peace.   With Cats   No direct observation yet, but cat testing can be arranged.   Energy Level   Crystal has a medium energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities, exploring, and playtime, but after that she settles quietly and rests well. Adequate outdoor time makes her happiest.   ‍ Walks   She gets very excited on walks and tends to pull due to curiosity, but she loves people and usually follows well. With consistent practice, she’ll become an excellent walking partner.   Resource Guarding   None observed. She does not guard food against humans or other dogs.   Separation / Home Behavior   Crystal has not been left completely alone — she has always been with another dog when humans were away. Her current separation anxiety is mild, but she may develop anxiety if expected to stay alone, so gradual training is recommended.   She only barks when she wants something, and she whines a bit when placed in a kennel/crate, but usually settles or falls asleep shortly after.   She is currently outdoor potty trained.   Crystal Is Looking for Her Forever Family   Crystal is a sweet, gentle, loving girl with a heart full of affection for people and dogs alike. She’d thrive in a home that can provide: Consistent outdoor time Patient training for solo time A family who loves cuddles and belly rubs Possibly another friendly dog (optional but helpful)   If you’re looking for a warm, social, and gentle Jindo mix puppy, Crystal might be your perfect match. Meet Pearl — A Sweet & Social Jindo Mix Looking for Her Forever Family!   Name: Pearl Age: 9 months Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 21 kg Height: 56 cm (shoulder height)   Personality with People   Pearl is a very affectionate and friendly girl who happily approaches both familiar people and strangers. She loves leaning in for pets and allows handling easily. With people she knows well, she’s a total sweetheart — she may jump up to give kisses and show her playful affection. She does well with children under 13 and is comfortable being gently lifted with an arm under her belly. Once she trusts you, she’ll even show her belly   Socialization with Other Dogs   Pearl enjoys greeting and playing with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. She does have a timid side — if several dogs (even small ones) rush toward her at once, she may retreat. She can be a little socially unaware at times and may try to initiate play even if the other dog is unsure. With very high-energy dogs, she will clearly communicate when she’s uncomfortable.   Cats   Pearl has not yet been tested with cats, but a cat test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Pearl has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once her exercise is done, she settles nicely and relaxes indoors.   ‍ Walking & Leash Skills   She does pull on the leash at times but generally follows her handler well. Pearl loves sniffing and exploring, so walks often involve stopping and starting as she takes in all the scents around her   Other Behaviors & Habits   • No food guarding toward people or dogs, though she is food-motivated and may rush to eat first • Rarely barks — if uncomfortable, she may whine softly instead • Calm and well-behaved in a kennel • Gets in and out of the car on her own • Fully accustomed to outdoor potty routines   Rescue Story   Pearl was rescued with her mother and littermates after her mom entered the Ganghwa Shelter in Incheon and gave birth there. Thanks to rescue support, Pearl has grown up safe and loved — and is now ready for her forever home. Currently in Korea — available for adoption to Canada/US Apply to adopt or foster Pearl: https://adoptmekr.org Please visit our Facebook or Instagram. Pearl is a loving, joyful young dog who will make a wonderful companion for a family ready to grow with her ##2609383##

Story
Meet Mimi 6 yrs | 13 kg | Jindo mix | Spayed Female |   Rescue Story Mimi came to the Wanju Shelter in July 2024 and gave birth to two puppies, Heokmi and Hyunmi, on August 1. After her puppies were adopted and flown overseas, Mimi was finally rescued herself in March 2025. She underwent leg surgery to correct an old fracture that had healed improperly — her leg bone was realigned and stabilized with a plate. She’s now fully recovered and walks beautifully!   Personality Mimi is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves people — not only familiar faces but also strangers! She enjoys gentle petting, loves treats, and easily forms bonds with anyone who shows her kindness. She’s friendly with both men and women and hasn’t lived with young children before, but given her gentle, people-loving nature, she’s likely to do well with calm, respectful kids. She can be picked up gently (arms under her belly) and often rolls over to show her belly when she’s relaxed and happy.   With Other Dogs Mimi greets other dogs politely but prefers quiet companionship over playtime. She enjoys her alone time and may get annoyed if other dogs bother her when she’s resting. She’s generally friendly toward dogs her size or smaller and sometimes enjoys playful interaction with gentle male dogs. Overall, Mimi prefers people over dogs — she’s happiest just being near her humans.   With Cats Mimi shows curiosity and some excitement around cats. She doesn’t attack or lunge, but if a cat hisses or teases her, she may respond with a quick nip-like motion. For safety, she was separated during testing. She barks or gets excited when she sees cats from a distance, so a home without cats (or with very careful, slow introduction) would be best.   Energy Level Low energy. Mimi loves calm days and cozy naps — a gentle, easygoing companion who thrives in peaceful environments.   ‍ Walking She’s an excellent walker! Mimi has plenty of walking experience, doesn’t pull on the leash, and follows her person beautifully.   Other Notes Mimi loves food and may guard her meal if another dog tries to take it. It’s best to feed her separately from other food-motivated dogs. She’s quiet overall — she may bark during mealtime out of excitement but rarely otherwise. She has no separation anxiety, stays calm in a kennel, and currently prefers outdoor potty breaks.   Mimi is a gentle, loyal soul who’s been through so much yet remains full of love. She’s ready to find her forever home — one that’s calm, patient, and full of warmth.   Apply to foster or adopt at www.adoptmekr.org   Currently in South Korea, available for adoption in / Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram. ##2554784##

*** CURRENTLY IN TORONTO!!! Adopt Chocolat Affectionate • Independent • Resilient   Name: Chocolat Age: 2 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Black / White Weight: 8 kg (17.6 lbs) Height: 38 cm (15 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story   In April 2025, Chocolat was rescued after being found abandoned inside a sack on the street along with another dog. The case was reported, but the person responsible was never identified.   After her rescue, Chocolat stayed at the WeAct Center before moving to the AKR Center in October, where she has been preparing for adoption ever since. Despite her traumatic past, she has shown incredible resilience and an affectionate spirit.   ‍ With People   Chocolat is friendly and social with both familiar and unfamiliar people. She enjoys approaching people, rubbing her body against them, and especially loves food—offering treats makes bonding with her very easy.   Due to her past trauma, she initially screamed if anyone reached under her belly, possibly from fear or previous mistreatment. With time and care, she has made great progress and can now be gently picked up without panic, though she still doesn’t enjoy being held.   She is very affectionate and often shows her belly to new people or follows them around asking for attention and pets.   With Other Dogs   Chocolat prefers calm, one-on-one friendships rather than group play. If her favorite dog friend isn’t around, she usually relaxes alone—lying on blankets or sunbathing on the grass.   She is not particular about size but prefers dogs that are gentle and non-pushy. She dislikes rude or dominant dogs and may bark at them to tell them to back off. While she may respond if provoked, she has never been in an actual fight—other dogs typically retreat when she sets boundaries.   She generally has low interest in other dogs and enjoys resting alone or playing independently with her toys.   With Cats No observed reaction to cats yet.   Energy Level   Moderate energy overall. Low energy indoors and moderate energy outdoors. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterward.   Walking   Chocolat enjoys walks and gets excited to go out. She may pull slightly on the leash but generally follows her handler well.   Other Notes   • No food guarding toward people • May growl if another dog approaches while she is eating or takes her toys • No separation anxiety • May bark briefly when first placed in a crate; settles well with toys or nose-work activities • Fully outdoor potty trained   Chocolat would do best in a home that respects her independence, understands her boundaries, and appreciates her affectionate yet self-sufficient nature. She is a loyal, loving companion for someone who values a calm and emotionally intelligent dog.   If you’re looking for a dog with depth, resilience, and a gentle soul, Chocolat may be the one for you Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. ##2636198##

Story
Name: Rose Age: 6 months Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo mix Color: Cream Weight: 10 kg (22 lbs) Height: 43 cm (17 inches)   Rescue Story: Rose was rescued from a city shelter in South Korea, just before her scheduled euthanasia. She is now safe and ready to start her new life with a loving family   ‍‍ With People   Rose is a little shy at first, but only needs a short time (about 1–2 hours) to warm up. With treats, she quickly opens her heart and allows gentle handling and petting. She hasn’t met children under 13 yet, but she has a very gentle and sweet personality and would likely do well with respectful kids. She is comfortable being held and even enjoys being cuddled.   With Other Dogs   Rose is still a bit inexperienced with playing with many dogs, but she has a strong desire to interact and play. With more exposure, she is expected to become a happy, playful puppy like others her age. She prefers dogs of similar size and tends to avoid conflict if another dog is too pushy.   With Cats   Not yet tested, but a cat test can be arranged.   Energy Level   Moderate energy. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles down nicely and rests calmly after exercise.   Walking   She hasn’t had much leash walking experience yet and may feel unsure outside at first. Her first walk will be introduced very soon, and we expect she will adjust with gentle guidance and positive experiences.   Other Notes   • No food guarding (with people or dogs) • No separation anxiety • Not a barker • Calm in a crate/kennel • Currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty Rose is a gentle, loving puppy who just needs a little time to feel safe — and once she does, she gives her whole heart She would thrive in a patient home that can guide her through her puppy stage and show her the world.
