Story
This brindle bully is Bella. She is one of a few dogs that has resided with one of our southern trainers for quite some time. Despite having some issues that make her a bit less adoptable, this pup still deserves a home where she is loved and her needs can be met. And having a trainer as a foster mom is a huge plus!!!Bella is very sweet, but also can be a bit sassy and bossy. Despite that, she has been been tugging at her fosters heart strings for a very long time. She would have definitely been a foster fail if she was not living in an environment with new dogs coming and going almost everyday.Bella is the perfect 50 pound lap dog. She does not understand the concept of personal space and will try to get in your lap at all costs, especially if you are her level.Even though, she has played well with carefully selected dogs, she will not roll over if that dog is overbearing or tries to correct her, Therefore, being an only dog would be ideal. She is not the girl who can go to a doggie daycare either so she would require a home that will exercise her and a fenced yard where she could run would be a bonus. At her age, she'd probably prefer being the only diva in the house. She's done fine with people and older children, so long as they're willing to give her some butt scratches. No cats or young kids.Bella is very obedient, very affectionate and routine oriented. She also crates fine. She does have a habit of jumping up and nose-butting your chin if she thinks her petting session is done (I want more loving please!). She has learned not to do that with foster mom, but will test the waters with new people.Name: BellaBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 7 years 7 months  (estimated as of 1/15/24)Weight: 50.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: NoGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $250.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
This handsome senior is Roscoe. He is one of a few dogs that has resided with one of our southern trainers, Desiree, for quite some time. Despite having some issues that make him a bit less adoptable, this guy still deserve a home where he is loved and his needs can be met. And having a trainer as a foster mom is a huge plus!!!Roscoe is truly very special to her. He was found weighing 38 lbs (about half of what he should have weighed) and needed assistance walking due to his body condition. He also had heavy heartworm, but has shown zero complications after treatment. After months and months of TLC, he is now a confident, outgoing, loving, playful (you wouldn't know he was a senior) boy. He's great with all people, but would get under foot with children. In all his years he has yet to realize he should bounce less around the small two legged. As big and goofy as he is, he's actually pretty sensitive, god forbid he stubs his toe!) When you reach down to pet him, he'll tuck himself into this tiny little ball like you're trying to attack him-but that's just how he prefers to be scratched. Typical PBM zoomies included at no extra charge- yep all 4 left feet of em!!!He likes to play ball and tug, great in the car, fine in the crate, would need supervision early on in a new environment to prevent marking. He's not been destructive with toys, but will chew out of boredom. However, he takes very well to correction (NO!) and understands quickly.Roscoe is just fine as an only dog, as long as you give him lots of love and some exercise. He will be yourabsolute best friend.Name: RoscoeBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/ American Bulldog Mix (he's taller than he looks in pictures)Sex: MaleAge: 8 years 6 months  (estimated)Weight: 60.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: NoGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $250.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TNIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Have you been looking for love in all the wrong places…then you need Douglas! This dog is ready to dedicate his life to you. Douglas is the best of both worlds, puppy energy and enthusiasm but house-broken and crate-trained.He would love his own person or people to be with all the time. But don’t worry when you need to leave him alone, he is good in his crate and will entertain himself with chew toys. He is very treat motivated so training is fun. Doug is graduating from Good Pup soon and would love to continue his training with them. (His foster will gift you some continued training to guarantee his success!) Douglas would be best as an only dog. He has not been cat tested, but he may find them too much fun. And he is too energetic for young children but dog-savvy older children who will help with training would be fine. And if you are wondering why his foster will not keep him, they would love to…..but they have three other dogs and Douglas truly deserves his own people to dote on him.Don’t miss this special boy, he will give you his heart! Story
Look at this beauty - she's been waiting a long timeWe believe the reason she's not gained any attention is because at first she was considered a flight risk but not more - she's so much more comfortable in her foster home she's not going anywhere until her new forever home is found. She's also doing great with her leash walking which was a roadblock before - again, foster family prevails and she's got it down!!She is a beautiful girl, loves toys, treats, and playing with her housemate mix of fosters and residents. This beautiful and intelligent cattle dog mix is ready to find her forever family.Noelle is crate trained, going in willingly and settling down quickly. She is also housetrained. Noelle can now be trusted uncrated at home when alone for short periods of time. Noelle would do best in a house with a confident dog sibling as she loves them. Cats - sure thing Dogs - even more so - she loves them.Sweet Noelle was a stray who was running around in the very frigid weather of December 2022, very, very pregnant. A southern foster home was secured for her, but Noelle chewed through her leash and ran as she was being dropped off there. For almost a week, rescuers frantically searched for her and her impending litter. She was finally found under a local house, where she had already given birth to 11 puppies!!! This time, she was brought safely to her foster home along with her family. Story
Hazel - one of those dogs who photos don't do her justice - she's soooooooo pretty in real life!Hazel is a beautiful and spunky girl who wants nothing more than to love her humans and be part of the family. She’s about 55lbs, around three years old, and currently fostering in Massachusetts. Her unique coloring and dark eyeliner make her one-of-a-kind. When Hazel was first found, she needed medical attention for several wounds but is now fully healed and ready to play! Her fosters say: Hazel is a big goofball! She loves, loves, loves playing with her toys, sharing an apple on the couch, or snuggling with her humans. In fact, she ranks among the best canine snugglers we’ve ever encountered! She’s a medium-energy dog who needs her exercise - she’d make a great hiking partner or running buddy. We’ve even had her run alongside while biking, and she’s done great despite distractions like other dogs or squirrels. Hazel is fully house-trained and crate-trained - she loves her crate and knows when it’s time to relax. Hazel does great with other dogs when introduced properly - slow and steady - the way it should be done. During her time with us, we fostered a puppy, and Hazel was very gentle and sweet with her (see videos!) On the leash, Hazel can pull at times, but responds to corrections and has come a long since she arrived a few months ago. With strong leadership, we know she’ll continue to improve. Along with better leash manners, we are teaching her more about boundaries with humans (if you love getting your face licked, Hazel is perfect for you!) She’s learning quickly. She's a pretty strong girl - some additional training may be needed and we would be happy to help with that.Hazel would make a loyal and loving addition to any family.Check out some videos of this precious girl. Story
Sweet beautiful Raven was found wandering in a rural area of Texarkana, TX. Several people were feeding her, but none claimed her as their own. She was picked up by a Good Samaritan, who then contacted PAWSNE for help. Poor Raven looked awful with an untreated skin condition, and like many strays in the south, she is heartworm positive. Under the care of her fabulous foster, Raven's skin is healed, and she has now completed her heartworm treatment and has no more activity restrictions. She would love a home with another high energy dog about her size. Loves to do zoomes and loves a good roll in the grass. I think she would be equally happy in an active family with no other dogs. She has done well with all the dogs she’s met who are her size and energy level.Raven loves her foster mom's big fenced yard, we prefer her new home have a fence. She is still working on her leash skills so a fenced yard will also help with getting some energy out.Raven was cat tested and did just fine (see videos)https://youtube.com/shorts/NZwIzqgZYhQ?si=7x-GWu_nFjp1HjN-https://youtube.com/shorts/JQgYAAnywH0?si=xHqii-cJxEpUkaUqRaven has not been around young children but is fine around older children that she has met in public. She’s probably best suited for a family with older kids because she will sometimes jump up on you, but she is easily corrected. She loves to go on car rides and does well in the car but needs help loading up into foster mom's tall SUV. Raven is housetrained to a doggie door, so her new family will need to teach her "outside" cues. This pup is just a happy girl. She is friendly to all people, fairly confident, and would make a great addition to any loving, active home.Name: RavenBreed: Lab/Terrier CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 1 year 9 months (estimated as of 1/25/24)Weight: 45lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Completed heartworm treatment!!Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7 Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: Yes!Adoption Fee: $300.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: Texarkana Tx IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
