Story
PUPDATE 9.16.23 Ferguson here checking in from MNBR. My Foster mom likes to call me Fergs, Fergie, Ferg, I don’t care because I can’t hear her as longs as she doesn’t call me late for dinner. I really don’t like it when other dogs walk up on me from behind me. Because I can’t hear them coming this tends to scare me and I can react. I love food and have some food and attention aggression. If I think another furbaby is getting more than me, I can get jealous. It says I should be in a home as an only dog; however, I have been living with a foster brother for about a month and doin’ pretty well. As long as you keep your eyes on me and know my signs, I think I could live with another fursibling. I love to cuddle and give love. When you start petting me, I will not let you go until I am ready. I will let know this by a couple of friendly barks AKA reminders.  As my foster from Kentucky said I love to play, and I have been having a great time with my foster brother. I haven’t really been interested in toys, but this could change. Sometimes I get so excited I become an ankle biter, but if you grab my attention, I know I need to calm down.  I was able to make it to Forrest’s Garage Sale and meet a lot of new people. I did really good. I got to meet a couple kids and was a perfect gentleman!! I love going for rides, and do great in cars. I have the “lean” down while going around corners:) My Foster mom thinks this is funny.   Jaymi Heimbuch once said “Every white hair is one day of experience in being the very best friend you’ve ever had.” I got a lot of them and ready to be YOUR BEST FRIEND!!!  NEW TO RESCUE 8.18.23 I've been in foster care in Kentucky while I wait for my ride to MNBR. I'm the sweetest, goofy fellow who just wants to be loved and cuddled. I dance when I'm excited! I need to be the only dog. I get jealous with sharing attention. I would love playdates and walks with friends though! I don't do well with the cats - I tend to chase them. I'm free roam and fully housetrained. I like to play with toys! I do get into the garbage every once in a while. I will counter surf because I'm very food motivated. I love to snuggle in need with you. I would do best with a fenced yard. I'm good with kids, but respectful kids of course. I'm perfect on a leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:52 pm

Story
I'm pretty great if I do say so myself. I'm good with other dogs. I love anyone and anything that shows me attention. Admittedly, I'm leary of men but once I sniff them I warm up quickly. I tolerate cats, but don't love them. I'm housetrained, crate trained, good at the vets, and like car rides. I want all the pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:52 pm

Story
Pupdate- 4.16.24 Hey friends, I'm Cooper! I'm an awesome boy with quite a story.  I will start with telling you a little about the amazing progress I have made in a short amount of time.  Pull up a chair , I can’t wait to tell you about myself…   Mr. Cooper LOVE people and affection. If you are interested in having  someone  be your loyal shadow, this guy is for you! He is an extremely strong and muscular dog weighing in at a solid 62 pounds. You should note that I eat about 3.5-4 cups of food a day. I do seem to have some digestive issues (toots), so we stick to chicken or  beef based  dog food.  I am very food motivated, so you can use food as treats…I don’t seem to know the difference ;)  When  I  first came to  my  foster mum ,   I  was: not house-trained, not crate-trained, couldn’t walk on a leash,  has some  skin issues and sores on  my  feet. But in a short 6 weeks …guess what…   I am  INCREDIBLY excited to share that  I have overcome all of the skills just listed!   I do  fall into  my  old habits of being mouthy, at times when engaging in play.  I’m not being  aggressive ,  just very excited and a lot of energy  makes me overly excited. From my foster mum:  Although Mr. Cooper LOVES kids, he does not remember his size. This paired with his energy can lead to jumping and possibly knocking over any children. Teenage children or older is recommended. Mr. Cooper also loves other dogs.  Mr. Cooper LOVES to be outside. This includes just lounging in the sun or running zoomies in the yard. His foster mum “highly” recommends a house for him “not” in the cities but instead a quiet area. He currently lives on 4 acres on a quiet dead-end cul-de-sac. He has jumped a fence in the past and his foster mum believes he would still be capable of this, so a fence is not a confinement solution for him long term. He currently runs on a 50 ft. leash lead and this seems to work well. He has stubborn streaks and will not listen if he is determined or focused on something.  He seems to have a “very” high prey drive! Although he lived with a small dog in the past, his foster mum doesn’t know how he would do. There are two small  dogs in the neighborhood now and he seems very eager to meet them but he needs to continue practicing his manners prior to meeting them (they are quite small).  Although he doesn’t bark when people knock at the door, ring the door bell, or stand in the open glass; he will stand gazing eagerly at the individual on the other side. But he doesn’t seem to bark. He  does  bark when foster mum leaves the house, so he should not in a home with any shared walls.   Cooper does not like the cold or to be cold. He LOVES to snuggle in foster mum’s softest blankets and cuddle next to her all night long. I love to lay wherever you will let me but know that I can only go where my basketball blanket is placed.  *Cooper will come with transition sessions with his trainer to help make sure he has a successful transition to his new home as well as being able to communicate with the trainer before meeting Cooper. We love him and are ecstatic he is ready to find his forever family! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:52 pm

Story
Things are going well here.  Zeke is a really good dog that is looking for his forever home.  He is a curious boy with all the Boxer attitude, and is sweet and playful and does well with our other dogs.  He loves his toys and is learning how to fetch.  The cat is not an issue for him so a home with a cat could work just fine. He is vocal when he plays and loves to play hard like a typical Boxer. Zeke loves his kennel and puts himself to bed when he is tired.  He loves to ride in the car, is independent and food and treat motivated.  He is housebroken. He isn't a fan of being touched when he's sleeping - he'll grumble and walk away. We have only had him for a few days and he is doing great.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:52 pm

Story
Update 4.20.24 Hello, Molly here. I have great news.  My foster mom taught me to sit. I am crushing this foster thing. I am ready to show my forever family the joy named Molly. That’s me!   New to rescue 2.25.24 My names Molly! I am a 4 and a 1/2 year old female boxer. I’m a bit smaller than your usual boxer weighing in at an about 40 pounds. I have a heart murmur so I need to take it a little easy as I get tired pretty quickly. I can’t be spayed because I can’t undergo anesthesia due to my heart murmur. I’m a very calm girl who loves to snuggle close on your lap. I listen well and i’m very smart! I love to learn. Im crate trained and I see my kennel as a safe space. I recently got potty trained and i’m doing so good with it!! I’m finding my confidence and being more independent from my brother. I do not do well with other dogs or cats. My brother and I get overwhelmed around other animals & will start tussling with each other. Something that people love about me is my tongue almost always sticks out! I’m really enjoying learning all the fun words like “treat” “outside” and “car ride” means! I love to play with toys and chew on bones. Again, snuggling is my jam. Cover me with a blanket please!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 6:52 pm
