Story
Silver is a very loving and sweet boy. His original owner had a stroke and couldn't take care of him anymore. He had never shared a house with other pets so we gave it a try and unfortunately, after 2 weeks we realized he is not a match. He doesn't get along with our other dog. We love him so much and are broken having to let him go. He does ok with other dogs for a few hours but he's not good sharing a home with other dogs. He is very gentle and loves hanging out with his humans. We were told he was 5 years old. He is a 118 lb St Bernard. Not sure if he is mixed. He needs a loving home that can give him some stability and affection.

Story
Woody really wants to be your best friend. He will follow you every where. He likes to lay at your feet. He is pretty playful too. He loves to play tug and keep away. He will fetch a ball and then try to keep you from taking it. He loves rides in the car but does not like being left alone inside while you shop. He is so very sweet. Once Woody bonds to you he is chill and sweet. Woody had a hard time adjusting for about 2 weeks after losing his family. But it was well worth the wait. Please call 952 855-6495 to meet Woody.

Story
I adopted little Finley pup two weeks ago, and he’s now 10 weeks old and growing like crazy! Finley loves to play in the yard, chew on teething toys, and nap. He sleeps on the floor next to my bed all night and uses his puppy pads really well. He also makes it outside about 50% of the time, which is amazing! He loves stuffed animals, blankets, and towels. I have taught him to sit and wait. He wants to work and learn and very treat motivated! The reason I need to rehome Finley is that I’m moving unexpectedly where dogs aren’t allowed. I need to care for a family member. I’m incredibly sad and disappointed! My main goal is to find someone who will be a great fit for him. He’s so intelligent and really wants to socialize and work! I’m hoping to recoup some of the costs of supplies, and all food/toys will go with him. Please reach out with Q’s. Finley is one of 8 in his litter whose momma was rescued from down south. He is a special pup and he needs a forever home! Thank you.

Her world is painted in shades of love and determination due to overcoming vision impairments with remarkable finesse due to her hearing and smelling She has proven that strength lies not in what we see, but in the unwavering spirit within. With every step, she demonstrates her determination to explore life to the fullest. Her bond with her brother is something truly special. They continue to find support from each other as they navigate their world safely. Their connection is a testament to the power of love and companionship, and they must be adopted together to ensure that they continue to thrive. These two gentle giants can be the perfect addition to your family and can do well in a household with cats and older children. Both dogs are housebroken, crate-trained, and walk well on a leash. Story
Introducing Maxwell! Energetic Playful Affectionate Extraordinary Appearance: Maxwell is a stunning Great Dane with an elegant white coat. His beauty goes beyond his appearance, as his unique qualities make him an exceptional companion. Activities and Play: Maxwell has an active and adventurous spirit. He enjoys playing with various toys, from balls to ropes and deer antlers. Going for walks and exploring the world are among his favorite pastimes. Maxwell's boundless curiosity and enthusiasm are truly contagious. In the backyard, Maxwell lets loose with his famous "zoomies," showcasing his joyful and playful nature. He relishes companionship and interaction with his people, cherishing every moment of love and attention. Need for Companionship: Maxwell has a strong preference for being in the company of his loved ones. He dislikes being left alone and may bark when separated from his family. A home where someone is present more often than not is ideal for his well-being. Challenges and Adaptability: Maxwell faces significant vision impairment, but his resilience shines through. While he may see only a fraction of what others do, he adapts remarkably well once he's familiar with his environment. He may perceive motion, lightness, darkness, or the presence of objects, allowing him to navigate and enjoy life. Maxwell also has a significant hearing impairment. He may hear certain high-pitched noises, but he relies on his visual senses and the reassurance of his loved ones. His world is shaped by the guidance and support of his human companions. Boundaries: Maxwell appreciates respect for his personal space. He may get nervous when objects, people, or other dogs move quickly, given his limited sight and hearing. A physical fence is required to ensure his safety and security. Ideal Home: Having a submissive, active dog in his forever home can greatly contribute to Maxwell's happiness and confidence. If his adoptive family includes children, we recommend ages 12 and older with a calm demeanor. A calm and consistent home life is essential to his success. Previous Challenges: Maxwell had been bounced from home to home for the first half of his life. He truly deserves a stable and loving forever home. A family with experience in caring for dogs with deafness and vision impairment would be a true blessing for him. Maxwell is not just a dog; he's a testament to adaptability and the joy of living life to the fullest despite challenges. If you have the heart and dedication to provide him with the love and care he needs, please reach out to us. Maxwell is ready to embark on a new journey, and he'd love to share it with you. Please complete one of the following steps to make Maxwell a part of your family. 1. If you have already completed the application process and are an approved adopter with UMGDR, please contact Maxwell’s Placement Coordinator at callie@thegreatdanerescue.com to learn more about him. 2.
