Story
Welcome Apollo to CCPAL Rescue. Apollo is a 12 month old lab/Black Mouth Cur or Shepherd mix dog. He weighs about 40 pounds and has now been moved into the rescue from the Samaritan that found him. She found the entire litter of puppies and has fostered them until we had space. We have already adopted out 4 of this litter. Milo is one of their brothers. Apollo and his brother Orion are very lucky to now be in the rescue. They will get daily interaction with people and a nice routine so they can get used to structure. They were found by a very nice woman but she was too busy to work with the pups. They were and are well cared for but we will be working on leash manners and getting into a daily routine. It is amazing what attention and direction does for a dog. Apollo is good with other dogs. He has lived mostly outdoors but now is getting used to being in a kennel and doing some leash walk training. Apollo is a large dog but on the smaller side of large. He is a little shy at the moment but I do think he will do what all the others in this litter have done, blossom. He could be with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Apollo would be a great walking partner and right now his best home is someone who wants a companion. He would love one on one attention and direction. He responds well and bonds deeply to his human. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200 if we work with the transporters to deliver him to one of their stops. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Kota to CCPAL Rescue. Kota is a 6-month-old and weighs about 30 pounds. He is a Lab/German Shepherd. He should be about 50 or 60 pounds full grown. He should be a large dog full grown. He is cuddly, social and likes attention and being held. These were in foster care until they were vaccinated and ready to come to the rescue. They have had lots of attention from humans which is wonderful. It creates a wonderful puppy that loves humans and their attention. These puppies are smart, soft coats and most have the lab personality with the smartness of the Malinois. They would be great family pets. They can go with children and should be good with them. We like the children to be 8 or older. Puppies are best with people that are home some and not gone 8 hours every day to work. Kota will need to finish up his puppy training, and it would be best if he gets to spend time with his human so he can bond deeply with them. Kota is playing in his play group of 6 puppies. The boys are all bigger than the girls. He also gets to play outside in his play group and does well in a group. These puppies have webbed feet and should be good swimmers. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the east Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Barron to CCPAL Rescue. Barron is a 4.5 month old Mastiff/Great Pyrenees. Barron is extremely affectionate and stunningly beautiful. This whole litter is soft, cuddly and affectionate. Barron would be great with a family with children. This dog has guardian breed, and would be a great family dog. He would be wonderful for a family with a dad that travels and wants to see his family has a dog that will watch out for them. Yeti went to a family with younger children and he is doing great. This is Barron’s brother. We prefer children to be 8 or older. He should be 60 pounds full grown. He likes water, decent on a leash and area trained. He will go on a potty pad. He is good with other dogs bigger than himself. His dad is a Dogo and mom is a Great Pyrenees. He energetic but can calm down and be extremely cuddly and affectionate. He has a soft coat and not a huge shedding dog. He has longer hair a little more like the GP momma. This breed is a guardian breed family even though she shows no signs of guarding anything at the moment. He is getting his vaccinations and will be ready for his forever home soon. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont and all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. This is a very desirable breed. Please be patient when you put in your application. We are being very careful in vetting people and we are a small group of volunteers. Story
Welcome Jazz to CCPAL Rescue. Jazz is a 4-year-old Airedale/Irish Terrier Mix dog. She weighs about 70 pounds and has the scruffy terrier coat. She is not a big shedder and is very friendly. Jazz had an elderly man owner. Her owner is now in hospice so CCPAL was asked to step up for his 3 dogs. Jazz had some loss of hair and is now a health and beautiful dog, thanks to good nutrition and some wonderful vet care. She pulls on leash but is eager to walk and really very social with people. She is picky with her dog friends but hasn’t met a human she doesn’t like. Her previous owner is not doing well and the only option is for all 3 of these dogs to find a new forever home. They are well behaved and have some commands under their belt. Jazz knows sit and is decent on a leash. We do think she is potty trained as she doesn’t go in her kennel. She is very attentive and naturally bonds well with men. She wants to do what you ask and can be an only or go with other dogs. She is a stronger willed than the boy named Jett. She is a wonderful dog. She has lived in a home with two large males and did great. She would be a great companion for someone wanting a active companion that is less of a shedding dog. She is currently in Texas at the CCPAL. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Thursday, May 14th from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.    Cheeto Dust is a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pit Bull mix with a joyful spirit, a whole lot of wiggle, and an endless supply of love. This affectionate, goofy pup brings sunshine into every room — when he gets excited, his whole body wiggles, and it’s impossible not to smile. He absolutely loves to snuggle and is happiest curled up close with his people after a day of play. Cheeto is a smart, eager-to-please boy who already knows commands like sit, down, and go potty. He’s potty trained to go outside and does very well on a routine, though he may have occasional accidents in a few familiar spots as he continues to learn. He’s crate trained, sleeps through the night, and thrives with consistency and continued guidance. During the day, Cheeto is playful, curious, and full of energy. He loves balls, squeaky toys, and any kind of playtime — especially with other dogs off leash, where he truly shines. He does great in the yard, but his adventurous side means he can climb shorter fences or baby gates and will take the opportunity to explore if a gate is left open, so a secure setup and attentive supervision are important. On leash, Cheeto is still learning his manners. He can pull and may bark or growl at other dogs, so continued leash work and obedience training will be key to helping him feel more confident and relaxed. With proper introductions and the right match, he enjoys canine companionship, especially with playful, easygoing dogs. Cheeto is currently living with children and has done best with older kids. While he is very loving, he can become overstimulated and has nipped at younger children to get attention. He also has natural herding tendencies and a high energy level, so he would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids who understand boundaries and can interact with him appropriately. He’s a funny, spirited pup who likes to “help” around the house — especially when it comes to vacuuming and sweeping (his version of helping involves barking at the vacuum and broom). Cheeto is friendly with adults, rides well in the car, and forms strong, affectionate bonds with his people. Cheeto Dust is a loving, energetic, and intelligent pup who will thrive with a family committed to continuing his training and giving him the structure he needs. With patience, consistency, and plenty of play and snuggles, he’s going to grow into an incredible companion. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Frenchi is distinquished older lady who knows her worth! She’s smart, polite, and only barks when she has something important to say, like needing to go outside, wanting back in, or asking for help if she’s stuck somewhere. Frenchi enjoys relaxing and sleeping near other dogs, though she prefers calm companions and doesn’t appreciate playful energy in her face. If another dog gets too close, she delivers her signature “warning sound”—a dramatic mix between a snarl, cough, scream, and reprimand—to request some personal space. It sounds fierce, but Frenchi is truly all talk and no action. While she’s not a big fan of being picked up, she loves being close to her people and happily snoozes next to you on the couch or in your lap once she’s settled. She also enjoys following her foster mom around the house to keep tabs on things. Frenchi is fully potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, does well in a crate, and is highly food motivated—making her both a joy to live with and easy to love.
