Meet Marcella!
Marcella is a beautiful 2-year-old Shiba Inu with a big personality packed into a small-to-medium-sized package. Equal parts sweet, sassy, goofy, and independent, she's guaranteed to keep you smiling with her playful antics. Her favorite trick? Sneaking off with one of your shoes—not to chew it, but to dramatically drop it on the floor when she wants your attention (or thinks it's time for everyone to wake up!).
Marcella is an active, intelligent girl who loves to play. Fetch is one of her favorite games, and she has excellent recall, happily coming when called or even whistled for. If you have a playful dog who loves to wrestle, chase, and romp, Marcella will be in heaven. She spent time with a foster brother where their days were filled with joyful WWE-style wrestling matches and games of chase. She thrives with canine companionship and must have another dog in the home to help her feel happy and confident.
While she's social with other dogs, Marcella can be shy around new people and appreciates having the time and space to warm up at her own pace. Once you've earned her trust, you'll discover a loyal, affectionate companion who loves treats, positive encouragement, and spending time with her family.
Marcella is great with children of all ages and can live with dog-savvy cats given slow, thoughtful introductions. She's fully house-trained, has excellent house manners, and doesn't require a crate. She walks nicely on a leash, enjoys several daily walks, and loves patrolling a securely fenced yard, keeping an eye (and ear!) on everything happening around her. Fair warning—she has plenty to say about neighborhood activity, so she'd do best in a home without shared walls.
When playtime is over, Marcella enjoys settling down with a durable chew toy or cuddling up with one of her many beloved stuffed toys. She also adores being brushed, which is fortunate because her gorgeous double coat sheds seasonally and benefits from regular grooming.
Marcella has experienced two seizures and is successfully managed on phenobarbital twice daily. She takes her medication well and continues to enjoy an active, happy life.
If you're looking for a clever, entertaining, playful companion who will make you laugh every day, keep your shoes on notice, and fill your home with love (and a little commentary), Marcella may be your perfect match!
Marcella is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations appropriate for her age.
