Story
Introducing Dimitri, a dapper, 4 year old Pittie mix available for adoption. Dimitri was brought in by a citizen that had found him as a stray. He was very shy at first but has blossomed and showed us his sweet personality. He quickly bonded with one of our canine vet techs and she showed him that our facility isn't so scary after all. He LOVES to go on walks. It's his absolute favorite thing. He'll sniff, explore, and check out his surroundings while doing his morning exercise. He will also look back at you to check in. Dimitri isn't a fan of other dogs but didn't seem to mind cats. He's more of a mellow fellow than a rough houser. Dimitri has a funny side as he gets super excited for treats when he seems them: all tail wags, bouncing, and eyes lit up. Once you give him the treat though (no matter what kind it is), he'll immediately drop it to the floor with disinterest. We think he just likes the interaction with people and pleasing them when he sits on command. His adoption fee is $235, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, flea/heartworm prevention, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed!

Story
Introducing Severus, an eight month old Husky mix available for adoption. Severus was brought in by a citizen and he was a complete mess. He smelled foul, had patches of fur either missing or matted, a severe skin infection, emaciated, and wasn't quite sure of his new environment. It was very apparent that Severus hadn't been socialized, nor treated well in his short life span. He was just a nervous boy that hadn't experienced things that most other dogs take for granted so our techs got to work and started the whole process. He was placed on antibiotics and medicated bathes. He met other dogs and learned how to play and have fun. He would love to have another buddy at home to teach him the good life of being a dog. He also didn't seem to mind cats. He loves treats and peanut butter. He is learning that he doesn't have to scarf it down and that we promise that there will always be a next meal. Same thing with toys. Severus loves to play with toys and is baffled by the amount of toys that are in our bin. Because he is still adjusting, we are looking for a home without young children (15+ years). His new home should be prepared to take him to training so he can be molded into an outstanding pup. On top of everything, Severus is your typical Husky. Beautiful, eye catching, and full of sass/attitude. Huskies are not for the weak and if you truly know the breed, you understand that sentence and have stories upon stories about the breed. We love his Severus Snape scowl and his little legs (he's definitely mixed with something.. possible pomski maybe?). Severus is looking for a special home and will patiently wait until we find it for him. Until then, he'll enjoy his time with the vet techs and learn the ropes of being a good dog with us. His adoption fee is $265, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, flea/heartworm prevention, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed!

Story
Meet Appalachia, a three year old Pittie that arrived as a stray a few weeks ago. Poor girl was filthy and it was apparent that Appalachia has had several litters of puppies in her lifetime. She looked so sad and defeated when she arrived. She quickly perked up and enjoyed all the care and love she received with staff. She loves her bathes and got extra treats and nomms to help her gain weight. She's a very docile girl and has met several dogs while in our care and didn't seem to mind cats. Appalachia enjoys playgroup but is too mellow for all the rough housing and ruckus. It seems like she hasn't had a lot of typical dog experiences and is learning that it's okay to play with toys and zoom about. She's not timid at all, just lacks the confidence. With reassurance, she'll learn it's okay and experience the life of an indoor, family dog. Her adoption fee is $235, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, current heartworm/flea prevention, and registered microchip. She is already fixed!

Story
Introducing Jude, a two year old Pittie that was sadly left behind and abandoned in her home. Unsure what the story was, we received a call about a dog left in a home and after leaving a notice, she was removed from the home with no signs of her previous family. Jude completed her stray hold at our facility and is hoping to find her a loyal family that will add her as a permanent member to the home. Jude is quite the character and loves to play with toys and zooms around with her canine pals. Wrestling and chase is her favorite with her buddies and she would love to have another doggie brother/sister at home to keep her company. Someone that can keep up with her spirited personality and be down for all the puppy shenanigans. Jude loves treats and will gently take them your hands. She's always up to greeting everyone on her walks to say hello. She is looking for a feline free home as she thinks they are toys, not friends. Her adoption fee is $235, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, current heartworm/flea prevention, registered microchip, and spay.

Story
Our next available pup is Cosmo! Cosmo is our silly boy that's about a year and a half old. He loves to make people laugh and can be quite derpy at times. We love his brindle eye patch and his unique pattern on his cute nose. Cosmo loves to play with other dogs and will happily entice them in a game of play bow and zooms. He should do well with cats with a slow introduction. When he's not out making friends, he's sitting at your feet, being your shadow. He loves treats and will show you his gratitude by licking every little crumb off his face. He's not the most coordinated as he'll let the treat bounce right off his head as catching it midair is too much effort. He's a big snuggle bug and he all he wants to do is make you happy and laugh! It's his comical personality that wins us over. His adoption fee is $235, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, heartworm/flea prevention, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed!

Story
Pax is an eleven year old Border Collie that was adopted from our facility over ten years ago. Unfortunately, he was picked up as a stray and we were thrilled to find a microchip on our ol' man and to see that he was JTAC alumni. Sadly, we weren't able to make contact with his previous adopters, despite phone calls and a notice mailed. With senior animals, we have to take extra precaution because we are usually unaware of their true health status. Thanks to the JJC Vet Tech Program, they were able to do xrays and bloodwork on him. Our vet gave him the clearance to go up for adoption so he is now looking to find his last home to spend his golden years in. Although Pax is an old man, he has PLENTY of pep left and loves to play. Toys, tennis balls, and treats are his favorite and he has no issue working for them. He loves to play fetch and can chase a ball from sun up to sun down. He loves to sit, lay down, give paw, and occasionally bark on command for his treats. He would do great as the only pet so he is looking to be your one and only. If you have a soft spot for senior dogs, Pax is your guy! His adoption fee is $90, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, heartworm test, heartworm/flea prevention, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed!
