Story
Don is here to campaign for the position of “Best Boy Ever,” and honestly… he’s already winning by a landslide. This nine month old Pittie arrived at our facility through no fault of his own, and from day one he has been nothing but a giant sweetheart wrapped in puppy energy. Don’s favorite hobbies include giving unlimited kisses, making his humans proud, and convincing everyone he meets to be his best friend. He absolutely adores other dogs and is always ready to wrestle, zoom, and play until everyone needs a nap. He also does great with kids, making him the total family package. Around the shelter, Don has become the unofficial “Tech Office Intern.” His daily duties include playing with toys, supervising computer work from under the desk, and curling up by your feet for moral support. Unlike some interns, Don doesn’t make messes, doesn’t complain, and happily accepts payment in Cheez-Its. This goofy, lovable boy is still young and ready for all the adventures life has to offer. If you’re looking for a playful companion, professional cuddler, and full-time best friend, Don is ready to clock in for forever. His adoption fee is $200, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, and registered microchip. He is already fixed! Call our office for adoption details at 815-725-0333. Located in Joliet, IL. Don was adopted but returned after a few weeks due to the resident dog not getting along with him. He was too playful and full of little brother syndrome. The adopter loved him but knew he deserved a better fitting home.

Story
Bubblegum is a two-year-old Pittie who is ready to trade in shelter life for a loving forever home where she can finally settle in and be cherished. Bubblegum was found by a kind couple who discovered her alone in a local nature preserve and brought her to our facility for help. Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon situation, as we receive several dogs each year who are abandoned in this area. While we may never know how Bubblegum ended up there, we do know she deserves so much more. After completing her stray hold, this sweet girl is ready for a fresh start with a family who will love her, spoil her, and give her the forever commitment she has been waiting for. From the moment she arrived, Bubblegum showed everyone what a loving and affectionate girl she is. She absolutely adores people and loves spending quality time with her favorite humans. Whether she is going on a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, playing with toys during free time, or simply relaxing under the shade of a tree while rolling around in the grass, Bubblegum is happiest when she is by your side. Bubblegum is a social butterfly who loves meeting new faces and making friends. She also does great with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions to spend time with. This beautiful girl has so much love to give and cannot wait to trade shelter life for a cozy home, a loving family, and a lifetime of adventures. Her adoption fee is $200, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed! Story
Everyone, meet Riot! Riot is a five-month-old Pittie pup who arrived at JTAC as a stray and is now ready to find a forever family of her own! This energetic little lady is full of puppy personality and loves to romp, wrestle, zoom around, and roll in the grass. Riot does great with other dogs and would love having a canine big brother or sister to play with and help show her the ropes. She’s a big fan of toys and has been working hard on her puppy manners and etiquette, including commands like sit, stay, and paw. She’s a smart girl who is eager to learn—especially when fun and treats are involved! As adorable as Riot is, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. Her future family will need to have the time, patience, energy, and commitment needed to raise a young Pittie pup into a happy, well-mannered adult. Training, socialization, exercise, and consistency will all be important as she grows. We hate seeing puppies returned to the shelter before they even celebrate their first birthday. Before adopting Riot, please research the breed, consider your lifestyle, and make sure everyone in the household is ready for the responsibility. Adoption isn`t just a puppy-sized commitment—it`s a promise for the next 10+ years. If you`re ready for the puppy chaos, endless playtime, lots of training, and even more love, Riot might just be your girl! Her adoption fee is $200, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current flea prevention, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed! Story
Meet Lumen, an one year old Pittie mix—or, as we like to say, a mix of a mix! This adorable girl is ready to light up someone`s life and finally find the forever family she`s been waiting for. Lumen was found as a stray in the local area and, sadly, no one ever came looking for her. Now, she`s ready for a fresh start and a place to call home. True to her name, Lumen shines bright, especially with her stunning blue eyes that have earned her the nickname `Headlights.` Her unique look is made even cuter by her adorably quirky ears and petite frame, weighing in at just around 35 pounds. Lumen is a social butterfly who does wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely loves playtime. She is not a fan of cats and would do best in a feline-free home. One of her favorite activities is digging through the toy bin and proudly parading around with her newest treasure as if she`s found the greatest prize in the world. Goofy, affectionate, and full of personality, Lumen has a way of making everyone around her smile. If you`re looking for a fun-loving, eye-catching companion who will fill your days with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love, Lumen might just be your perfect match. Her adoption fee is $200, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed! Story
Meet Hiccup, a two-year-old Chihuahua Terrier mix who is ready to find a loving family of his own! Hiccup came to us after local authorities contacted our shelter about a stray dog in the area, and one of our officers went out to bring him safely to the shelter. Unfortunately, Hiccup had no identification or microchip, and no one reported him missing. We posted him on our stray album and hoped his family would come forward, but sadly, no one ever did. Now, Hiccup is ready to turn the page and find his forever home! He enjoys spending time with other dogs, loves going for walks, and is always happy to curl up in your lap for some quality cuddle time. His adoption fee is $200, which includes his vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and neuter. He is already fixed! Story
Introducing Frost Bite, a 5-month-old Husky puppy with a big personality and an even bigger future ahead of her! Frost Bite was found as a stray and brought to our facility. Surprisingly, no one ever came forward to claim her, so while we may never know her full story, we do know that she is safe, loved, and ready to begin her next chapter. Frost Bite is everything you would expect from a Husky puppy—absolutely adorable with her striking markings, beautiful mismatched eyes, and outgoing personality. She is also full of sass, mischief, and isn`t shy about using her voice to let you know exactly how she feels! She does well with other dogs and enjoys the company of people of all ages. We know Frost Bite will receive plenty of interest simply because she`s a puppy and a highly sought-after breed, but we cannot stress this enough: please do your research and honestly evaluate your lifestyle before committing to adoption. Bringing home a puppy is a commitment that can last 10 years or more. Too often, we see puppies returned before their first birthday because they have `too much energy,` `got bigger than expected,` or because their families didn`t have the time or resources needed for training and socialization. Huskies, in particular, are a challenging breed that require dedicated owners who can meet both their physical and mental needs. They thrive with consistent training, proper socialization, exercise, and plenty of enrichment. Frost Bite is a wonderful puppy with endless potential, but she is looking for a family that is prepared for all the adventures—and challenges—that come with raising a Husky. If you`re ready to put in the time and commitment, you`ll gain a loyal, intelligent, and unforgettable companion. Her adoption fee is $280, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current flea prevention, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed!
