Story
This adorable little guy is Sammy, a 2-5 year old, mixed breed pup who is friendly, sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and playful. He is a wonderful companion! Sammy loves to go for walks,  loves to run and play, and go for car rides with the window open for some fresh air. He is housebroken, is well mannered when his foster leaves the house, and is potty trained.  Did we already say he loves to cuddle! Sammy’s foster mom says, “As soon as you sit down, Sammy jumps in your lap and throws his head back to give you kisses.” In addition, Sammy wants to be where you are so he’ll follow you around the house to hang out with you. He loves to eat, but can be a bit of a picky eater.  Although Sammy gets along generally well with the other dog in his foster home, he is possessive of food; therefore, his foster mom separates the dogs for meal times so there is no conflict. She also does not leave bones laying around to cause rivalry. When Sammy’s foster mom leaves the house, she keeps the dogs separated so there are no conflicts. Although Sammy can live with another dog, we think he would be perfectly content as the only dog in the home.   Sammy is a rescued stray, is afraid of loud noises and fire works, and can be a runner (fast pup)  so we are requiring his adopter have a securely fenced yard for toileting breaks and play time. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, been provided inoculations, been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases (negative), as well as has been dewormed, neutered and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST from acaringplace@comcast.net A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. Story
Freya was originally a southern bell that was rescued from Tornadoes in Tennessee a couple years ago. She was brought to a Shelter in the Chicago Suburbs in September of 2024. I adopted her in January of 2025. She was quickly enrolled in dog training classes as a puppy and has been consistently been going to doggy daycare since her adoption - There she makes quick friends and discovered a passion for other dogs. She is really, really good with other dogs and people with other dogs as well. Freya is a cautious dog, due to her herding nature and very vigilant in looking out for loved ones and her territory. As such, she does require some coaxing when meeting new people - But if a stranger completely ignores her, she warms up to them incredibly fast. Less is more with Freya. Freya loves hiking, walks, food (Very food Motivated), tricks, playing, and has recently started playing frisbee. Due to health and financial reasons, I need to surrender her to a new family.

Story
This beautiful pup is BONNIE, a very sweet, initially shy,  3-year-old, 17 pound, spayed female, Maltese/Poodle cross. Bonnie lives in a foster home with two adults and two teens, plus a few dogs of varying sizes and ages, all with whom she gets along. She is a loving, gentle, sweet dog who wants to be with her people whenever possible. She has good house manners and is respectful. As we have gotten to know Bonnie, we have determined that she requires a calm household that has another gentle dog who can be her buddy, and where people are home more than not.        Because Bonnie's first owners didn't socialize her with other people when she was young, Bonnie is insecure meeting new people. Taking things slowly with her is essential - and it works! Once Bonnie is comfortable, she is very sweet and friendly. She enjoys going for walks but continues to display insecurity and fear of unknown people. She would benefit from continued gentle training to help her not find the world such a scary place. Bonnies foster family is taking her for short walks to help her have positive experiences.     Bonnie is housebroken. She was previously trained to use potty pads for toileting but is now trained to go outside on the grass. Bonnie really enjoys spending time in the backyard. She is a bit of a barker so she is not appropriate for apartment/condo living, nor a home with young children. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, been tested for diseases, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request at acaringplace@comcast.net   Bonnie requires a calm home that has another dog with whom to socialize and a securely fenced yard.   A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. Story
Hi! My name is Fergie. I'm just a big ole love bug! Yup! That's me! I'm a 1-1/2 year-old, Boxer Bully mix with reddish color fur, a white splotch on my face and around my neck down my chest, four white paws, a paintbrush tail with a white tip, and a pink muzzle. Even though I'm around 50 pounds, I believe I am definitely a lapdog. I'm very sweet and gentle, and I just love people!  I love running around the yard, playing with my canine siblings and human kiddos, and chewing bones. But....my favorite activity is cuddling with humans on the couch! Oh, and I love napping and treats too. I do well walking on a leash, am crate trained, and am housebroken. By the way, my foster Mom says I am also a good watch dog because I bark when there is someone or something outside. I sleep well at night with no accidents and go in my crate on command during the day while my foster mom's at work. I love sleeping on the bed curled up with my canine sisters and humans.  So a really cool thing is that I am learning how to ring a bell to let my foster Mom know I need to go outside. I already know sit and I'm working on the command off. Off is a little hard for me, because I get so excited when I meet someone new, but I almost have it down. I'm pretty good at coming when I'm called too, but sometimes I get distracted. Would you like to share a forever home with lots of cuddles and sloppy dog kisses? Then, I'm your girl! I hope I get to meet you soon! Because Fergie-Faye does great with other dogs of many sizes, we are seeking an adopter with another playful dog in the home. Fergie has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, been tested for diseases, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped; she is housebroken and crate trained. Story
Petite pup seeking a chest to lay on or the back of your recliner to share with you. Introducing Teddy, a 3-4 year old, 6 pound, Morkie (Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier cross) who has a silky-soft cream colored non-shedding coat. Teddy is a nice balance of being independent and being  snuggly - he is playful and loving to his people.     One of Teddy’s favorite places to lay is on the back of his foster mom’s recliner chair. He lives happily and harmoniously in a foster home with several other small dogs; from time to time he can be a little bossy with them but is easily corrected. Teddy enjoys playing tug with toys as well as playing chase with the other dogs in the yard. He will “over-see” the other dogs’ activities throughout the day, have a good cuddle with his foster mom, and take a nap sleeping under his blanket.      Teddy has some emotional scars from the life he lived prior to rescue causing him to not initially trust people he doesn’t know, so he will a couple weeks to settle-in with his new owner to feel safe and secure. He deserves a wonderful new life; can you help his dream come true? ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Adult only household, and securely fenced yard. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, dewormed, groomed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped.
