Story
Hi this is Ghost he is a 6 year old husky. He is very playful and affectionate and actually very quiet compared to a typical husky. He has a few health issues like glaucoma in his one eye and matting but that will be taken care of before adoption. He currently lives in a household with younger children and is good with them and other dogs, unsure how he is around other animals such as cats and small mammals. He is a amazing family dog and will be a great addition to anyones life, unfortunately we do not have the time we need to dedicate to him.

Story
Meet Raven — the senior Boxer mix with a heart as big as her gentle soul. Life hasn’t been the kindest, as she was found abandoned at an intersection, but she’s ready to find a soft, loving place to call her own. Raven is a shy lady at first, needing a little time to feel safe, but once she warms up, she shows her sweet, playful side. She loves people, enjoys exploring, and still has plenty of energy for walks and outdoor adventures. If you’re looking for a tender, goofy companion who’s equal parts snuggler and explorer, Raven is your girl.Dogs: No thank you! I find them annoying. Cats: UnknownKids: Older, respectful kids. Younger kids may be too much for me.

Story
Meet Elliot. We are guessing he is a 2 year old Australian shepherd/lab mix with maybe some hound or even Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. No matter his breed he is 100% good boy! He is a great size at 50 pounds. Elliot came into the shelter as a stray. He can be nervous in new situations so an adult only home or one with older children would be ideal. As he gains trust in his people his personality really starts showing. He is a goofy boy who loves to be near his humans. He would do well in an active house and may even thrive in dog sports like agility. He is still learning proper manners like not to jump on people or play nip. He also does not understand the concept of personal space. We are working on these. Elliot is slowly learning about toys and how to play with them, instead on hands. Elliot does well on leash. He can pull some, especially when seeing another dog or critter, but does better when using a no pull harness. He rides well in the car so may make a great adventure buddy! He is a great mix of active and snuggle bug. Once he gets his energy out he loves nothing more than to nap on the couch by his person. He does really enjoy running around in his fenced in yard. He has been having a blast in all the snow! Elliot had some marking in the house when he first came home, but he has been doing great with potty training since then. We do try to let him out more frequently when we are home, but he can go for 6-7 hours while we work. He is crated at night and when we are not home. He whines a bit, but does seem to settle down. Elliot is currently living with 2 smaller dogs. He overall is doing very well with them. He can be a little possessive with food and treats so feeding separately is recommended. Otherwise he loves to play with his foster brother and torment his foster sister. He can be a little over bearing, and doesn’t seem to understand when the other dogs have had enough. We do not know about cats. Elliot is going to be a great companion. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Annie at 815-685-0746. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Blue is an attractive, male, 28 pound Blue Heeler who is about 3-4 years old. People he meets on his neighborhood walks frequently comment on what a beautiful dog he is. Blue loves to go to the dog park where he runs playfully with all the other dogs. He is friendly and interactive. When he meets other dogs while he is on a leash, he is more apt to be reactive. Blue is a sweet pooch who will bond strongly with his family. When he first meets people he is cautious and worried that their outreached hands mean they will hit him, not pet him. He would live best with a person or family with a fenced in yard and without small children and cats. Is Blue housebroken? Well, sort of. He can sleep through the night with no problem at all. During the day he has to pee shortly after drinking water. He is on a water/pee schedule to manage this. He eats a prescription dog food that keeps his chronic GI condition in check. Blue is a smart dog who would benefit from formal dog training sessions with his new owner. This would encourage the bonding process between them and help him learn the behaviors that are expected of him. With consistency, patience and understanding, Waylon will give back to ‘his person’ unlimited affection and devotion. If you would like to meet him, contact Teri at 630-897-7454. His adoption fee is $150. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
