Story
Deacon was first adopted at Naperville area Humane society as a stray. We’re not sure how old he was at the time, he may be 3 yrs old. Deacon would love to have a backyard to run and play fetch or even have zoomies with you! Deacon loves going on walks and playing inside. Deacon is truly a sweetheart and is always excited to see people he knows. He likes to ask for head scratches or sit right next to you. I believe Deacon would thrive in a home that can be more attentive to his playfulness. Deacon has potential to learn more commands. He is crate trained and knows basic commands.

Story
This little guy is confident and sweet. He WANTS to be cuddled. But when it is time to play, he is all about play time. He is the sidekick to his little sister Frankie. Jimmy is her right hand dog and partner in crime. He is so happy and excited when you are holding him. He gets a little wiggly and squirmy in your arms because he is just so excited. And he would love to give you as many sweet kisses as you will let him. Jimmy came from a home where there human Dad was frail and in poor health. He loved all the pups but didn't have enough time for each pup and didn't have enough resources to meet all of their vetting needs. Jimmy and his littermates are still learning about manners. There are a lot NO being told to them. No nips, no arguing, no wrestling, No, No, No....lol. The pups are also learning about potty training. All of them have come a long way from being loose and going wherever they wanted to now very successfully going straight to a potty pad! They are catching on quickly!! And NOW Jimmy has graduated to exiting the back door and go straight to his spot to potty in the backyard. But Jimmy's new family needs to understand that this is an ongoing process and accidents WILL HAPPEN. Jimmy has also learned about sleeping in his kennel for naps and bedtime. He quickly curls up in his kennel and sleeps like a baby from 10pm until 7am. He is also understands to not potty in his kennel. He is a champ! And they are still learning about being inside a house. The easy part to get use to is always having food and water and nice comfy bed place. The harder things to understand were the weird noises like the coffee grinder, like the beeping of the washer and dryer when the cycle is done, etc. Now, they are all pros at these sounds. But, still not use to when someone knocks at the door. Again, they are all learning and with time, love, and patience and EXPOSING them these things, they will understand and not be so easily startled All of Jimmy's' vetting has been done by my personal dogs' vet. The following is a list of what has been done for Jimmy. Neutered All 4 - DA2PP shots (Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (Hepatitis), Parvo, and Parainfluenza) Bordatella shot Rabies shot Dewormed Tested, Treated (if needed), and retested for giardia and coccidia Iverhart heartworm preventative Simparica fleas and ticks preventative Chipped There are two categories of vaccines: “core” vaccines that are recommended for all pets, and “non-core vaccines” which may be recommended by your vet based on lifestyle and exposure risk. The core vaccine for dogs is the Rabies vaccine, which is required by law. The second core vaccine for dogs is often referred to as the DA2PP or DHPP vaccine. This stands for “Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (Hepatitis), Parvo, and Parainfluenza”, meaning that this vaccine protects against FOUR different diseases. It is especially important for puppies to begin a series of DA2PP vaccines at six to eight weeks of age, as natural immunity obtained from the mother decreases and puppies become very susceptible to potentially life-threatening diseases such as Canine Parvovirus (Parvo). Parvo is transmitted through feces and can remain in the environment for at least one month, and up to a year if the conditions are right. This means that puppies do not need to be directly exposed to another dog that has Parvo in order to contract the disease, and caution is advised when choosing where and how to socialize and exercise your pup. We recommend avoiding exposure to unknown dogs or public places until your puppy has finished their vaccine series. BUT, all A.M.O.R. puppies (1 year old and less) have all FOUR shots. They are safe to join you and your family on your outdoor adventures and you can rest at ease. Non-core vaccines for dogs include Bordetella, Influenza, Leptospirosis and Lyme. The Bordetella (aka: Kennel Cough) help to prevent highly-contagious respiratory diseases, and are essential for dogs that may be exposed to other dogs, especially in group settings such as dog parks, daycare, or boarding facilities. All A.M.O.R. dogs and puppies are given a Bordatella vaccine. Bordatella boosters are given every 6 months. https://www.thedrakecenter.com/services/dogs/parasites/deworming-dogs The above link is to provide you information regarding why deworming is so important for all dogs of all ages (and for their families). All A.M.O.R.s are dewormed upon entering the rescue and then again 5 days before their health certificate visit (when they have been adopted and ready to travel). This dewormer is issued per our vet. And all pets are tested, treated (if needed), and retested for coccidia and giardia. A.M.O.R. provides you with this information so that you can be aware of the work and love that is given to each pet. Each puppy has visited the vet AT LEAST 5 times during their stay with us. They have seen the vet 4 times for their shots and will see the vet 1-2 more times prior to transport in order to obtain a health certificate for travel. Adult dogs have seen the vet AT LEAST 3 times. Two visits for their shots and 1-2 visits prior to transport in order to obtain a health certificate. Are you ready to cuddle with sweet Jimmy?? All animals receive a health certificate (stating that a licensed veterinarian saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel, but is not a promise of perfect health). Please email for an A.M.O.R. application in order to be considered. Please note: this pet is located out of state.

Story
Leo and his canine mother and littermates were saved by a kind woman who saw the mother wandering the streets looking for food. The woman soon realized that the canine mother was pregnant. So, instead of turning away and ignoring the poor dog, the woman took in the preggie momma. Luckily for preggo canine momma she did that because within a few weeks, the momma gave birth to 6 little puppies. It may seem that there are no troubles now for the momma and her babies but that was not the case. The kind woman did not really have the funds to care for them properly. So, none of the puppies nor the momma had ever seen the vet prior to A.M.O.R. helping them out. And, the kind woman also didn't have enough money at times to buy them food. And all of this became too much for this woman especially once she fell ill. So, this is where A.M.O.R. was asked for help. As soon as we were contacted, vet appointments were made for their shots and spay and neuter. And after three weeks, they were then moved in to the A.M.O.R. rescue. Since moving in to the rescue, Leo has gained some confidence and has gained a bit more weight. He is still a shy puppy but not as much as before. He is definitely a happy boy but can be very reserved at first meeting. It will take him some time to come around to men. There was very little men contact with Leo for the first 4 months of his life. So, this is something that his new family will need to be patient. Due to the fact that they did not have vetting the first 4months of their lives, Leo was not allowed to go outside. He was taught to go on a pee pad inside the home. BUT, he is now learning to go outside for the bathroom. His family with need to understand that this is still an on going process and accidents will still happen. Leo has also been working on his kennel training. He understands that his sleep space is not the same place to potty. But, again, accidents will happen. For the most part, his kennel time is pee and poop free! Leo goes to bed by 10pm in his kennel and is a happy puppy at wake up time for 7am. He happily exits the backyard door to quickly find his spot and take care of his morning business. Then it is puppy play time for about an hour and then breakfast. After breakfast, he again plays with the other dogs and puppies in the rescue. Once he is done, he sits to the side and watches the others play. When it is nap time around 10isham, we scoop him up and place him in a kennel where he sleeps for a good 2-3 hours. And then we do it all over again for lunch, dinner, and evening cuddles. Leo will do best in a home that is dog savvy. Due to Leo being unsure of men and not being around them for much of his life, Leo will need the male figure in his life to be calm and secure, strong but not overbearing, quiet but his energy speaks louder than words....a PACK LEADER. Leo would like to have his very own forever family...are you his family??? All of Leo's vetting has been done by my personal dogs' vet. The following is a list of what has been done for Leo. Story
**Currently in new home trial*****Pending Perm. Placement**I would like to start off by saying, Libby is not an active dog. She does love to play, go on short walks 4-5 blocks tops, & loves the dog park (15-30 minutes). She sleeps a lot & is mostly a very low energy dog. She has been my emotional support for 2 years & helps me get up from the ground. She is used to being with someone all the time. She does very well left home alone for up to 8 hours. She is not destructive, but she is more human than dog. She great with children & other pets as long as they are respectful. Libby tolerates other dogs' bad behavior. She is not aggressive, and she is very polite. I would prefer to rehome her with a special needs family or veteran that suffers from PTSD. Her training consisted of personalized attention, treat rewards, & praise. She is a 2-year-old spayed, female old English Bulldogge. I will be very particular as to whom I rehome her with because she is an amazing dog.

Story
Acheron was accepted into the rescue as a stray from local law enforcement and guessed to be an English Bulldog mix. He was neglected and has been getting pampered during his road to recovery!  See the before and healing photos of this sweet boy!  This people loving boy is just a young guy with his whole life ahead of him to give you a gazillion kisses! Throughout vet visits, medications and baths, he has been such a "lovebug" and is so friendly to everyone he meets! "Ach" gets along with other "big" dogs and would love to be an only dog as well, but, definitely no cats or small dogs for him.  Kids will need to be 12+ as he just doesn't realize his strength!  He is an active young guy at approximately 2.5 years old and about 40lbs and is obsessed with playing ball so get your arm in shape! We recommend obedience training for all dogs! **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived without either parent.  Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Please ensure your current pets are up to date with vetting, have landlord/HOA approval and are prepared to take your new family member home at the adoption appointment. Thank you for your interest!      If you are interested in adoption, please complete the "Application to Adopt" which can be accessed from this link: (     www.magnificentmutts.org    )  No phone calls please, emails only.
