Tallulah is a gorgeous Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix who’s just shy of 3 years old and ready to melt your heart. Her foster family says she may be shy at first, but once she warms up, she becomes an absolute cuddle bug. Tallulah is incredibly smart and picks up new things quickly—she even learned to ring a bell to go outside after just a few tries! She’s house trained, crate trained, and already knows sit and down, and she’s working on stay along with a few other cues. This sweet girl does get scared easily and needs a home where she’ll feel safe, protected, and loved. Loud noises and new experiences can be overwhelming for her, but with gentle exposure and patient reassurance, she’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. Tallulah is a sensitive, affectionate, and intelligent companion who’s ready to thrive with a calm, caring family by her side. When Tallulah arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, she tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Tallulah to be during treatment and recovery is with a loving, forever family. If you choose to adopt her, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The process from detection to final treatment generally takes about three months and includes simple at-home steps to help keep Tallulah safe while she heals. The final step is a follow-up test six months after her treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful, and the staff fully expects Tallulah to make a complete recovery! And just so you know, Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal through mosquitoes. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! Koda is a handsome mini Husky/Shepherd mix who’s about 6 months old and still under 20 pounds, making him the perfect medium-size-in-the-making pup! Over the past week, his foster has watched him blossom from a shy guy into a playful, energetic puppy who’s really coming into his own. Koda loves his stuffed toys and enjoys tennis balls and pickleballs—though he prefers chewing on them rather than playing fetch. Like many puppies his age, he’s in the “fingers and toes are fascinating” phase and can be a little nippy, but he’s learning quickly. Curious yet cautious, Koda enjoys exploring his surroundings and also loves cuddles, pets, and hanging out with his people. He’s doing great with potty training and has been good about letting his foster know when he needs to go outside. Koda is learning sit and stay and practices his manners at mealtime by sitting (and staying) before getting his food. He does wonderfully in his crate—no trouble going in or staying in, minimal whining, and no destructive chewing. With his sweet personality, growing confidence, and eagerness to learn, Koda is an amazing puppy who’s ready to thrive in a loving forever home!
