Story
Introducing TROY, a very handsome Pit Bull Terrier mix who is around 4-5 years of age and weighs about 48 pounds. We ran a DNA test for Troy and he is a mixture of American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, and "Supermutt". Troy is a very loving dog who wants to snuggle and be close to his foster family. He lives with two medium/small dogs and a female Pit Bull mix, as well as two children under the age of 13; he gets along with the other dogs but doesn't "need" another dog to be happy. Troy loves playing frisbee, chasing his tennis ball, or playing with his rope toy in the fenced yard. In addition, he absolutely loves going on long walks - which he currently gets twice a day. He would make a great running/jogging partner too. Troy is a smart dog who learns quickly and knows commands like sit, shake, down, and stay. For inside the home, Troy does best in a calm home. Troy needs a patient slow introduction with new people and new dogs because he is cautious; once he get to know a person, he loves them unconditionally. Troy's adopter will need to be a knowledgeable prior dog owner who can be a leader for Troy. He is approved for households with adults and children over 13. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, is current on inoculations, been tested for diseases and placed on monthly Heartworm preventative, plus neutered and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS available by request at acaringplace@comcast.net.  A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     April 8, 2024, 7:49 pm

Story
Introducing WILLOW, a wonderful 6 1/2 year old, 70 pound Pit Bull Terrier mix who is calm and quiet, and doesn't like a lot of commotion. She is a gentle, sweet girl who will make a great addition to most adult households. Willow's favorite time of day is when she gets to go for a long walk on the nature trail with her foster dad; she really enjoys spending that time outside, smelling the air, and watching the wildlife. In addition, Willow enjoys simply being with her person whether he's on the floor meditating or hanging out watching TV with Willow laying next to him and snuggling. Willow has good house manners and does not require crating when her foster dad leaves the house. Willow would enjoy a fenced-in yard too; she previously lived with a German Shepherd for most of her life so we think she would be OK living with another similar sized dog who is calm and easy-going. Willow is initially timid meeting new people, but once she gets to know you, she is very loyal and loving. She is approved for households with adults and children over 12 years of age. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, been wormed, tested for diseases, spayed, and microchipped. Story
This cutie is Dixie, a 6 year old, 50 pound Pit Bull mix who is short in stature, and as sweet as pie with a little bit of spunk thrown in. Dixie loves giving kisses, really enjoys going for walks, playing with toys, and exploring and relaxing in the fenced in yard. Dixie warms up quickly to women and older children. When excited, she’ll get the zoomies and make the cutest noises. Dixie has been playful with most of the dogs in her foster home; she would be OK as the “one and only” dog in the home. She has good house manners and does not need to be crated when left alone.  Dixie came to our rescue after a neglectful owner kept her in the basement as a “breeding machine” for years. Despite that horrible existence, it did not affect her from being one of the sweetest little dogs. She will make a great addition to most households and is approved for households with children over the age of 10.  This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided inoculations, been tested for disease, had a blood panel run (healthy), been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. Story
This handsome boy is Ralph, a Pit Bull Terrier/ Labrador Retriever/Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier mix (DNA results) who is around 3 years old and weighs around 73 pounds. Ralph is absolutely stunning and is quite loyal; he listens very well, knows quite a few commands, and is completely housebroken. Ralph loves to romp around outside, exploring and playing with his foster fur mates. He absolutely loves people and kids and is content to lay with them as the kids read a book to him.  Ralph is the king of his castle so he'd be best as the only dog in the home, but he LOVES to have play dates with other doggie friends. In addition, Ralph enjoys going for walks in the woods with his doggie buddies. Ralph would make a wonderful companion for someone who likes to run and or hike, and is home more often than not. He is just an all-around great dog.  Ralph has been examined by our veterinarians, provided inoculations, been tested for diseases and worms, been neutered, and microchipped. Story
A bit of sassy and spunk is how we’d describe this adorable, handsome guy, PAXTON. He’s a 6 year old, 10-pound, Australian Terrier mix at best guess. Paxton absolutely loves to play with other dogs (small and medium sizes), and can be a little bit dominant at first, but settles quickly. He can be a bit timid when meeting people initially but warms up very quickly - once he gets to know you he’s your best friend. Paxton absolutely loves to run the yard with the other dogs and chase critters, and will play with all his toys in the home. He walks nicely on a leash and is not a big barker. Paxton has had a difficult time getting potty training down, but he easily wears his assortment of fashionable belly bands in different colors and patterns. He was recently diagnosed with an exceptionally small bladder which the veterinarian thinks could be the reason Paxton struggles; despite this, he is very healthy. So, this cutie struts around looking hip with his colorful belly-bands and continues working on potty training. He just may be one of those dogs that gets to look stylish and prefers a fashionable belly band.  The ideal adopter will have another small to medium sized, playful dog in the home, and a securely fenced yard for playtime. Paxton appears to have been not treated too kindly in his past, so he’d appreciate an understanding adopter to help him feel secure and loved. He is so worth the time and effort - he’ll love you forever!  This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, been provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Our online application is not functioning currently; therefore ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.   We apologize for the inconvenience.   A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. Story
Introducing OREO - the sweetest and most loving little Silky Terrier mix. He’s around 3 years old and weighs approximately 8 pounds. Oreo is a total lap dog - happiest to be with his person whether laying on their lap or the side of your leg; he’s also content to lay at your feet in the dog bed. Oreo’s foster mom says that he is “SO SWEET!”  Oreo loves people and is great with other dogs, including large ones, albeit preferring calmer ones; he can also live easily with kitties because he ignores them. Oreo enjoys playing with toys and actually carries them around the house.  This cutie will need a home where people are home more than not, and a fenced in yard for bathroom breaks. He walks easily on a leash, is crate trained and enjoys the comfort of sleeping in his crate with an open door (his space). Oreo will require regular grooming, approximately every 3 months or sooner. Due to Oreo’s small size, we have approved him for households with children 12 years and older. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases and parasites, provided vaccines, been dewormed, neutered, and microchipped.
