Meet Gracie – A Loyal Heart Looking for Her Safe Place
Gracie is passionate about protecting her people and her furry siblings as well as her environment. She enjoys spending her time relaxing or cuddling with the occasional rough housing session with her foster sister. She likes interactive toys with treats, but also likes to chew on cardboard or wood (will find it in yourhome if left alone). Gracie is selective of her playmates, but has and continues to show great strides with this with consistent training.
New situations and busy environments can be overwhelming for Gracie, so she’s searching for a quiet home with an experienced adopter who understands guardian breeds and is committed to continuing her training with patience and consistency. Her protective nature makes her an excellent companion for someone seeking a devoted, one-on-one connection.
Gracie does love chewing and needs to be kenneled or in an enclosed room when left alone. She is muzzle trained for unfamiliar environments which helps her feel safe in unfamiliar situations. It's important her future family is comfortable continuing this practice. Gracie does love chewing and would need to be kenneled or in an enclosed room when left alone.
Gracie isn’t looking for a social life—she’s looking for her person. Someone who will respect her boundaries, appreciate her loyalty, and give her the peaceful home she deserves. In return, she’ll be your fiercest protector and most loyal friend. She will do best in a home with guardian breed experience. Her adopter needs to be patient and allow her to adapt to her new environment at her own pace. Gracie can be around children as long as they are old enough to understand and respect her boundaries. Gracie would be fine alone or in a house with another non-dominant medium or larger breed female (can be a puppy), but would not do well with smaller breeds as she sees them as prey, however she continues to show progress with accepting more dogs. While she doesn't require a fenced yard, it would be recommended as she does have a prey drive for smaller animals like squirrels.
