Story
Meet Snow White! 55 lbs 1 year Snow White is quite the catch!! This pretty girl hasn’t had any accidents in her foster home, does great in her crate, and loves other dogs. She likes to play with other dogs but doesn’t come on too strong. Snow White is a young dog and as such loves her play time, but she tires out and loves to spend time snuggling with her humans and other dogs. She loves her toys and playing fetch! She is very good at fetching and bringing the toy back to you, excited to keep playing. Snow White does good with kids but would be best with kids older than 5 years old as the littler kids make her nervous. Snow White rarely barks! And loves car rides. She is good on a leash. She’s pretty much amazing!!! Adopt Snow White so you can see the most adorable head tilt ever, every day! Interested in adopting? Submit an adoption application on our website rescuedrascalsil.org! We will review your application at our earliest convenience. If your application is selected, we will contact you for a phone interview. Story
Meet Tito! 2 years 43 lbs Tito is a very sweet, lovable boy who loves to give hugs. He is house trained, as long as you look for small cues like looking at the back door. He doesn't mind his crate overnight and will walk right in for a treat. He does very well with the older resident dog; however, he would be thrilled in a home with a younger dog who wants to play! He also loves chewing bones and playing with his favorite duck. He is easily motivated by training treats. He enjoys walks each day and is very good on a leash. Tito would thrive in a home with a family who has time to play fetch every day. He's a quick learner and returns the ball most of the time. At the end of the day, he enjoys lounging in the evening with his foster family. Tito has been with Rescued Rascals since October 2023, and hasn’t had any interest! We are stumped as to how this good boy hasn’t been scooped up yet! If you're looking for a good boy who loves to cuddle and be part of the family, look no further! Interested in adopting? Story
Meet Shayla! 1 year 35 lbs Hello! My name is Shayla. I am such a happy and full of life girl! I am great with other dogs, especially if they’ll play with me! I am good with kids too, but older kids would be best since I can be pretty energetic and might be too much for littler kids. She does get the Zoomies now and then which is always fun to watch! A good walk or play time does help get Shayla’s energy out and bring out her snuggly side! Shayla is crate trained, and every time you go to take her out, you will be greeted with a ton of love! She is potty trained as long as you take her outside every time she comes out of the crate. This girl is super smart and combined with that she is also very food motivated! Shayla is a big snuggler with her humans, she really loves her people. She also loves having a doggy companion by her side to show her the ropes. Shayla is great at keeping her foster brother busy by playing tug with him! A super cute thing about Shayla is when she starts to get sleepy she nuzzles on her own legs, and it’s always a sign that she’s getting ready for a nap or bedtime! This girl is sure to bring a ton of joy and fun to her forever family! Interested in adopting? Submit an adoption application on our website rescuedrascalsil.org! Story
Hi! My name is Serena and a ~1.5 year old Lab / Shepherd mix. I weigh 77 lbs so I guess you could say I'm a big girl. As you can see by my pictures, I am all black except my paws, which are sable coloring like a Shepherd. I was found as a stray and picked up by a local animal shelter. TAR pulled me out of the shelter because they know large-breed, dark colored dogs are the last to be adopted out of a shelter environment. I'm in a foster home that has other dogs, cats and I do very well with them. When I see other big dogs, I get very excited and will bark. Small dogs are more my speed, and I make friends with them right away. Silly Serena is my nickname because I get silly. I know SIT, and then I'll give you one of my paws, and then - just for the heck of it - I go silly, and I roll over on my back and get you to rub my belly. I also want to be a lap dog. I know, 77 lbs. frtis a big lap dog, but Im sweet, silly and loving and just want to snuggle with my humans. I am also housetrained! I'm a real lady and I will tell you I have to go potty - I will whine or give out a bark. I havent had any accidents in my foster home. I am also crate trained, and that is where I get my meals, nice treats and I catch up on my beauty sleep in my foster home. All my foster Mom has to say is "Serena, go kennel".See, not only am I beautiful I am also smart! In the house, I am very quiet unless all the other dogs are barking. But outside? Oh, thats a different story. When Im playing outside and I see all the kids walking by or running around - my foster home is right by a school - and lots of cars, I get excited and that is when I bark. I have a really loud bark! So, Im a good deterrent, because the bad guys dont know Im just playful and silly. I've learned the command NO BARK. My foster Mom says I'm super smart and a quick learner. Due to my breed and my loud bark, a single-family home is best for me. A fenced yard would be ideal, though a run in a protected yard could also work. I take food very gently but when I get excited, I do jump. I am sweet and would probably do well with kids who are at least 5 years old, due to my size - that's a lot of weight jumping on a little tyke, and I might accidentally knock over a toddler. If you tell me "Serena, OFF" I listen. See, not only am I pretty - but I'm also a smart cookie! I could use a little help in walking on a leash. I do pull, but I am such a quick learner, and so smart, I know in a short time I will learn to walk more nicely on a leash. So, if you are looking for a big dog to make you laugh and to protect and snuggle with you, then I am your gal. So, what do you say? Ready for silliness? All you gotta to do is complete an application and our fun times begin! xoxo, Serena Serena is located in our foster home in Aurora. Story
We adopted Mona after having a baby and she was about 3 months old at the time. She is now 10 months old. She ended up not being a dog that we can keep up with! She would do best in a home without young children atleast until better trained. Needs a couple or individual with the time, energy, space and patience that she requires. Must have experience with puppies and young active dogs. She completed 6 weeks of training and periodic training at home but we just don't have the time and space for her to thrive in. She is vocal and understands some commands like sit, leave it..but needs more of behavior training. She is potty trained and crate trained. No physical or health related issues. ..
