Story
Hi, I’m Beth and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family.  This is what they know about me so far.   Dog’s Name: Beth Location: Plano, Il. Date of Birth: 02/14/2021 Gender: Female Breed:  Mastiff Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: 140 Gets along with: Dogs?: All dogs Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: Kids over 8 Training: Leash trained: We're working on it Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty Trained: Indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in car Has good recall Meet Beth – The Goofy, Gentle Giant! Beth is a stunning brindle Mastiff with a heart as big as her paws!  Beth’s journey to us began after a devastating house fire left her former family without a place where dogs were allowed. Recently having had puppies and surrendered at a shelter, Beth has shown nothing but grace, sweetness, and an eagerness to love. Beth is the definition of a people-pleaser. She adores being petted, leans in for affection, and takes her nap schedule very seriously. At roughly 140 lbs, she doesn’t quite realize her size yet, but she’s learning quickly that sitting next to you is just as good as sitting on you. When she’s excited, she taps her feet in a happy little dance that is sure to win your heart. She is potty trained, crate trained at night, and behaves beautifully when left out—no chewing, no mischief, just naps and gentle curiosity. Beth has no aggression whatsoever and gets along well with other dogs. She enjoys cuddling with toys but won’t destroy them, making her a wonderfully easy companion. Her compatibility with cats is unknown, and due to her size and tendency to lean into affection, she would do best with older children. Beth would be a wonderful match for a first-time giant breed owner—she’s gentle, forgiving, and eager to please. She doesn’t require a fenced yard and would thrive in a home that offers plenty of couch time, cuddles, and companionship. She’ll fit in beautifully as an only dog or as part of a multi-dog household. If you’re looking for a sweet, soothing, oversized best friend who will dance for joy when you walk into the room, Beth may just be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Buffy has been in our family since she was just a few months old. She is now 8! We rescued her as a pup. She is a sweet and loving puppy who loves her sister Molly, and her little humans. Since having kids in our family, our lifestyle has not matched her needs. Buffy is a dog who loves attention, playing and being active. With work and family Buffy has a harder time with our current lifestyle. She also has seasonal allergies that get bad in the summer and needs additional care during the summer months to treat those. Buffy has been great with kids, with other dogs and with families. She can take a minute to warm up but with attention she will become your friend which.
