Story
Fiona needs a loving home, that has time for her. She is such a loving girl, we can’t keep her we both have very busy schedules & a toddler. We found Fiona 2 months ago. We have been trying to find a home for her since we found her. Her family didn’t want her back & we didn’t want her to go to a shelter, so fast forward that’s why she is still with us. Fiona was a caged dog so she feel comfort having her cage. She also loves cuddling & kids. She just needs someone that will give her the love and attention she needs.

Story
Female - 2 years - 62 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - ILHello! My name is Ellie and I am a 2-year-old, 62 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I should be crated when left home alone. I am friendly with new people after proper introductions and some time to warm up. I will actively seek affection from my people  and enjoy pets! I do well with visitors as long as I can meet them when they come in the house—we had a holiday party at home with lots of people over and I did well with everyone. Fast movements can make me anxious, so I would prefer any children in my home to be older. I love my dog friends although I can be selective about who I consider a friend. I love to wrestle with my foster sister and can play quite rough, so any other dogs in my home should have a similar play style. I  like my toys and am learning how to play fetch! I cannot go to a home with cats. I ride well in the car and enjoy tagging along for rides! My leash skills are a work in progress as I do pull quite a bit. I know sit very well and enjoy training so I would love a family willing to continue my obedience training!  I would love to find an adopter local to the Chicagoland area so I can meet you before coming home. I am an energetic, loving girl ready to find my perfect adoptive family—could that be yours? Follow me on Facebook:  #EchoDogEllie2022 For more information, please contact adoptions@echodogs.org.   Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required! Story
Male - 1 year - 50 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - VAHi! My name is Xander and I am a 1-year-old, 50 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I should be crated when left alone. I am nervous with new people and anyone I meet needs to follow my lead and respect my social cues. I have been working with my trainer to understand appropriate interactions with people and have done well with men, women, and older children with proper introductions. I am very affectionate with my trusted people and love to spend time with you! I would do best in a low traffic home with fewer visitors. I love other dogs though I can be rambunctious with my request for interactions so not all other dogs love me. I would love to have a playful, tolerant, confident canine companion to help show me the ropes and who can help you continue teaching me my canine manners. I love to wrestle with my foster siblings! I enjoy toys, especially Kongs, and would love a yard where I can play or explore safely. I cannot go to a home with cats. I have been working on my obedience training and have learned sit, come, place, and off. I have also learned heel and walk well on leash. I ride well in the car and have been going on field trips to places like Lowe’s to practice my training in public! I strive with structure and boundaries. My adopter must be willing to come meet me and my trainer in the Kearneysville WV / Northern Virginia area to make sure we are a good fit! I have been working hard and am ready to find my perfect handler, could that be you? Story
Female - 2 years - 67 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - PAHello! My name is Hera and I am a 2-year-old, 67 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained, though I am well-behaved when left home alone uncrated. I am a friendly girl with men, women, and young children. I love to be near my people and am often not far away either laying on a dog bed or sprawled on the floor. I love belly rubs and snuggles! I am fostering with a toddler and am gentle with him. I do well with visitors to my foster home as well. I have done well with other medium to large dogs after slow, proper introductions. I prefer males over females and will engage in play with my foster brothers in the yard! I like having toys accessible to carry around. I don’t really play tug or fetch, I just like to trot around with a soft plushy toy in my mouth! I have done well with the dog-savvy cats at my foster home after slow introductions. I do well for walks and walk well on leash! I have been learning how to jump in the car on my own, though you should be prepared to lift me in while I am still learning. Once I’m in, I ride well! I can be insecure when I am away from home and can struggle with training in new environments so I have been working a lot on engagement and confidence building. I know sit, down, and a good foundational recall. I do best with a confident handler who can offer me guidance in situations where I become unsure. I HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS: I require a Hill’s Biome prescription diet to maintain solid stools which costs approximately $150-$180 per month. I am an affectionate, lovely girl who would love to find my perfect adoptive family—could that be with you? Story
Male - 4 years - 40 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - NYHello! My name is Ricardo and I am a 4-year-old, 40 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained, though I do not need to be crated when left home alone. I will usually take a nap on the couch or play with my toys while you’re gone. Before coming to Echo Dogs, I was running with a feral colony and have therefore had a slow-going integration to the human world. I am extremely shy with people and will need a patient adopter willing to give me the time I need to warm up. I will accept affection from my foster mom though I don’t yet seek it. I would do best in a low traffic home with few visitors. Due to my anxieties, I cannot go to a home with children as they spook me. I absolutely thrive with other dogs and will require at least one confident canine companion in my home to help show me the ropes. I am gentle and playful with my canine friends and have even gently wrestled with little dogs. I have discovered the joy of toys and love to play with them! I don’t discriminate my favorites as I love stuffies, squeakies, antlers, benebones, or even simple food puzzles! I am amazing with cats and my feline foster sibling loves to rub against me or lay with me. Learning how to walk on a leash is a new concept to me, so I will require a securely fenced yard at my home. I am improving and join my foster mom to get the mail every day for practice! I have also been learning about car rides and, while I need help getting in, I will ride well. My recall has been coming along nicely at home. I am not yet ready to start working on other commands. I currently take daily Clomicalm medication to help me manage my anxieties and will need to continue for the foreseeable future. I am a sweet boy who is looking for a special, patient human willing to continue teaching me about the human world—could you be my family?
