We adopted Oliver approximately 3 to 4 years ago from an animal shelter. He’s an amazing dog. He has been trained professionally, is very well with children and people of all kind… although he still thinks he’s a big baby. We are at a point in our lives where we have a small child, and not enough time to give him love he deserves. We want to find the perfect new owners and not just anybody so we are willing to wait as long as it would take.

Story

Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

Dominic started the summer couch surfing or patio lounging - no microchip, no collar and not recognized by local families. He is guessed to be 4 years old and loves everyone! He gets along with other dogs, other big males and small dogs too. He is crate trained, now neutered, heartworm treated and on prevention. Dominic is black and tan, docked tail and floppy natural Doberman ears. He last weighted in at 68 lbs and enjoys running the yard at this foster home. He is around children and has never met a stranger, quiet and not a good guard or alert dog - Dominic is here for the PARTY, like a college kid, not currently seeking a job just hoping to get along by his good looks and muscles. ...He will chase a cat, obsess over the cat's whereabouts so a home without one might be best. Story

Medusa would love to be the QUEEN BEE and be appreciated for the alpha she is. She is an American Bully which is a new designer breed (mislabeled English Bulldog, Pittie, Pocketpittie, MicroBully). She is guessed to be 4 years old and around 45 lbs. Short and stocky, she is a healthy and easy dog to care for unlike the other bully breeds. Medusa can be bossy and demanding of attention, jealous when humans talk to the other dogs in her foster home. She is fostered with small and big dogs, but requires correction and supervision to avoid a 'girl fight' She would do best as an only dog to keep the peace and let her enjoy a family. Medusa was pulled from a shelter last year, placed briefly in a home with another bulldog who did not want to share space with her. The setback caused jealousy behaviors which we are working on. Medusa sleeps in a crate when her foster family is not home, at night, she shares a pillow and snuggles in the human bed. Sammy is a man of few words - we don't know where he came from or how old he really is... He has scars on his face and body, refuses to answer questions about the past. We just know, he's a cool dude. He enjoys sunsets and watching horses run in the neighbors yard. He enjoys being out with other chill dogs and roaming between meals. He has gained weight since being at this foster home (where he found safety) - 70 lbs at his neuter up to 98 at his last vet visit. Sammy was heartworm positive, treated and on prevention. He would enjoy a home with experience in rescues or shelter dogs, help him settle - learn routine, then relax. He has not shown strong interests in things or favorites - but likely that will change when he is given attention and in a home. His caregiver was upset! They took Sammy in after his owners died and had kept him safe in their barn. He had dog friends, he played with Maggie and observes the farm and other animals without being a problem. We agreed to take on his care, finish his medical needs and work on adoption. Even the older, shy, timid or less expressive dogs can be amazing family pets. Thank you for reading his bio and considering this dude. Donatello's favorite color is Purple, favorite food is Pizza and the Gentlest Dog. Donatello was a shelter favorite in Lufkin (Eastern Texas) and thanks to many volunteers found his way to us in Rescue. He was neutered, vaccinated and required Heartworm treatment before getting ready for Adoption. Donatello is fostered with dogs of all sizes and personalities, he is a passive dog and avoids all conflicts. He could be an only dog or in a pack. He is crate trained but shows his breed - by spinning and circling his crate before laying down. He is not destructive, Quiet and Observant. Guessed to be 2-3 years old. He is 68 lbs and lean, long tail with a short double coat. Labeled a Doberman at the shelter, we see more Vizsla or hunting breed in him. He is a mixed breed dog in a deep red color.
