Story
Adopt Peppy! Peppy is a ~60-lb sweetheart with the perfect blend of calm companion and playful goofball. She’s fully potty trained, does great in a crate, and has earned free-roam privileges in her foster home—she truly wants to be a good girl. Her estimated birthday is 10/21/2024. While Peppy can be a little shy when first meeting new people, once she feels safe, her affectionate personality shines. She bonds deeply with her people and loves staying close—whether that means following her foster mom from room to room or curling up at night for some serious big-spoon cuddles. Peppy is wonderfully social with animals and would thrive in a home with furry friends. She adores cats (yes, really!)—she grooms them, cuddles them, and even plays gently. She also loves other dogs and has the sweetest play style, complete with heart-melting play bows. A confident canine buddy could help her continue building confidence, though it’s not required. At home, Peppy is relaxed and easygoing, with occasional bursts of puppy-like energy that include joyful jumps, rolls, and toy-toting parades to the bed. She’s not particularly food-motivated, but she’s eager to please and responds beautifully to gentle guidance. She’s also incredibly tolerant and trusting—nail trims, ear cleanings, handling, and car rides are all no problem for this gentle girl. New sights and sounds can make Peppy a little nervous at first (like loud noises or unfamiliar people on walks), but she looks to her human for reassurance and settles quickly with calm support. She’s alert and will let you know if something unfamiliar is happening, then happily relaxes once she knows all is well. Overall, Peppy is a loving, loyal, low-key companion who just wants to feel safe, loved, and included. If she had a job, it would absolutely be professional Netflix reviewer and full-time cuddle buddy. Peppy is ready to bring her gentle heart and quiet joy into a forever home—could that be yours? Thank you!)

Story
Meet Hershey: Smart, Sweet, and Powered by Chew Toys Hershey is a medium-sized black-and-white mixed breed with an athletic build, adorable ears that like to stand at attention, and a face that makes people instantly fall in love. He’s not as thick-bodied as his sister Becky, but don’t worry — he still fully appreciates a good treat. Hershey loves people. Truly loves them. He’s friendly with dogs and cats and adapts to new situations like a total pro. New places, new routines, new friends — Hershey takes it all in stride with a wagging tail and curious mind. This boy is smart. Like, “learns things way faster than you expect” smart. He’s very obedient, eager to please, and highly treat-motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience. Hershey also loves toys, especially the kind he can chew on — and fair warning, he is extremely talented at destroying them. Durable toys are a must. Hershey is looking for a home that will appreciate his intelligence, keep his brain busy, and supply him with plenty of tough toys, treats, and love. If you want a loyal, clever companion who’s equal parts cuddle-worthy and entertaining, Hershey is ready to meet you. Story
Due to breed restrictions at my apartment complex, I am sadly looking to rehome my dog, Kahlua. She was brought home to me through a trusted co-worker of my father who operates his own business. She is a one-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier with a wonderful personality, full of playful energy but just as happy to relax and enjoy being pet all day. Kahlua is loving, affectionate, and thrives on attention and companionship. I am looking for an experienced owner who understands the breed, is comfortable with training, and has the time and dedication to give her the care, structure, and love she deserves.

Story
Mike is looking for a home with an active owner. He would do great with a home with bigger kids, as he loves to run and play. He would be best in a home without cats as he chases them around. He is a sweet boy with a ton of love to give! Mike is very playful and does great with other dogs both big and small!

Story
Meet Sasha (Yes, that Sasha) Sasha is a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix who has officially decided that her past does not define her future — and she’s ready to start the best chapter yet. Her origin story is… unfortunate (a previous owner didn’t want a female dog and fed her only sweet potatoes), which left Sasha malnourished and dealing with skin issues. But thanks to proper vet care, real food, and the endless love of her foster mama, Sasha has had a full glow-up. New body, new confidence, same sweet soul. Now, Sasha is thriving. She’s healthy, happy, and a total sweetheart who gets along beautifully with kids, cats, and other dogs. She’s the kind of dog who just wants to be loved — and will return that love tenfold. Gentle, affectionate, and quietly grateful, Sasha is proof that second chances can change everything. Sasha is looking for a forever home that will cherish her, spoil her responsibly (no potato-only diets allowed), and remind her every day that she’s safe and wanted. If you’re ready for a loyal companion with a heart of gold and a comeback story worth cheering for, Sasha is waiting. Apply to adopt today: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what PetFinder, AdoptAPet and other aggregation software systems state - the first step is to submit an application via the link above, NOT send a message through their platforms.
