Story
Meet Zizzy, a fun, energetic, and lovable deaf pit mix who’s ready to find his forever home! We suspect that Zizzy will be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. His estimated birthday is 8.14.24. Despite his hearing challenges, that doesn't stop him from living life to the fullest. He communicates through body language and is learning several ASL commands to help him connect with his humans. He’s incredibly loving and responsive, especially once he’s comfortable with you. He’s looking for a family who can embrace his unique needs and give him the attention and guidance he thrives on. Zizzy is doing well with potty training. He knows his potty command and will quickly head outside when asked. He’s been consistent and reliable with his potty breaks, but like all pups, he’ll need a little consistency to keep up his progress. Zizzy is full of energy. When he's not zooming around the yard or playing with his favorite toys, he’s content to nap and relax. He’s definitely a high-energy boy who would thrive in a home with space to run and play, and someone who can keep up with his playful nature. He loves playing tug-of-war, chasing balls and will do anything for a treat - his love for food knows no bounds! Zizzy enjoys interacting with other dogs and has a playful, rough-and-tumble style of play. He does best with dogs that are understanding of his high-energy antics. Since he’s still learning how to be gentle with his nipping and rough play, a home without small children or cats is ideal. Zizzy deserves to find an amazing family! Will that be you? Apply to adopt Zizzy here: sayvanimals.org/adopt Zizzy is also looking for a new foster home - apply to foster this angel here: sayvanimals.org/foster. Story
Monty is ready to find his forever home! This handsome boy is much smaller than he looks, weighing in around 30lbs. We do not know what type of doggie he is but he seems to be some sort of golden mix (no guarantees). Monty has a heart full of love waiting to be shared with an understanding family. He loves nothing more than being by your side, whether it's hanging in the backyard or lounging together on lazy afternoons. Monty is a loving and playful companion who thrives on affection and belly rubs. One of his hugs will warm your heart right up! He is the perfect snuggle partner to unwind with at the end of the day. Despite his past, he has shown incredible affection for people who show him kindness. Monty has got along with just about every dog that he has met (if another dog growls at him first he tends to hold a grudge). He can also be a little bratty at the vet, but hey, it can be scary for doggies! We'd recommend no cats or small animals - unfortunately he "played a little too rough" with a bunny in the yard once. We also think that he would be best in a family without small children - Monty needs his space and he needs to be left alone until he can trust. Monty is heartworm positive and his adopters will have to working with us while he is undergoing treatment. Heartworm disease is NOT contagious to you or your other pets, and despite what you may read online it is not extremely challenging to manage. Monty just won't be able to go running with you until he is heartworm negative. Vet appointments will be in Lisle, IL. He is a total sweetheart and would be a great addition to your family. Please consider applying to adopt this gorgeous boy today! sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: despite what Petfinder, AdoptaPet and other aggregation services say, the FIRST STEP is to submit an application on our website, not message us through their online portals. Thank you!)

Story
Dama is an adorable paraplegic husky pup who is ready to find her forever home! Dama was our very first paraplegic SAYv. This gorgeous girl was rescued by an amazing family from Mexico. They saw this cute baby husky in a wooded area and couldn't leave her there to fend for herself. They got her vaccinated and ready to come to the U.S. Once here, the family searched around for a rescue to take her in... time was running out. When we saw her being shared, we were immediately drawn to Dama's story. Thankfully we had an amazing foster that agreed to step up to the challenge which allowed us to say YES. Dama has been getting the royal treatment in her current foster home. She loves her swim lessons and therapy sessions - they keep her limber and mobile. Dama came rolling into rescue like she was on fire. She is a gorgeous husky puppy girl who loves all people and animals. She is always down for a good play time and loves to tell you about her day. Dama would do best in a house with another playful dog. Even though she is in go mode a lot, she does love a good bone and chill time. Don't let her cart worry you, because she doesn't let it hold her back. She just needs her bladder expressed a few times a day to make sure it's empty. Then she's good to go! We know that having a paraplegic dog isn't the easiest thing in the world, but we promise, we will explain EVERYTHING and give you the support you need to allow this girl to fit into your family perfectly <3 Ready to adopt Dama?! Apply here: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what Petfinder, AdoptApet and other aggregation services might state, the FIRST STEP is to fill out an adoption application via the link above, NOT send us a message through their online systems. Thank you!)
