Story
George is a really sweet and loving dog. He is playful, curious, courageous and loyal. We have loved him since he was a pup, having adopted him from a reputable in-home breeder when he was 8 weeks old. He will turn 3 in October 2024. We got him as a companion for our 7 y.o. Maltese and they are thick as thieves and play constantly. He is very healthy and active. He has gone through a 2-month on-site training program with Woof Beach and he knows basic commands such as “sit, stay, down, heel and come.” Unfortunately George has some behavioral issues that require more energy than we have. While he is very sweet in the home, he can be aggressive and territorial outside of it. We have a newborn at home and must make this heartbreaking decision to offer him to another loving home of dedicated owners.

Story
Hi my name is Bingo! I’m a happy, healthy and playful little pup. I was born on 2/13/24. My mom came to New Start Dog Rescue when me and my siblings were still in her tummy. So we were born in a foster home and have been well taken care of since birth. I currently weigh 15 lbs. Not sure who my dad was but my mom is 35 lbs. and is a Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix. I’ll probably get to be more than that cause I’m a chunky baby right now! The rescue sent out a DNA test on me and my siblings, turns out we’re part Australian Cattle Dog, American Pit Bull Terrier, American English Coonhound, Miniature Pinscher, and Supermutt! Talk about a great mix! Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Puppies are being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet them will be set up for approved adopters only. The adoption fee is $300 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. The puppies are neutered/spayed and microchipped. Please visit our website and fill out an application if you are interested at http://newstartdogrescue.org

Story
Hey there, I’m Ryder, the five-month-old 35lb bundle of joy on four paws! Life is a grand adventure, and I’m here to soak up every moment with my tail wagging and my heart full of love. I’ve got energy for days, and I’m not afraid to show it! Running, jumping, and exploring are my specialties. Whether it’s playing with kids, adults, or my fellow furry friends, I’m always up for a good time. And when it’s time to wind down, you can bet I’ll be right there, ready for some cuddles and snuggles. My humans say I’m a pro at crate training, and I'm working on mastering the art of potty training. But I’m determined to get it right, with a little patience and a lot of treats. I use my voice to let my foster home know I need to potty! Speaking of my voice, I am part Beagle and like to express myself vocally. Life with me is never dull, that’s for sure! So, if you’re looking for a playful companion who’s always ready for adventure, look no further. I’m your guy, ready to bring a whole lot of love and laughter into your world. Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Ryder is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $350 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. He is neutered, microchipped and Heartworm negative. He has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Please visit our website and fill out an application if you are interested. http://newstartdogrescue.org

Story
Hi I’m Bluey, a two-year-old Australian Cattle dog with a medium coat and a heart as big as the Outback! I’ve been through a lot, but I’m ready to find my forever home with someone who understands me inside and out. First things first, let’s talk introductions. I’m a bit shy around new dogs, so I’ll need a slow and gentle approach when meeting my furry pals. But once I get to know them, I’m sure we’ll be the best of mates! I do NOT do well with small animals, they say I have a high prey drive. I can not live in a home with small animals like cats, bunnies, birds and rodents. Now, let’s talk about my strength. Despite my petite 35-pound frame, I’m as strong as an ox! So, when we’re out and about, it’s important to keep an eye on me, especially in unfamiliar places like the pet store or the vet’s office. Speaking of being out and about, I’m a total social butterfly when it comes to people. I’ve spent time with both adults and kids, but I’ll admit, I can get a bit too excited and jump up on the little ones. So, it’s best if I’m around older kids who can handle my exuberance. One thing I absolutely adore is gazing out the window. There’s something about watching the world go by that fills my heart with joy. And when you call my name, you can bet I’ll come running – I’m a good listener like that. Now, let’s talk about my home setup. I’m totally house-trained and crate trained, so you won’t have to worry about any accidents while you’re away. And when it’s time for bed, you can find me snoozing away on the couch – it’s my favorite spot in the house! A home with a fenced yard would be best for me; I'm a fun loving girl but safety is a priority! As for toys, I’m a big fan of anything I can sink my teeth into. But those soft toys? Let’s just say they don’t last long around me! I much prefer antlers and Nylabones, especially when they’re filled with delicious peanut butter. In short, I’m a loving, loyal companion who’s ready to bring endless joy and laughter into your life. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a furry friend to share adventures with, I’m your girl! Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Bluey is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet her will be set up for approved adopters only. Her adoption fee is $300 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped and Heartworm negative. She has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
