Meet our pretty girl Princess Luna❤️ this girl is so special and had a horrible beginning to her life and spent much time on her own and not wanted. Luna joined our rescue about 1.5 weeks ago, she is Pit Terrier Mix about 3 years old. She has the most soulful eyes and the sweetest disposition. In the shirt time we have had her she has done well with other dogs as well she is living with a foster pup sibling Mac. She also doesn't react to cats, and does great with kids. Luna is housebroken. Crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. She is such a smart girl and just loves life ❤️ She will have the rest of her vetting completed this week. Story

Meet our sweet boy Jake, he is about 4 months old lab/pit mix. He joined our rescue about 1.5 weeks ago with his sibling Scout. Jake is settling in nicely and is getting along with all dogs he has met, he currently is being fostered with 2 adult male labs Leo and Cash ❤️. He loves to play and has your typical puppy energy. He is more submissive and will take correction from the other dogs. We are working on his basic puppy manners and is doing well with sit and is mostly housebroken. He goes in the crate using a treat and sleeps all night. He will cry at first but settles. He does eat fast, so he does have a slow feeder and his foster dad is working on that with him, as he gets food regularly we shoild see change. If you are looking for a fun pup, one that will make you laugh, look no further. He likes to grab things and run, he makes sure to let you see him, lol. He does great with giving things back when asked. We are working on leash training, as he does like to pull with excitement, he gets daily walks and will improve. He is such a smart pup. Jake will need continued puppy training with his new family. He has most of his vetting completed and will go back into the vet the week of October 6th. He had some hair loss by his ear and nose, we had a skin scrape completed and has non contagious mange, he has had 2 doses of meds and has 1 more and then recheck. Meet Sprite! This little guy is just a little love. He is guessed to be about 8 years old and weighs 10 lb. He is overweight and we have him on a diet. He does have bilateral grade 4 luxating patellas, but the vet determined surgery was not necessary at this time as he is currently getting around well and using both legs. Maintaining him at a healthy weight will be critical in keeping his knees in the best shape as possible. He also has some lameness on his front right leg, due to undetermined reasons. He is currently not able to do stairs or jump, so he will need to be carried. We are hoping once he gets to his ideal weight he will be able to work on this, but for now, adopters should be prepared to carry him. His liver values were elevated on his bloodwork, so he is currently on some liver supplements and we will recheck his bloodwork about 6-8 weeks after starting the supplement. He is a really sweet boy who loves tummy rubs and enjoys attention. He gets along with other dogs his size and cats. We think he would love a home where he can get a lot of attention, but one that isn’t too active or busy. Sprite's adoption donation of $395 helps cover the cost of his medical care. Adopters must live within a 1 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Reference checks, vet checks, and home visits required. We do not do same-day adoptions. Anne Bonny (AB) is guessed to be about 5 years old and weighs around 8 lbs. She came to us from Texas where she had been found with a large number of dogs in an abandoned house. We believe she did not have much human contact in her formative years and therefore has an extreme fear of handling. She is a very special girl who will need a very special home. AB is very shut down and scared. She will hide and tries to avoid contact- it is heartbreaking. She doesn't seem to have a mean or aggressive bone in her body, but due to her level of fear we recommend a very slow approach and taking time with her to prevent her from feeling in a position where she is in flight or fight and cannot flee. She has no reaction to the cats or dogs in the foster home, so we think she could co-exist fine with either. AB has been started on fluoxetine to try and help with her fear. We think she would do best in a quiet home without much activity or new people. She needs a patient person who will accept her as she is, but be willing to work with her to help her gain confidence and comfort with human contact. ABs adoption donation of $250 helps cover the cost of her vet care (spay, microchip, bloodwork). Adopters must live within a 1 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL.
