Story
Meet Sandy – Your Future Shadow and Snuggle Buddy! Sandy is a beautiful retriever mix, possibly with hints of Shar Pei or Black Mouth Cur, and she’s on the lookout for her forever family. She arrived at the shelter with three other dogs after her previous owner became incarcerated, but that hasn’t stopped her from learning to love and trust again. A little shy at first, Sandy quickly warms up and becomes an affectionate, loyal companion. She’s the #1 fan of belly rubs and a total sucker for snuggles! With consistency, patience, and kindness, she has blossomed into a playful pup with a silly streak that will steal your heart. Smart and eager to please, Sandy already knows basic commands like “sit,” “leave it,” “touch,” and “come.” She is both crate trained and housebroken, making her a wonderful housemate. She enjoys romping around with other dogs and even hops on the treadmill to burn off her zoomies—yes, really! Sandy is looking for a home that will continue to help her build confidence and show her that the world is a safe and loving place. In return, she’ll be your faithful shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your biggest fan. If you're ready to meet a gentle, goofy girl with a heart full of love, Sandy is ready to meet you!

Story
Meet Kokomo Joe! Looking for a big, lovable goofball to brighten your days? Look no further—Kokomo Joe is here! This 80-85+ lb mixed breed boy may have had a rough start in Texas, but he's ready to leave his past behind and find a forever home filled with love and belly rubs. Kokomo Joe's story is heartbreaking—he was abandoned and starved when his previous owner was incarcerated, leaving him to fend for himself while his housemates were fed. When he first arrived, he was painfully thin, with every rib and his hip bones showing. He also had some food aggression, but who could blame him after all he'd been through? Thankfully, with regular meals and love, he now understands he’ll never go hungry again. He’s no longer protective of his food and hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression since. Despite his past, Kokomo Joe’s spirit shines bright! He’s a true fun-loving goober who doesn’t realize his own size. Whether he’s hopping around like Tigger or cuddling up as if he’s a tiny lap dog, this big guy will keep you smiling. His crate and house manners are spot-on—zero accidents here! He’s even learned to move his crate across the floor, proving he’s as strong as he is sweet. Kokomo Joe gets along with other dogs with proper introductions and would thrive in a home that can continue his training and give him the structure he needs. His ideal family will embrace his goofy, big-hearted nature and help him become the best boy he can be. If you’re ready to welcome this big, bouncy cuddle bug into your life, Kokomo Joe is ready to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. Story
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a 1.5-year-old pit bull/staffie mix who’s as tough as he is tender. Rescued as a malnourished stray with an old injury to his right rear leg, this resilient little guy has made a full recovery after surgery and therapy. Now he’s healthy, healed, and ready to win your heart. Despite what his pictures might suggest, Buddy is smaller than he looks—he weighs in at just 30 to 35 pounds, making him the perfect size for cuddles and adventures alike. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps soundly in his crate at night or when his foster family is away. Buddy is an excellent travel companion who handles long car rides like a pro, and he's even a great camping buddy. He walks nicely on a leash and has no food aggression—he’ll happily share his bowl. He’s cooperative for baths and nail trims and already knows “sit.” He’s working on “stay,” “down,” and other basics, and he understands that he needs to sit quietly before getting leashed or going through doors. Buddy is a social dog who loves being around his foster siblings. While he can be a bit of a pesky little brother at times, he thrives as part of a pack. He rarely barks, but if separated from his dog friends, he might give a short whine. As a young dog, he still has puppy energy and needs daily opportunities to run and burn off his zoomies. Once he’s gotten that energy out, he’s a very chill, relaxed companion. His injured leg isn’t as strong as the others, but it doesn’t slow him down—he’s fast, agile, and always ready to play. Buddy is great with older kids and may just need a little supervision around small children as he continues to work on his manners, especially since he can be a bit rowdy and mouthy when excited. He’s treat-motivated, eager to learn, and lives for quiet snuggles. He isn’t demanding about attention but will gently lay his head on your lap and gaze up at you with his stunning amber eyes. This sweet, affectionate boy is good in public, enjoys meeting people, and loves chew bones and ice cubes. We can’t say enough good things about Buddy. He’s the total package—loving, resilient, easygoing, and full of potential. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will be by your side for every road trip, lazy day, and evening snuggle, Buddy just might be your perfect match. Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping. In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process. Story
Hi, my name is Waffle! If you're looking for a lovable, goofy pup with soft fur and a heart full of love, I might just be your perfect match! I’m about 2 to 3 years old, weigh around 55 pounds, and am likely a Black Mouth Cur possibly mixed with Shar Pei—and about 55 other breeds! I'm your classic Heinz 57. I’m neutered, housebroken, and sleep soundly in my crate at night. I also crate well when left alone during the day. While I’m not currently living with children, based on my gentle demeanor, my foster family believes I’d do great in a home with respectful kids. I get along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes and would thrive with a confident canine buddy by my side. I’m not shy at all—I'm happy to greet new people and dogs with a wag and a smile. I’ve just started discovering the joy of toys and playtime, and I’m having a blast learning how to be a carefree dog. I’m also not bothered by loud noises or sudden sounds—I'm a pretty steady guy. However, I do have a high prey drive, so watch out squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and especially cats—here I come! Because of that, I’d do best in a home without small animals or feline friends. I’m learning to walk nicely on a leash and improving every day. With a little guidance, love, and a consistent routine, I’ll make the perfect, loyal addition to your family. Could I be the Waffle to your morning? I can't wait to meet you! Story
Are you looking for a perfect Gem? Meet Bijou a true diamond!! Just look at her sweet markings! She’s a 1 year old hound mix about 50lbs who arrived from a kill shelter in Texas, she was the last of 40 to hitch a ride north! Described by her foster as Goofy, Clutsy, Extremely Cuddly, Stubborn at times but who isn’t?, Curious, Loveable, Playful, quite the "Drama Queen" and Adorable! Bijou’s favorite place: Being the center of attention. Best Friends? Yes, please! Bijou does well with other dogs and enjoys their company! Playtime can get rowdy at times because she'll be full of young dog energy and has 3 furry friends to play with. Bijou is smart and responds to “break” when things get too silly and she will listen and come lay down with her friends. If her playmate over powers her, she gets quite dramatic with her Hound like yowels (the Drama Queen in her). Bijou lives with Cats and does fine most of the time but sometimes wants to play with them more than they want to. Bijou likes kids and people but still is prone to being silly and might accidentally bump into little ones. Perfect match? Bijou loves being praised for being a good girl and loves the attention of her foster mom! Her foster is busy with work and 4 dogs and cats and so Bijou would thrive with more attention and a family to spoil this gem! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . Story
Rocky is well behaved 3 year old boy. He loves to cuddle and listens very well. I got him when my ex-husband went into a nursing home. It was supposed to be on a temporary bases but has now turned into several months. I feel bad because I cannot give him the love and attention he needs. Rocky is very sweet and friendly. The only problem is he gets a little anxiety on the 4th of July. If you meet him, you won't want to be separated from him.
