Story
Zuko was dumped on the street and found by Carver Canines in Carver county. We do not know exactly how old Zuko is, but we think he is around 1 year old. I got him neutered and he is up to date on all of his shots. He is a big goofy boy and a cuddle bug. The reason why I cannot keep him is because he has gotten aggressive towards other people, and does not do good in an apartment setting. I also have a very busy schedule and he needs someone who is able to give him more time than I am. Zuko needs a big yard where he doesn't have a whole lot of human interaction, and can be able to run free. He would make a good working dog, or farm dog. Zuko does great with other dogs and is very food motivated. He is also the biggest lover ever. He will cuddle with you all night once he is comfortable with you. He loves attention and will lay on your chest all night!

Story
Sleet is a happy, outgoing Lab, Husky and Beagle mix born in rescue on March 14. From day one, he has been cherished and loved. He is a funny guy! One of his favorite moves is a play bow, then his rips off running across the yard. He's cuddly, loving and very sweet. In his foster home, Sleet has been exposed to cats, kids, and other dogs. He’s been on adventures in the car and met lots of different people. He crates nicely, and with a later evening potty break, he sleeps through the night in the crate! He has a head start on potty training and loves to come running full tilt when called. He is ready to find a home that wants to incorporate him into everything they do. Sleet currently weighs about 14# and will be the perfect size for accompanying his people everywhere. He wants to take obedience classes to learn nice manners. He needs to learn all things puppy: walking nicely on leash, seeing new sights and sounds, and experiencing the world. Ongoing socialization will ensure he can lead the life he was meant to. The best fit for Sleet is an active family who sees a dog as a 4-legged family member. They are patient and love to laugh, because with Sleet around, they definitely will! They can provide potty breaks every 2-3 hours at his young age. He could live with a canine sibling or as an only pup with an engaged family. He would love a fenced yard for safe play and exploration and is also suited for a home with a history of keeping dogs safe on leash. Children old enough to understand how to redirect his puppy teeth are a good fit. Sleet can’t wait to meet his forever family and dive right into his new, exciting life! APPLY to adopt him at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Sleet is being fostered in Minnetrista, MN. Sleet's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax (this includes his neuter). He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Hi there! My name is Elsa, and if sweet, cuddly, and gentle are your favorite qualities in a dog, we might be a perfect match. I'm a smart little lab, husky and beagle mix born in mid-March 2026. I have a medium energy level and a wonderful balance of curiosity, get up and go, and a love of chilling out. Hiking buddy? Sure! Road trip pal? You bet! Cozy evenings at home? Im in! As long as I get enough exercise and mental stimulation, I'm happy to fit into your lifestyle. My favorite things are stuffy toys, frozen treats, and following another dog around to see what theyre up to. While I'd enjoy having a canine sibling, I don't need one. I'm just as happy bonding closely with my humans, as long as I get to have some doggy friends and playdates. I've already had a lot of new experiences. I've visited parks full of children, attended an outdoor reception at a winery (fancy!), attended volleyball games, explored stores, and met lots of new people. Wherever I go, I take it all in stride. I'm comfortable being handled by different people and love being part of the action. My confidence is growing just like I am. Like any puppy, I'm still learning. My potty training is coming along nicely, and I can already hold it overnight in my crate for up to eight hours. I'm crate-trained, too... I may whine a little to start. On walks, I am a natural on leash - sure, I occasionally stop to sniff or nibble on my leash, but with a little training, I'll be an excellent walking companion. I cant wait to take my family to obedience classes and learn more! What I'm really looking for is a family that will cherish my gentle heart, continue my training, and help me grow into the amazing dog I'm meant to be. If you're looking for a loving, adaptable best friend, I can't wait to meet you. APPLY to adopt her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Elsa is being fostered in Rochester, MN. Elsa's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax (this includes her spay). She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She will be spayed and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in her adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. Story
Cayden is a sweet 5-year-old, 42# miracle pup. Doctors once said he wouldn’t live past 6 months, and now he’s preparing for a balloon angioplasty that will help him live a normal, happy life. Here’s what he has to say: Hi, I’m Cayden. I’m an Australian Shepherd with luxurious hair, soulful eyes, and a deep love for my people. When we meet, I’ll roll over and let you rub my belly. That’s how you know we are officially friends! I’m a chill guy who likes to see new places with my people and spend time together. My "off switch” means I’m perfectly happy being home and hanging and do not need to train for a marathon. Walking around the neighborhood is my idea of a good time - all those smells! I also enjoy activities like car rides, pontoon adventures, and quality cuddle sessions. I’m cuddly, calm, thoughtful, and just a tiny bit clutsy. Hardwood floors and I are currently in negotiations. (Sometimes my feet go one direction while the rest of me goes another!) I’m friendly with new people and dogs. I could live with another low-key pooch or be the only dog in my home. My foster family thinks cats would be ok for me. Honesty is important in any relationship. You should know that I get distracted by things like fast moving bikes, rollerblades, or very energetic dogs. I may need help managing my big feelings about all that movement. If you’re observant, patient, and understand herding breeds, we’ll do great together. My dream match? Quiet homebodies with kind hearts, no young kids, and lots of love to give. I don’t need a huge yard or nonstop entertainment. I just want my person. Maybe that’s you. So… what do you think? Want to do this "life" thing together? Cayden’s procedure is scheduled for June 16, paid by HOABCR. Recovery is 2 days. After recovery, he will lead a normal life with no restrictions. We would love him to find his forever home before surgery so he can get settled! Cayden is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN. His adoption fee is $250 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Story
First, his looks catch your eye. Then you learn about his personality and you’re hooked! Blaze is a 54#, 5-year-old Border Collie with a sunny personality and a zest for life that's as bright as a perfect summer day. He thinks every day should include a game of fetch or frisbee and plenty of time spent with his favorite people. Happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and adventurous, Blaze loves being part of the action, whether that's a morning walk, a trip to the park, or a backyard barbecue. His energy level is a wonderful balance: he's always ready for fun and activity, and he's equally happy to relax and enjoy downtime with his family afterward. Blaze would thrive with an active, herding breed-experienced family that appreciates both his intelligence and enthusiasm. He walks beautifully on leash without pulling and is well-socialized in the world. He's crate trained and keeps four on the floor. He knows a few basic obedience commands and wants to learn more. With his smarts, a little time and some good treats, and we bet he can learn anything! A fenced yard would be ideal for Blaze so he has room to stretch his legs and enjoy his favorite games. He can happily live as an only dog or with a canine companion. He is a herding dog, which includes nipping at ankles if given the opportunity. Families with older kids are the best fit – no littles, please. He likes to check cats out, but is not aggressive. He could live with dog-savvy felines. Blaze will be an even happier boy when he loses roughly 7-8 lbs. If you're looking for a loyal adventure buddy who will happily join you for all of life's summer fun, and then curl up nearby when the day is done, Blaze may be your perfect match! APPLY to adopt him at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Blaze is being fostered in Clear Lake, MN. His adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax.
