Story
Flare is the kind of puppy who makes you grin - bright‑eyed, curious, and convinced that life is one big adventure meant to be explored at full speed (with lots of cuddly naps too). Born in mid‑December 2025 and 18#, this Border Collie mix is the perfect blend of fun, resilience, smarts, and affection.
Flare has a contagious enthusiasm for life, going all in on whatever he’s doing: tugging with gusto, wrestling with dog friends, delivering enthusiastic kisses, running like the wind, and welcoming every new person he meets to his fan club. He’s human‑focused, neutral toward other dogs, and happiest when his brain and body have something to do. A family that runs, hikes, trains, or enjoys dog sports will find him irresistible. He’s visited pet stores, explored parks, tagged along to dog school, and eagerly greeting each new adventure. He’s curious, observant, and steady.
He has medium energy with the ability to relax once he’s had exercise or worked on obedience skills – he’s not a ‘stay in the house’ type of dog. Just like a kid can’t wait to start kindergarten, Flare is excited to take classes with his new family. He’s still a puppy learning things like housetraining, leash skills, nail trims, and encountering everyday things like vacuums. On leash, he’s impressive for his age. He rides nicely in the car when contained in a crate and can settle in one at home if he’s relaxed after a play or training session.
Flare would thrive with a fenced yard and a family experienced with herding breeds. He can live with respectful kids who understand how to be kind and consistent with a puppy. He kindly requests a canine buddy in his new home, preferably one who likes to wrestle. He hasn’t met cats yet.

Flare is being fostered in Rochester, MN.
Flare's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
