Story
Meet Spark, a mid‑December 2025 baby with long legs, a soft heart, and a whole lot of devotion packed into his 16 pounds. This Border Collie mix is the perfect blend of silly and snuggly. He trots around with puppy confidence, playing with toys and enjoying life. When it’s time for a break, he wants to be near his people, chilling out together. Spark’s favorite thing in life is people. Dogs are fun, toys are good, but his person is everything. He plays well with the other dogs in his foster home, but he consistently chooses human companionship over canine company. He’ll be happiest with a family that enjoys a dog-friendly active lifestyle and carries a calm, easygoing energy. Think walks, exploring new places, and then relaxing together afterward. Daily exercise will keep him happy. He’s curious about the world and has already experienced car rides, new environments, suburban sights and sounds, and meeting new dogs. He’s comfortable around cats, giving them a polite sniff before moving on. Best in a home with kids roughly 10 and over. Spark is working hard on house training and does best with a predictable schedule. He needs frequent breaks at this age. Crating isn’t his favorite, but he settles best when he can see or hear his person nearby. On leash, he’s still figuring things out, primarily by following the lead of older, more experienced dogs. Spark will do well with a canine sibling and can be an only dog. Families with herding‑breed experience is preferred to help guide his bright, sensitive mind. He’ll also need support learning to be comfortable on his own, because his instinct is to stay close and be with his people. Obedience classes are required to ensure he has a solid start to a long life of going with you everywhere: he will no doubt be your best friend. If you’re looking for a devoted, leggy little shadow who will adore you endlessly, Spark is ready to light up your life. See more videos of Spark at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5ZDuP3CNniSx5VVqPczSHFQSSxH59T8I Spark is being fostered in Brooklyn Park, MN. Spark's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Story
Meet Bridger, Georgie, Duke, Bennie, Violet, and Posie (adopted!): six irresistible puppies ready to bring energy, joy, and a whole lotta love into their forever homes! Born in early February 2026 and around 8#, this adorable crew of four boys and two girls are Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mixes, already showing the intelligence and spirit their breeds are known for. They are growing fast and learning more about the world every day. These pups are the perfect blend of curious, brave, and sweet. They bounce happily from one adventure to the next, whether it’s exploring the outdoors, chasing after a toy, or snuggling up with their favorite humans after playtime. They’re especially fascinated by toys that move or dispense treats - anything that challenges their clever minds! The Bridgerton pups are looking for active, engaged families who are excited to include a dog in all of life’s adventures. Hikes, road trips, backyard games are all on the table. Their energy level is exactly what you’d expect from puppies: enthusiastic play and deep naps. They will be active pups who require daily exercise to stay healthy. They will thrive with people who can provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation, and ideally, some experience with herding breeds. They’re still babies, so they’re working on all the basics: house training, crate training, and leash skills are all in progress. They’ll need committed families willing to take obedience classes and continue socialization to ensure they grow into well-rounded adult dogs. They are getting exposed to the big wide world and look forward to more positive interactions with people, places, and other pups. These pups would do best with older kids who understand puppy manners. While they’d likely enjoy a canine sibling, it’s not a requirement for every pup. They need frequent potty breaks; please make sure your application details your schedule. Bridger & Georgie are red & white males, Duke & Bennie are black & white males, and Violet & Posie are black and white females. If you’re ready for a smart, affectionate, adventure-loving companion, one of these six might just be your perfect match! The puppies are being fostered in the greater Minneapolis area and in Rochester, MN. APPLY to adopt at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Our puppy adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. Pups are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. They will be spayed or neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in the adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Nova is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important human in the world. At just 2 years old and 31# (with a couple to spare), this Australian Shepherd mix is a bright, affectionate companion who brings equal parts joy and curiosity to every day. Her foster family calls her Wiggle Butt and Busy Bee, and both nicknames fit! She greets her people with a full‑body shimmy. She loves gathering toys in a heap or surveying her yard like the world’s most dedicated neighborhood watcher. Enthusiastic, inquisitive, attentive, silly, and undeniably loving, Nova is happiest when she’s with her person. She adores belly rubs, grooming sessions, and any adventure that lets her sniff, explore, and observe. When she’s excited, she pops up on her back feet and “dances,” pawing the air like she’s conducting her own little parade. Nova’s ideal family is active, fair, and engaged… people who enjoy regular walks, appreciate a smart dog and share her joy for life. She has a medium energy level: ready for outings, but also content to chill inside once her needs are met. She’d do well with respectful, gentle kids, and she has previously lived with both children and cats. Nova could be an only dog or share her home with a friendly pup. She will thrive with humans who provide calm leadership, clear expectations, and steady routines. She listens beautifully when spoken to with confidence, and responds best to patient people who don’t rely on loud voices. She can be shy with men at first, but kindness and gentle words earn her trust. Nova is housebroken, crate‑trained, and who loves taking in every scent and sound, though she doesn’t exactly walk on leash in a straight line yet. She’s good in the car too. Continued leash work and basic obedience classes will help her shine even brighter. Given the opportunity, she will try to keep her person all to herself, but respects boundaries when they’re consistently reinforced. If you’re looking for a devoted, smart, affectionate companion who will make every day a little more fun, Nova is ready to wiggle her way into your life. She promises to make you laugh at least 3 times a day! APPLY to adopt her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt. Nova is being fostered in Minnetrista, MN. Her adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Hi there, I’m Flash! I’m a happy, cuddly, sweet, roughly 18# Border Collie mix puppy born in mid-December 2025. I'm READY to find my forever family. My foster family says I’m a really good boy who just wants to be someone’s best pal, and they sure got that right! My favorite things are simple: I love following my human around to see what they’re doing and playing fetch. If you toss a toy for me, I will happily bring it back and do it all over again. I like being part of whatever my people are doing, whether that’s going for a walk, hanging out in the yard, or just moving from room to room together. I have medium energy, which means I’m not a couch potato, but I’m not wild and crazy either. I would be happiest with an adventurous, active family that wants a buddy for walks, outings, and playtime. I stick close to my people and would be ok in a home without a fence, maybe working my way up to offleash privileges with solid recall training. I get along great with other dogs, even small ones, and I would really enjoy having a canine sibling to play with. That said, I could also be happy as an only dog if my family is committed to training and socializing me. I currently live with a four-year-old child, and I’m very good with her – but of course we need to be closely supervised when we’re together. I’ve also been around cats and am doing well. Continued guidance will help me happily coexist with kitties in my new home. I’m working on house training and need frequent breaks right now. I'm doing well in my crate and learning leash skills too. I’ve been to lots of different places and I take new things in stride. Obedience classes are a must – I’ve heard there are lots of treats there, and I’m anxious to show off how smart I am! I’m an amazing puppy who wants a family to love, adventures to go on, and someone to call my very own. Is that you? Flash is being fostered in Cambridge, MN. Story
Liddie is a bright, bouncy little spark of joy born in early January 2026. At just 11 pounds, she’s already packed with personality. This Border Collie and Australian Shepherd mix is everything you’d expect from her breeds: spunky, playful, curious, and incredibly smart. Throw in an extra dose of sweetness and cuddles for good measure. Like any young puppy, Liddie lives life in joyful bursts: she’ll zoom around the yard, wrestle and play tug with her foster canine sister, and then happily crash for a well-earned nap. She absolutely loves being outside, whether she’s running free, exploring, or simply sitting on the deck watching the world go by. She’s a big fan of people, especially kids! Liddie wants to be part of the action and will enthusiastically join in the fun, even attempting to climb playground equipment to be closer to the excitement. Liddie would thrive in a home that embraces her playful energy and includes her in daily life. She’s great with older kids (roughly 10+) that understand puppies have sharp teeth and will provide her with gentle redirection. She’s still learning what’s appropriate to chew: toys are a YES… hands and noses are off limits. She wants a patient, consistent family to guide her through puppyhood into a fun adult life. Obedience classes are required for this little smartie! Her amazing foster family has given Liddie a fantastic start to life. She is out and about, seeing the world. She is learning to walk on a leash, sleeps soundly in her crate and even puts herself to bed! Potty training is going great: she needs frequent breaks at her young age. She hasn’t met cats yet, but we believe she will be fine with a dog-savvy feline. Liddie doesn’t require a canine sibling but would happily play with one. Above all, she’s looking for a loving home ready to nurture her, laugh with her, and help her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. Liddie is being fostered in St. Louis Park, MN. APPLY to adopt her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Our puppy adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. Pups are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.
