Story
Appa is a 2-year-old Johnson-type American Bulldog, born April 1, 2023. Appa is goofy, playful, energetic, and affectionate once he’s comfortable. He can be skittish in new environments and benefits from patience and consistency while adjusting. He has a strong prey drive and cannot live with small animals, cats, birds, or small dogs. He may do best with dogs his size or larger following proper introductions. He has done well around children. Appa requires an experienced adopter familiar with strong, working-type breeds. He is intelligent but stubborn and would benefit from structured training and clear boundaries. Appa has one documented bite incident in a high-stress situation and has not bitten again. Because of this, he needs an adult, experienced home that understands dog behavior and management. We are seeking a new home because our household can no longer meet his needs safely or appropriately. Our goal is to place Appa in an environment where he can succeed long-term.

Story
JJ, AKA;Jack; he is 8 years old Is a very smart dog, trained to sit , lay, follow commands, He is on schedule and aware of schedule - he understands human words Loves attention, loves to have companion, loves walks. He was bottle-fed as baby had lots of love and attention. I was his only owner, He is getting up there in age and showing signs of it. He will still fetch ball and has spurts of energy, but not all the time. JJ recently has been experiencing some behavioral issues out of the blue, he forgets who we are when startled, he doesn’t know who we are until he visually sees us He gets aggressive at times, then snaps out of it. JJ needs a companion and a home without children, he may be ok with other dogs , he has been with our 2 others just fine and visits with family dogs. Fenced in yard, if not supervised He would be perfect for a one on one companion and watch over the house while owner is not home.

Story
We adopted Austin 6 years ago. Three years ago we adopted another dog for comfort and companionship. Unfortunately they recently started showing aggression towards each other. This has created a very difficult family environment. She is a loving 6-year-old boxer/Terrier mix seeking a calm, stable home. Best as only pet. She bonds strongly with people and enjoys playing with toys and a good a good tug of war game. She is house trained and very affectionate. She thrives with exercise and walks.

Story
Bujeg is looking for a loving new home as our growing family can no longer give him the time and attention he truly deserves. This has been a difficult decision, and we want to find the perfect family for him. He does well with other dogs, though he may need a little time to warm up at first. He’s excited to play with children and can be very gentle. Bujeg doesn’t enjoy being alone and appreciates encouragement when it’s time to go outside. Above all, he is a devoted, affectionate companion who loves being close to his people. He would make a wonderful addition to a caring family ready to give him the love and companionship he thrives on.

Story
Bentley is fostered in Pleasonton, KS. Meet Bentley.  Bentley was surrendered to us when his owner had some medical issues and was unable to continue caring for him.  Bentley came in a little under-socialized and slightly overweight but he has come A LONG WAY! Bentley is 3 year old male Australian Shepherd mix who is working towards his ideal weight of approximately 50 lbs.   Bentley previously spent great deal of time in his crate.  For this reason, he did not receive proper socialization. Socialization is something his foster home has diligently been working on with him.  She has been desensitizing him to many things, including leash walking, grooming, other dogs and other people.  Bentley previously experienced some fears in some area, but he really has put in a lot of work and he is making wonderful progress in all areas. Bentley is in a foster home with several other dogs of ages and sizes, and does well with them.  We are unsure about cats.   Bentley is more of a low-key guy who is looking for an adopter who enjoys the same type of lifestyle. He prefers a home where there are less comings and goings.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard and a home that is both patient and has no children under age 12.  Bentley is a talker. The more you talk to him, the more he expresses his feelings.  Bentley is what we term a "work in progress", but he is the type of dog that will quickly become your best friend once trust is gained between you.  Are you looking for your new best friend? Bentley is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2407689##

Story
Steel is fostered in St Louis MO Steel is your next adventure dude!  He was a stray that showed up to a home and never left.  Given their children were allergic, he is now in foster care with us.  Steel is estimated to be 7-8 months of age and is approximatley 35 - 40 lbs.  He has a gorgeous blue merle coat with piercing blue eyes.  He is ready to trade his street past for a purpose.  Left behind in the freezing cold with snow on the ground, a kind woman and her daughter found him abd kept him safe and warm while they searched for an owner, with no luck.   Steel is a young, working-dog boy with puppy energy and a big heart. He is affectionate, intelligent and bonds deeply with his people. He wants to be involved and longs for a purpose and a family to show him what belonging feels like.  Given his stray background, Steel will need an adopter who is committed to some basic obedience, along with structure and direction. As with any young aussie, he desires a consistent routine, supervision, plus some patience during the transition into your adoptive home.  Steel is super smart and eager to please. Given his lack of an previous training, he is still learning potty training, basic manners and house manners.  Steel will require a physically fenced yard and some additional work on leash walking.  Steel is in a foster home with other dogs of all ages. He has done fabulous with them, even wanting to engage in play.  We are unsure about cats or small children.  While Steel didn't have the best start, he has proved himself very eager to please and would make a wonderful addition to the active home.  He might even be good at a dog sport: agility, herding work, scent work, hiking/running, farm or acreage life. Steel is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
