Story
Meet Beau — a handsome 1.5-year-old black Lab mix with a heart as big as his smile. This lovable guy weighs around 55–60 lbs and is the total package: friendly, affectionate, funny, and always ready to make you laugh. Beau loves playing with other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy, but he’d also be happy soaking up all the attention himself. He’s snuggly, sweet, and enjoys being close to his people after a day of fun. He’s great on car rides, crate trained, and house trained, making him an easy addition to the family. Beau is also very treat motivated, which means training should be a breeze with a little consistency and a pocket full of snacks. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who can make you laugh, join you on adventures, and then curl up for cuddles, Beau may be your perfect match. Story
Meet Penelope, a beautiful 1 to 1.5-year-old Lab/Staffordshire mix with the sweetest soul and the best snuggle skills around. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves to play but also knows how to help you unwind, Penelope may be your perfect match. There’s just something special about a Lab/Staffy mix—they’re like a warm weighted blanket with four legs. When Penelope curls up in your lap, you have no choice but to relax, breathe deep, and enjoy the moment. She has that calming, comforting presence that makes a house feel like home. Penelope also loves to have fun, enjoys car rides, and is crate trained, making her an easy companion for both adventures and cozy nights in. She’s also a big fan of pup cups and tasty treats like bananas, carrots, and apples. She truly deserves a wonderful forever home where she’ll be loved as much as she loves in return. Story
Our 10-month-old, 56 lb puppy is a loving, playful, and very energetic young dog who absolutely loves playing fetch and being active. He sleeps great in his kennel at night (kennel included with rehoming) and has so much potential with an active, experienced owner. As he has grown, we’ve realized his strength and energy level are more than our family can safely manage. He is very strong, can jump, and could easily pull someone off balance, so we feel he would do best in a home without small children or older adults. He would love a fenced in yard or acreage to run. This is a difficult decision, but we want to find him a home where his energy, strength, and playful personality can truly thrive.

Story
The number one thing I will tell you about this dog is he is extremely intelligent. He has integrated with the other dogs well. He definitely is self-assured with them and understands how to communicate with other dogs. There is no doubt in my mind that this dog is extremely loyal. Whoever gets to adopt him will have a dog that will love them to the end of the Earth. He also clearly thrives on getting instructions and having a job. So whoever adopts him will want to ensure that he is receiving training and direction on a consistent basis. We believe he is a purebred red healer. I would encourage you to read about the breed. They are fascinating dogs and make fabulous family members for the right homes. Colt would do very well in a home with a lot of room to run and active family that is also dog savvy. A family that appreciates a working breed dog would be essential. Being his breed, we would recommend he not be adopted into a home with small children. But the most important is a dog savvy family.Did I mention that he is stunningly, handsome? While that is the least important, it certainly is nice. He’s extremely photogenic and is a great size, weighing in at around 50 pounds. He walks well on leash and likes car rides._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Colt is $ 525.00WANT TO MEET ColtThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Colt and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes.
