Ah some fresh air! A little walk, a couple of zoomies in a play yard and I’m ready for belly rubs. Then let’s walk a little more, some sniffing here and there and of course I always stop to look at people when they talk to me. I love all the attention I can get. So now that you are seeing my online picture, imagine me with my big head of your lap, relaxing with you and just enjoying all these special moments of being together. I’m not too much into sharing my people with other pets but that’s just because I have so much love to give. I’d prefer a home with not too much commotion. I’m also pretty smart – get me to sit and stay, throw a treat and then ask me to find it. I always succeed….I have to say that I really like food. My tail is wagging in anticipation of meeting my new family.

Breakfast, dinner, treats, nice fluffy blankets, time spent outside sniffing around and having fun in a play yard, all checked. If it’s cold, then we hang out inside. Of course, there are plenty of toys too. I think the amazing Canine Care staff is getting a little suspicious and may discover that I’m part meerkat. Sophie is a 9 month old Corgi, Blue Heeler, Border Collie mix, born May 23rd 2025. She is a very sweet, playful, cuddly girl, she tries to play with our cats but unfortunately they want nothing to do with her, and are afraid of her. She plays well with my 5 year old daughter. She does not like my husband and will growl at him every time he enters the room. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate overnight, and goes in there fine when we're leaving the house for a while. She is mostly house trained but still has an accident occasionally. My elderly mother has been with her during the day, so she is used to being home with someone all the time. She loves to chew and play with toys, she gets the zoomies often. Sophie would thrive in a home with someone who has the time and patience to train her, she is good with kids, and would enjoy being around cats that would play with her, but she either needs to be the only dog, or be carefully introduced to other dogs.

My foster mom says I’m acclimating well. I get to go to work with my fosters and I’m well behaved there. I also sleep well a night in my crate. My fosters own an amazing grooming salon and have given me a pretty cool transformation. I’m too handsome for words. I am a sweet, loving and smart lil baby who just wants a loving family. Scared to death….All I had was my sister and people were probably either non-existent in my life prior to Save-A-Pet or even possibly not very nice. Everything was new. What’s a leash? What about toys? Why do they make funny noises? Why do people talk to us in “puppy” talk? The Canine Care staff was persistent and every day they made sure to help me get adjusted and show me what fun could be. I discovered plush toys, I even started “booping” a squeaky toy and then getting a treat. They took me in a little play yard and I got to run around, discovering a new feeling: happiness. I am discovering the world, one puppy step at the time. I also enjoy romping around with other doggies. Who knew life could be so different. I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.
