Nami is 3 years old with her birthday coming up on November 22nd. She loves playing fetch and is a very good listener. She does have a tendency to eat her toys ever since we moved while my fiance my pregnant. She needs an owner and family that will play with her anytime she gets. She loves outside and her favorite time is winter to eat all the snow. She is Kennel trained. I first got Nami in texas when me and my fiance got together. We moved from Texas to Nebraska then Illinois. We then found out my fiance was pregnant as time has came we both have been too busy with our daughter and careers to have Nami. I want her to have the freedoms she once had when we lived in Texas and Nebraska.

Story
Kenna and Cooper Bear are being fostered in St Peters MO (Bonded Pair) Kenna and Cooper Bear are a bonded pair and have been together since they were puppies. They are NOT littermates. We believe the best placement for them would be a home where they could be adopted together. They are great with other dogs, cats and kids!  The trifecta of a GOOD dog! :)  Please meet Kenna. She is a 6-year-old red merle female Australian Shepherd. She currently weighs about 74 lbs. She is a big girl who loves to go for walks and play fetch (but only with tennis balls), loves to be close to her person; a constant companion following you from room to room.  She will run between your knees and walk with you wherever you go.  Prior to rescue Kenna lived in a loving home with her companion dog Cooper.  They were surrendered to rescue due to the family not having enough time to properly care for two large dogs and a growing family. Kenna knows sit, stay, down, shake. She is always ready for a walk (will sit at door waiting for you to open) or a car ride, she rides like a dream. She loves to be petted and brushed.   She is being fostered with two other female dogs and does well with them.  She is also being fostered with her brother Cooper, a 6 year old black tri male. Kenna is house trained and crate trained.  She has done very well when left uncrated.  In her foster home, she does have access to a dog door and a fenced yard.  Kenna lived with a toddler and was a gentle giant with her. Kenna has done well with visitors in the house. Kenna is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is also receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. If you have what Kenna needs, please visit our website to find out information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Story
Bentley is fostered in Pleasonton, KS. Meet Bentley.  Bentley was surrendered to us when his owner had some medical issues and was unable to continue caring for him.  Bentley came in a little under-socialized and slightly overweight. Bentley is 3 year old male Australian Shepherd mix who is working towards his ideal weight of approximately 50 lbs.   Bentley needs a hero.  Bentley previously spent great deal of time in his crate.  For this reason, he did not receive proper socialization. Socialization is something his foster home has diligently been working on with him.  She has been de-sensitizing him to many things, including leash walking, grooming, other dogs and other people.  Bentley previously experienced some fears in some area, but he really has put in a lot of work and he is making wonderful progress in all areas.   Bentley is a low-key guy who is looking for an adopter who enjoys the same type of lifestyle. He prefers a home where there are less comings and goings.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard and a home that is both patient and has no children under age 12.  Bentley is a talker. The more you talk to him, the more he expresses his feelings.  Bentley is what we term a "work in progress", but he is the type of dog that will quickly become your best friend once trust is gained between you.  Are you looking for your new best friend? Bentley is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2407689##

Story
Ella (formerly called Bella) is fostered in Sioux City, IA Meet Miss Ella Girl – a handsome black and tan Aussie lady with a full fluffy tail!  Ella was dropped off in the shelter by someone who claimed to have found her – but turned out to be her owner who had abused her for four years. The timid girl was thin, sick and afraid of everything but was looking for love. When we brought her home, she jumped on the couch right away and tried to be a lap dog.  Ella is a 4 year old female Australian Shepherd with a gorgeous tail.  Despite her history, Ella loves people, other dogs, and cats.  Now at 50 pounds, Ella has put on some weight, gained confidence, and is now spayed. She loves to snuggle, get belly rubs, and play in the yard with other dogs. She is still timid about some things. she eyes the hairbrush with much distrust but has learned to enjoy some brushing. She does not like her paws touched too much, but doesn't fuss about nail trim and has learned (somewhat reluctantly) to shake a paw and receive a treat.   Ella goes to kennel willingly but does not like to have the kennel door closed. She is intelligent and learns fast, so further training will come easily.  Ella is housebroken and has never had an accident in the house. She loves to take walks and is great on the leash.  She is not destructive in the home, but may occasional consider counter surfing. She is a real cuddler and would like to sleep in the bed with people but is also OK sleeping in her own bed or on the couch. Like most Aussies, Ella eats everything and is especially fond of vegetables – cabbage, cucumbers, broccoli – all these are treats! Luckily, he has not figured out that these he could eat them straight from the garden. He also loves trash – especially plastic. Shee won’t eat it, but she loves to chew it – bottle caps, chapstick, pens, and such. Ella can be a bit timid when first when meeting new people but warms up to them quite fast. (Treats help!). Ella loves to play with other dogs and gets along well with the other two resident Aussies. Sometimes the play gets rambunctious and loud because Ella does love to bark!  She can get a little snappy during play, but a calm correction of “no teeth” and shewill back off. Because of this, she is probably not the best fit with little children. Ella loves cats – and usually does not chase them - most of the time the resident cat is ignored.  She has done great on car rides.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard with an adopter who will continue the training and love she has received in her foster home.  She is 100% certifiably adorable. Ella needs: A home with a secure, fenced-in yard A dedicated owner to lover her, give her confidence, and continue her training Ella Wants: Someone who will snuggle and rub her belly and take him out for walks Ella is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2510770##

Story
Olive is fostered in Beloit, WI. Olive (Ollie for short) is a 5 year old Mini Aussie/Brittany Spaniel mix with springs on her paws, a puppy's energy, and a quick mind. Ollie has such cute and loving ways with the cutest little sploot in the world!   Ollie would love nothing more than to spend her days loving and playing with her humans. She's a great fetcher inside or outside, and will bring her toy to you on demand. Ollie is a work in process. Her previous life did not teach her boundaries or how to be gentle in her play.  Ollie is currently learning impulse control and will need an adopter to this training, where she has clear and consistent boundaries. She will press you, and then be embarrassed when she brakes the rules, but consistency and patience will win out and give you a wonderful addition to your family.  Ollie is a SWEET girl and VERY eager to please. Ollie is crate trained, house trained and great in a car.  Ollie would do best with a fully enclosed yard and another playful companion to keep her company, to rough house with, and a ball to chase and fetch for you. Ollie would do best in a home with children over 10 years of age.  She was raised with a cat and does not show any wish to chase them or bother them at all. Squirrels, on the other hand, are a different subject altogether! Ollie is a GREAT little girl looking for an adopter who wants to be active with her, teach her new things, and then cuddle on the couch after a rigorous game of fetch.  Are you looking for a sweet girl like her? Olive is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.  We do require proof of purchase of heartworm prevention for any current or prior pets. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2510764##
