Story
Oreo is a terrier mix who is almost 12 years old (his birthday is on Valentine's Day!) We adopted him from Orphans of the Storm in 2020 where we were informed that he came from a home of neglect and abuse, so he does take time to warm up to and he is not a very cuddly dog. He is a big foodie and a very calm dog (he rarely barks). He enjoys his time in the sun inside and exploring the outdoors. He knows some commands like sit, paw, and turn around, and he will eventually learn as long as food is involved! Oreo is house trained, however he is getting old. He leaks a few drops, so we have been using diapers (his special need), which work well. (He has never had incidents with #2, only #1). Oreo is one of a kind; he is shy, quiet, but will get very energetic for food, sometimes he shows some attitude, and other times he will quietly come and sit next to you and give you his paw. Overall, Oreo is looking for a patient, calm, and loving home, with $0 adoption fee.

Story
Meet Ariel! Ariel is a sweet, gentle 2 year old 40lb Cattle Hound mix with a playful yet submissive personality and a whole lot of love to give. She adores being around people and other dogs and wants to be part of the household action, happily following her foster mom from room to room just to stay close. Ariel is crate trained and doing well with basic commands. She is still polishing her housetraining skills, specifically learning how to let her foster mom know when she needs to go out, but she does great with pottying outside. She knows her name, comes when called, and is always excited for the next adventure whether thats romping in the backyard, enjoying long walks, or curling up on the couch for cuddle time. Curious by nature, Ariel can entertain herself and loves playing with the smaller dogs in her foster home. She is excellent at sharing her bones and toys and is just an all around sweet natured dog. Shes also curious about cats, but as long as they arent running, she shows no desire in chase. Ariel would thrive in many types of homes, as long as she has a daily opportunity to stretch her legs and, most importantly, a loving person to snuggle with in the evenings. If youre looking for a sweet, loyal companion, she may be your girl! Story
Hi! I am Noah. I am a 3-4 ish year old male Bernese mountain dog. I went to ForGood rescue after being found as a stray in central Illinois. I was SUPER skinny, - like sack of bones skinny but my foster family has given me lots of good food and I am getting heavier every day. I love to get all the snuggles, am potty trained and am so good in the backyard! I am good in the house- I dont need to be crated, but keep a watchful eye on me cuz o might steel a sock!! I juts cant help myself! I love to play with doggies, but am a little too assertive with cats. My foster mommy tells me that I would do best in a home that has lots of love to give me, is home more often than not, has a big backyard for me to run around in and doesnt have cats or small kids (I love kids its just that I just dont know my strength sometimes and maybe I think Im a lap dog). Speaking of laps - I would love to lay in one all day. I promise Im just a happy go lucky guy who needs my forever family!!! Story
Tucker was surrendered in Oklahoma and was left with no options. When he arrived in Illinois we quickly learned that men were on his "naughty" list and that he may have had a harder first few years than we had hoped. Lucky for him he found an amazing foster mama who took him in and showed him a life of love and companionship. He is great with dogs and cats and crate trained. He can be a little naughty with potty if not watched but has gotten better every month he is here. He loves to lounge on the couch after a jaunt around the yard and will be your best side kick with his loyal nature. Tuckers ideal home would be similar to his fosters- an understanding mama ( no daddy please) with or without other dogs and cats, and no kiddos. Tucker has a lot of love and silly antics to share with the right family. Could it be yours ?? Story
Meet Sweet Christopher Christopher is an absolutely adorable approximately 1-year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing in at just 11 pounds of pure love. This little guy may be a bit timid when you first meet him, but give him a little time and patience and youll discover the most affectionate, devoted snugglebug imaginable. This sweet boy will prove to be worth every minute. Once Christopher trusts you, he bonds quickly and wholeheartedly. He loves to be by your side, soaking up cuddles and giving sweet little looks that will melt your heart. Hes incredibly loyal and happiest when hes with his persons... young to old. He loves his toys, enjoys playtime, and has the perfect mix of spunky energy and cozy couch companion. He has excellent house manners... no jumping or barking, walks beautifully on a leash, is doing great with his house training, and is an absolute rockstar in his crate. Christopher adores other dogs big or small and truly needs a home with an active doggy companion to help him continue building confidence and having fun. A playful canine buddy will bring out the very best in him. He will need a little time to adjust in a new environment, but with some consistency, love, and encouragement, Christopher blossoms into the most devoted little best friend. If youre looking for a loyal shadow who will make you smile every single day, Christopher is your pup.
