Story
Freya is an energetic 4 yr old girl. She is very affectionate and believes she is a lapdog. We have had her since 7 weeks old along with our other 2 dogs. Freya does fine with our male dog but as of lately is showing aggression toward our older female dog. She is a vey muscular dog and would do better with a younger family. She also would need a fenced back yard and preferably be the only pet. We are not sure how she will do around children because ours are all grown. This is not an easy decision for us and are not taking this lightly. We need her to go to a home that will treat her like family and give her all the love she deserves.

Story
Junior pka 50 Scent is fostered in Waukesha, WI. Meet Junior!  Born February 5, Junior may be a little taller than his siblings—but it’s his big personality that really makes him stand out! This adorable Aussie mix is the perfect blend of snuggly and playful. He loves to be right by your side, whether you’re relaxing on the couch or getting things done—he’s your little “helper” who just wants to tag along for the adventure. Junior is curious, affectionate, and full of charm. He’s also quite the talker and will happily “sing” along with you, making him as entertaining as he is lovable. He enjoys playing with other dogs and people, and he’s been exposed to dogs of all sizes, doing great with everyone he meets. He’s also been tested with kids and cats and has done wonderfully. Junior’s mom, an Aussie mix, came into rescue as a pregnant stray, so dad is a mystery—but based on the litter’s smaller size, we believe he may have been a smaller breed. He’s doing great with potty training and is already showing how smart and eager he is—Junior listens well and truly wants to make his people happy, which will make training a rewarding experience for his future family.  Like any puppy, he’s still learning and will need a home ready to guide him with patience, consistency, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a curious, cuddly, and fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling (and maybe singing), Junior might just be your perfect match! Even at this young age, these puppies are starting early socialization and gaining confidence as they explore the world around them. They are being exposed to normal household activity and human interaction to help set them up for success in their future homes. Because they are young puppies, they will need families who are committed to continuing their development. This includes: Ongoing socialization Positive training Potty training Plenty of exercise and mental stimulation Junior is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2654831##

Story
Schwartzy is being fostered in Waukesha WI Meet Schwartzy.  This stunning all black Australian Shepherd mix boy is a super sensitive soul, with his gold eyes that just melt your heart.  He came to us from a shelter where he was returned twice in his short little life. This boy wouldn't mind another canine companion in his home to play with but he could also be an only dog. This boy could be your lapdog or your backyard play buddy.  Schwartzy is potty trained and crate trained and likes his crate.   He is a small, young and insecure boy, just over a year old and is still working through some of his fears. He weighs in at just 40 lbs.  He will need a patient adopter that is willing to help him through some of these fears with calm, positive, clear leadership and dog handling skills. Once a bond is formed, he loves his person with all of his being.  We believe he was previously on a shock collar because he has some sensitivities with his neck being "grabbed" or any leash pressure on his neck.  His foster mom has been working with him to desensitize this specifically, but it is a work in progress for him.  In his foster home, he lives with many other dogs, cats, a bird and horses.  He does just fine with all those animals.  NEEDS FOR HIS FOREVER HOME: He would prefer a quieter country style or rural setting where there isn't a ton of commotion.  We also believe he needs children over the age of 14 in his home or no children at all. We recommend a physically fenced yard would also be important for him.   Do you have what it takes to give this boy a home and help him overcome his fears?  He is looking for a special human to be his forever.  Is that you? Schwartzy is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2654818##

Story
Bentley is fostered in Pleasonton, KS. Meet Bentley.  Bentley was surrendered to us when his owner had some medical issues and was unable to continue caring for him.  Bentley came in a little under-socialized and slightly overweight but he has come A LONG WAY! Bentley's date of birth is 9/6/2022, he is a male neutered Australian Shepherd mix who weighs 50 lbs. Bentley is silly, funny, and a bit of a goofball!  His true personality started showing up and it makes him SO adorable!  We think Bentley needs a forever home with another dog, a fenced yard and someone who will meet him where he is in his socialization, be patient with him so he can settle in and build a bond/trust with them.  Once that trust is built, watch out! He will be his goofy silly self! Bentley loves it when his foster mom asks him questions, he does this cute head tilt and cocks his ears up like he is listening to every word she says!  He is SO smart! In his prior home before coming to rescue, Bentley spent great deal of time in his crate.  For this reason, he did not receive proper socialization. Socialization is something his foster home has diligently been working on with him.  She has been desensitizing him to many things, including leash walking, grooming, other dogs and other people.  Bentley previously experienced some fears in some area, but he really has put in a lot of work and he is making wonderful progress in all areas. Bentley is in a foster home with 4 legged canine fur siblings of various ages and sizes, and does well with them.  We are unsure about cats.   Bentley is more of a low-key guy who is looking for an adopter who enjoys the same type of lifestyle. He prefers a home where there are less comings and goings.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard and a home that is both patient and has no children under age 12, and a canine companion. would be ideal for this guy. Bentley is a talker. The more you talk to him, the more he expresses his feelings.  Bentley is what we term a "work in progress", but he is the type of dog that will quickly become your best friend once trust is gained between you.  Bentley needs a hero and a new best friend.  Is that you? Bentley is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
