Story
Izzy (formerly Ostentatia Wallace) is a gentle, thoughtful soul who has quietly mastered the art of being an excellent house companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, she is fully house trained, non-destructive, and respectful of her surroundings—no counter surfing, no table begging, and no mischief when left alone. She crates well (with just a short moment to settle) and is incredibly easy to live with, making her the kind of dog who quickly feels like she’s always belonged.Izzy is very attentive to her people though does need slow introductions to new folks and does best in a calmer house with no young kids. She enjoys being near her humans, soaking up affection and attention, and loves being handled and petted. Izzy would like to be the only pet in the home and soak up all the attention. She already knows “sit” and, with her intelligence and willingness to learn, she has so much potential to pick up more cues and confidence-building skills.Outdoors, Izzy enjoys exploring and taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She isn’t particularly toy-motivated or fetch-focused, preferring relaxed romps and sniffing adventures. On leash, she gets excited when she sees other dogs or people and can be vocal.Izzy is a truly good girl—steady, loving, and ready for a home that will continue to help her grow in confidence while appreciating the wonderful dog she already is.Interested in adopting this dog?Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. Cooper is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Meet Cooper, your new best friend! If you`re looking for a companion who wants to be your sidekick, look no further than Cooper. Whether you`re working from home or relaxing, he is happy to keep you company. This sweet boy is a professional at two things: belly rubs and soaking up the sun while rolling in the grass. Cooper is a pro at settling into his crate calmly, but he`s always ready to jump up for a good game of fetch!Cooper is a gentle soul who is great with all ages, from toddlers to adults. He`s a well-rounded pup who gets along with other dogs and is respectful of cats. While he`s a chill housemate, he is still a pup at heart. He`s currently working on his house training and leash skills, and he likes to keep his brain busy with toys (so make sure he has plenty of chew toys to keep him from getting bored!). He`s already a master of the `sit` command and is eager to learn more. If you`re looking for a loyal, sun-loving shadow to join your family, Cooper is ready to meet you!We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dogs individual needs. Story
Resin is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Resin is a truly special dog with a heart full of love. He’s what many would call a “velcro dog,” happiest when he’s right by your side and soaking up all the attention he can get. Around 11 years old, he loves being touched, is calm and affectionate, and has a gentle, kind nature that makes him an easy companion to have around. Resin is also fully house trained and settles into a routine quickly. In his foster home, Resin does well overall in his crate (he may take a few minutes to settle) and rarely barks. He’s content lounging on the couch when you’re home and relaxes easily. While he’s still learning basic commands, he’s eager to please and thrives on being close to his person. On walks, he does best with a harness since he’s strong, and he may chase small animals if given the chance.Resin would do best in a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and secure. He can be sensitive to raised voices and may shut down if there’s yelling, so a patient, gentle environment will help him shine. With his incredibly sweet and loyal personality, Resin is the kind of dog who will quickly become a devoted best friend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Story
Abby Love is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her and her brother, Little Man, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Little Man (10 years old) and Abby Love (5 years old) are a sweet bonded pair of long-haired Dachshunds who must be adopted together. These devoted siblings share a special connection and take comfort in being by each other`s side. Both are affectionate, people-oriented dogs who enjoy relaxing on the couch, napping in cozy dog beds, and spending time with their family. They get along well with cats and children of all ages, making them wonderful companions for many different types of households.Little Man is a gentle love bug who likes to know his people are nearby. He enjoys lounging in sunny spots and soaking up attention. Abby Love is equally affectionate and full of personality, actively seeking out pets and cuddles whenever she can. She knows her name, comes when called, and is especially devoted to her brother. Together, they are happiest when included in daily family life. Both dogs are doing well with house training and thrive on a consistent routine. They sleep together in a large kennel in their foster family`s bedroom and settle down nicely after a few minutes. They walk well using a leash and harness, though Little Man does have some difficulty with stairs and may benefit from a home that can accommodate his mobility needs. Abby enjoys her walks and is an easy companion on outings.Like many Dachshunds, Little Man and Abby Love are alert little watchdogs who aren`t shy about announcing visitors, neighborhood activity, or wildlife in the yard. Birds, squirrels, rabbits, and passing neighbors all catch their attention, and they can be vocal when outside. If you`re looking for a pair of loving, loyal companions who will bring double the affection and double the charm, Little Man and Abby Love are ready to find their forever home together. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Story
Ross is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Meet Ross--A low-key, low-maintenance, housebroken dog who had a rough start in life and is now blossoming into a reliable and independent companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, Ross does great in his crate, loves car rides and is confident meeting new people. He does tend to resource guard his food/toys a bit so it may be best if he is in a home without other dogs. Ross doesn`t bark often, but you`ll laugh when he does as he has a sweet, wheezy `smoker`s cough` bark. He also is a champion scooter when laying on his back and has amazing talent arranging pillows into a comfortable nest for naps. Belly rub? Yes and often! Ross knows `sit` and `leave it,` will come when he is called and is eager to learn more commands. If you are looking for a grateful and well-adjusted companion, please come meet Ross! And bring a ham hock! It`s one of his favorite treats! We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs.
