Story
Meet Trout, a sweet and shy, medium-sized, mixed-breed puppy in search of her forever home. This lovely girl is looking for her school of fish to swim home to! Trout hopes that her future home includes dog friends and squeaky toys and a cozy blanket to swim in at the end of the day.
Trout is a little shy at first, but with some patience, consistency, and love, she will quickly warm up to her new family and will make a wonderful companion. She is a playful pup who loves to run and play once she is comfortable. Trout loves other dogs, and she will blossom learning from other dogs in the home. She just needs to find the loving family who will take things slow and help her continue to build her confidence so that she can thrive. Could that be you?

"Trout had a very hard time at the shelter, she was often hiding in a corner and shaking due to the frequent loud noises and strangers walking by. So it has been very rewarding to watch Trouty relax, gain confidence, and let her personality emerge in the few months that she has been at my home. She loves to play with toys, she is the best snuggler, and she enjoys short sniffy walks when it's quiet outside. Trout has been very brave adjusting to life in my home without another dog to show her the ropes. But she LOVES other dogs, and having another canine around helps with her confidence, so she would really thrive with a doggy sibling or two!" -Trout's foster mom
Trout recently started staying with a new foster family, and they report that Trout loves to play outside with their dogs in the fenced yard, and after playtime, she likes to cuddle and nap. She has been consistently pottying outside in the fenced yard, and she goes to the patio door when she needs to go out. She has quickly warmed up to the whole family - she greets them with tail wags and kisses, and sleeps with them through the night. Trout is an All-Star dog! Her adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and she will go home with her very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
