Story
Darla is a 9 year old American Lab. She has been in our family her entire life. She is really the sweetest girl. She’s been around children and babies as I have a 3 and a 4 year old. She does run from them when they try to ride her :-) She is active, loves to chase bunnies in our yard, but hasn’t caught one yet. She’s a good watch dog, always alerting us when people come by the house. This is painful to let her go. She is literally so special to our family, but we need to relocate and have no one to take her. I’m hoping to find a good family for her.

Story
Resin is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Resin is a truly special dog with a heart full of love. He’s what many would call a “velcro dog,” happiest when he’s right by your side and soaking up all the attention he can get. Around 11 years old, he loves being touched, is calm and affectionate, and has a gentle, kind nature that makes him an easy companion to have around. Resin is also fully house trained and settles into a routine quickly. In his foster home, Resin does well overall in his crate (he may take a few minutes to settle) and rarely barks. He’s content lounging on the couch when you’re home and relaxes easily. While he’s still learning basic commands, he’s eager to please and thrives on being close to his person. On walks, he does best with a harness since he’s strong, and he may chase small animals if given the chance.Resin would do best in a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and secure. He can be sensitive to raised voices and may shut down if there’s yelling, so a patient, gentle environment will help him shine. With his incredibly sweet and loyal personality, Resin is the kind of dog who will quickly become a devoted best friend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Copey is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Copey is simply learning to be a dog as a dog should be – loved! Who could honestly resist his big brown eyes? Copey is in need of a seasoned family that will enjoy teaching him to enjoy the “dog’s life” as it should be. He can be skittish, but never aggressive. Copey has been great with kids above four.Curious about other dogs of all sizes, Copey will show interest in a passive way. He loves to sleep with a favorite toy, but needs to learn all the joy that comes from playing with those toys, too. He loves being outside, so a yard will really benefit his growth.Copey eats well and is not picky. He sleeps in a crate and feels comfort in it, but only with the door open. Don’t, worry, though. He gets in no mischief, has had no accidents, and uses the doggy door regularly to do his business. This sweet, quiet, timid boy is in need of love, play, and patience and he so deserves that! Come meet Copey and see if he is your match. Story
Baby is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Baby is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. This sweet 8-year-old Shepherd has a gentle soul, a constantly wagging tail, and so much love to give to the people around her. She’s fully house trained, happily lets you know when she’d like to go outside, and can be trusted with free roam of the home while you’re away. Baby adores being near her humans, whether she’s lounging on the couch, curled up in her dog bed, or joining you for a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. One of Baby’s most charming qualities is her calm, affectionate nature. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, tolerates cats respectfully, and would likely thrive in a family with children thanks to her patient demeanor. While she can be a little shy with fast movements or sudden pets, a slow and gentle approach quickly earns her trust. Baby is learning her leash manners and enjoys following the lead of her canine friends on walks. She especially loves being outdoors, as long as her favorite people are nearby.Baby’s foster describes her as grateful, loyal, and deeply loving — the kind of companion who simply wants to be cherished and included. She has playful little bursts of energy with her beloved crinkle toy, but she’s equally content relaxing close to her people. Because she struggles a bit with stairs, she would do best in a home with minimal climbing. In return, Baby promises endless devotion, soft companionship, and the quiet comfort that only a truly special dog can bring. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. Story
Abby Love is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her and her brother, Little Man, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Little Man (10 years old) and Abby Love (5 years old) are a sweet bonded pair of long-haired Dachshunds who must be adopted together. These devoted siblings share a special connection and take comfort in being by each other`s side. Both are affectionate, people-oriented dogs who enjoy relaxing on the couch, napping in cozy dog beds, and spending time with their family. They get along well with cats and children of all ages, making them wonderful companions for many different types of households.Little Man is a gentle love bug who likes to know his people are nearby. He enjoys lounging in sunny spots and soaking up attention. Abby Love is equally affectionate and full of personality, actively seeking out pets and cuddles whenever she can. She knows her name, comes when called, and is especially devoted to her brother. Together, they are happiest when included in daily family life. Both dogs are doing well with house training and thrive on a consistent routine. They sleep together in a large kennel in their foster family`s bedroom and settle down nicely after a few minutes. They walk well using a leash and harness, though Little Man does have some difficulty with stairs and may benefit from a home that can accommodate his mobility needs. Abby enjoys her walks and is an easy companion on outings.Like many Dachshunds, Little Man and Abby Love are alert little watchdogs who aren`t shy about announcing visitors, neighborhood activity, or wildlife in the yard. Birds, squirrels, rabbits, and passing neighbors all catch their attention, and they can be vocal when outside. If you`re looking for a pair of loving, loyal companions who will bring double the affection and double the charm, Little Man and Abby Love are ready to find their forever home together. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Story
Ross is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Meet Ross--A low-key, low-maintenance, housebroken dog who had a rough start in life and is now blossoming into a reliable and independent companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, Ross does great in his crate, loves car rides and is confident meeting new people. He does tend to resource guard his food/toys a bit so it may be best if he is in a home without other dogs. Ross doesn`t bark often, but you`ll laugh when he does as he has a sweet, wheezy `smoker`s cough` bark. He also is a champion scooter when laying on his back and has amazing talent arranging pillows into a comfortable nest for naps. Belly rub? Yes and often! Ross knows `sit` and `leave it,` will come when he is called and is eager to learn more commands. If you are looking for a grateful and well-adjusted companion, please come meet Ross! And bring a ham hock! It`s one of his favorite treats! We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background.
