Story
Darla is a 9 year old American Lab. She has been in our family her entire life. She is really the sweetest girl. She’s been around children and babies as I have a 3 and a 4 year old. She does run from them when they try to ride her :-) She is active, loves to chase bunnies in our yard, but hasn’t caught one yet. She’s a good watch dog, always alerting us when people come by the house. This is painful to let her go. She is literally so special to our family, but we need to relocate and have no one to take her. I’m hoping to find a good family for her.

Story
Izzy (formerly Ostentatia Wallace) is a gentle, thoughtful soul who has quietly mastered the art of being an excellent house companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, she is fully house trained, non-destructive, and respectful of her surroundings—no counter surfing, no table begging, and no mischief when left alone. She crates well (with just a short moment to settle) and is incredibly easy to live with, making her the kind of dog who quickly feels like she’s always belonged.Izzy is very attentive to her people though does need slow introductions to new folks and does best in a calmer house with no young kids. She enjoys being near her humans, soaking up affection and attention, and loves being handled and petted. Izzy would like to be the only pet in the home and soak up all the attention. She already knows “sit” and, with her intelligence and willingness to learn, she has so much potential to pick up more cues and confidence-building skills.Outdoors, Izzy enjoys exploring and taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She isn’t particularly toy-motivated or fetch-focused, preferring relaxed romps and sniffing adventures. On leash, she gets excited when she sees other dogs or people and can be vocal.Izzy is a truly good girl—steady, loving, and ready for a home that will continue to help her grow in confidence while appreciating the wonderful dog she already is.Interested in adopting this dog?Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. Chorizo is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Hi there! Chorizo here.As you can see from my pictures, I am a handsome young pup with a `boopable` nose. 7 - 8 months old, and on my way to being a large dog (maybe 80 lbs. or so) I am ready to explore the world.I am a very sweet boy, ready to make friends with everyone I meet. Playing with other dogs is a ton of fun. I love toys and bones. A good game of keep away is super but don`t worry I am happy to share. After the play session I am all in for a snuggle on the couch with the humans (dog friends are welcome to join in as well) I am still trying to figure out walking on a leash and look forward to mastering that with my forever family.I am still a puppy, a big one but a puppy nonetheless so I have lots to learn. Luckily, I LOVE food, I mean obsessed .... so am happy to have lots of `learning sessions` when there are treats involved. I will settle in my crate after a brief reminder it is not my favorite place, I am getting really good at remembering to ask to go outside `when nature calls` and while I might occasionally try to counter surf, I can be redirected. My foster mom says I am chatty, whatever that means. Not sure what the problem is, I think it adds to my charm but with the proper guidance I can work on it.Ready to add a new canine addition to the family. I can`t wait to meet you.We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dogs` individual needs. Deb Frompayroll is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Meet Deb Frompayroll, the newest employee in the Department of Fun and Snacks! Named after that coworker everyone knows but nobody can quite place, Deb is a 4-5-month-old terrier mix puppy who has already mastered the art of networking, especially if treats are involved. This smart young professional is highly food-motivated, eager to learn, and always ready to clock in for a play session with her canine coworkers.Deb`s resume includes excellent stuffy management, advanced Kong-chewing skills, and outstanding teamwork with other dogs. She`s currently enrolled in Potty Training 101 and making steady progress, though she still needs a little supervision before earning her certification. While she enjoys spending time in the backyard, she`s filed formal complaints about both rain and water, preferring to keep her paws dry whenever possible. In the office, Deb is known for being surprisingly quiet, only speaking up during particularly exciting play meetings. She sleeps soundly through the night in her kennel and is working on becoming more comfortable with leash walks. If you`re looking for a smart, sweet, treat-loving pup who will happily become your favorite coworker, Deb Frompayroll is ready to submit her application for the position of Best Dog Ever.We love our dogs. Cooper is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Meet Cooper, your new best friend! If you`re looking for a companion who wants to be your sidekick, look no further than Cooper. Whether you`re working from home or relaxing, he is happy to keep you company. This sweet boy is a professional at two things: belly rubs and soaking up the sun while rolling in the grass. Cooper is a pro at settling into his crate calmly, but he`s always ready to jump up for a good game of fetch!Cooper is a gentle soul who is great with all ages, from toddlers to adults. He`s a well-rounded pup who gets along with other dogs and is respectful of cats. While he`s a chill housemate, he is still a pup at heart. He`s currently working on his house training and leash skills, and he likes to keep his brain busy with toys (so make sure he has plenty of chew toys to keep him from getting bored!). He`s already a master of the `sit` command and is eager to learn more. If you`re looking for a loyal, sun-loving shadow to join your family, Cooper is ready to meet you!We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dogs individual needs.
