Story
Are you looking for a small, lovable little girl that needs her own best friend? I have loving 6 year old Chihuahua that deserves a life with someone that makes her the center of their world. One that has a ready lap for her to curl up on and stay for as long as you let her. I am gone soooo much. She needs a home with no small children or animals that move quickly or want to get her personal space. She loves humans but barely tolerates other animals. When it comes to small children, she will stay away because fast movements aren’t her favorite. She won’t go after them, but she will stand up for herself if she feels threatened. She doesn’t HAVE to have a new home. I love her dearly. It’s because of that love I want someone that can give her what I cannot - A consistent daily potty routine, lots of TIME, and A LOT of lap cuddles.

Story
I got Nala when she was 4 weeks old and she has been my best friend for the past 10 years. She has been the best dog ive ever had and this is one of the hardest things ive ever had to do :(. I am an over the road truck driver and Nala has been with me on plenty of trips but now that she is older, she no longer wants to be in the truck and i live out of my truck. Ive tried to accommodate her and keep her occupied while i drive but she cries all the time now and it breaks my heart. I know she is a senior but i just cant bring myself to put her to sleep :( i just cant. She has so much love, energy, and life in her and i cant cut that short just because i cant keep her anymore. She gives the best love you will ever get from a dog and i am praying to find a very very loving family, couple, or person who will love my best friend the way that i have and the way that she deserves for the rest of her days. Thats all i want is for her to be happy with loving people.

Story
Ostentatia Wallace is a gentle, thoughtful soul who has quietly mastered the art of being an excellent house companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, she is fully house trained, non-destructive, and respectful of her surroundings—no counter surfing, no table begging, and no mischief when left alone. She crates well (with just a short moment to settle) and is incredibly easy to live with, making her the kind of dog who quickly feels like she’s always belonged. This smart girl is eager to please and very attentive to her people. She enjoys being near her humans, soaking up affection and attention, and loves being handled and petted. While she’s not a fan of being picked up (she’s a sturdy 60 lbs, after all!), she shows her affection by staying close and being a calm, loving presence. She already knows “sit” and, with her intelligence and willingness to learn, she has so much potential to pick up more cues and confidence-building skills.Outdoors, Ostentatia enjoys exploring and taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She isn’t particularly toy-motivated or fetch-focused, preferring relaxed romps and sniffing adventures. On leash, she gets excited when she sees other dogs or people and can be vocal. At home, Ostentatia shines brightest. She naps comfortably during the day, sleeps well in her crate at night (though she’d happily trade that for a spot in bed someday), and settles beautifully into a routine. She does best with older kids and teens (13+), and while her experience with cats is unknown, her overall demeanor is calm and affectionate. Ostentatia Wallace is a truly good girl—steady, loving, and ready for a home that will continue to help her grow in confidence while appreciating the wonderful dog she already is.Interested in adopting this dog?Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. Panini is currently at the SCCR Adoption Center. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application. My name is Panini, and I promise I’m just as warm and toasty as my name suggests. I have a dark coat, with brown paws and the cutest little ears that perk up when I hear the treat bag. I’m about 3-months old and expected to be 40–50 lbs. I’m a snuggly, sandwich-sized sidekick now, but soon I’ll be the perfect adventure buddy — pressed, grilled, and ready to go.We love our dogs. Story
Letti is a sweet, loyal girl who loves being near her people — whether she’s napping nearby or happily chewing on her favorite toy. She’s a cuddle bug at heart and is always ready to snuggle up on the couch or ask for some one-on-one attention (sometimes a little enthusiastically!).Letti enjoys spending time outdoors, especially chasing leaves and exploring the yard. She can be a bit shy on walks, so a patient adopter with treats and a secure harness will help her build confidence. She’s a smart girl who responds well to redirection and enjoys training sessions — they’re a great way to engage her curious mind and strengthen your bond. Letti does best with slow introductions to new people and dogs and will thrive with someone who understands her need to feel safe and secure. While confinement isn’t her favorite, Letti does well when given a comfy space and the freedom to relax. She’s learning that being alone is okay and shows her gentle, loyal nature by waiting patiently for her person to come home.Letti is a loving companion who will blossom with a dog-savvy adopter ready to give her the structure, understanding, and affection she deserves. Once she trusts you, she’ll be your devoted shadow — always close by, ready to love and be loved.Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Ross is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.Meet Ross--A low-key, low-maintenance, housebroken dog who had a rough start in life and is now blossoming into a reliable and independent companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, Ross does great in his crate, loves car rides and is confident meeting new people. He does tend to resource guard his food/toys a bit so it may be best if he is in a home without other dogs. Ross doesn`t bark often, but you`ll laugh when he does as he has a sweet, wheezy `smoker`s cough` bark. He also is a champion scooter when laying on his back and has amazing talent arranging pillows into a comfortable nest for naps. Belly rub? Yes and often! Ross knows `sit` and `leave it,` will come when he is called and is eager to learn more commands. If you are looking for a grateful and well-adjusted companion, please come meet Ross! And bring a ham hock! It`s one of his favorite treats! We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs.
