Petey is a spectacular approximately 5 month old Heinz 57 special. We are not sure of his mix but we think possibly shepherd, hound, heeler? Petey is funny and smart. He catches on very quickly with his main goal of doing the right thing. Petey wants to learn and tries very hard to be a good boy. He has a great attitude and his connection to people is deep. He loves nothing more than being talked to and cuddling with his person. Petey loves to play and loves getting attention from his people. He's good with other dogs and with cats, too. He loves water and can spend an endless amount of time splashing in his baby pool. Petey is working on his potty training and will potty immediately upon going outside. He is perfectly crate trained and sleeps thru the night in his kennel. Petey is very treat motivated and he is a quick learner. Petey’s zest for life is contagious and watching him run and play is an absolute joy! Petey's adoption fee of $375 includes vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, Rabies vaccine, flea/tick control, deworming, heartworm preventative, microchip and neuter.

Emmer is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet her during open hours! Scroll through her pictures to see her cute videos! Sweet, wide-eyed Emmer was surrendered to Chicago Animal Care and Control after her owner lost their housing. Emmer was at CACC for over a month, and seemed so heartbreakingly sad. We decided to take her in to our rescue, and we are so glad that we did! Emmer was known to be a shy and reserved dog, a wallflower, and indeed she was...for the first two hours! Shortly after her arrival to us Emmer must have realized she was safe and almost home free, because her entire demeanor changed... She is just a normal pup who wants to party! Emmer loves her dog pals, and loves swimming and splashing in water, as you can see in her videos! She loves playgroup, and is a star. Emmer really turned her frown upside down so quickly, and now she will not stop smiling and showing us all that Fruit Roll Up tongue of hers! We love when dogs finally feel safe and happy enough to show us their sparkle. Never stop shining, Emmer! Emmer's adoption fee is $300. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
