Story
Sasha is a sweet female Mastiff mix, 69 lbs and about 1½ years old, who is looking for a safe place to land. She was found as a stray and is believed to have possibly been hit by a car. A veterinary exam showed no broken bones, which is great news, but she is still being monitored for any possible after effects.Sasha is a bit timid at first, which is understandable given what she has likely been through. With a slow approach and a calm, gentle greeting, she begins to relax and show her softer side. She walks well on a leash and seems to appreciate quiet reassurance. As we spend more time getting to know Sasha, we will continue to share updates about her personality and needs. For now, she is a gentle soul who could really use patience, kindness, and a loving home.If you are interested in meeting Sasha, please complete an Interest Form. An adoption counselor will contact you to schedule an appointment.February 4, 2026, 1:28 pm

Story
Meet Bishop!Bishop is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who has been charming us at the shelter since he arrived — and the more we learn about him, the more we adore him. This handsome black-and-white boy has put on some healthy weight and now sits at a solid 50 pounds. He’s not just filling out physically — his personality has been shining brighter every day. Bishop already knows basic commands and has a natural desire to please, making him a wonderful candidate for continued training. He’s eager to learn, eager to connect, and always ready to show off his good manners. One thing Bishop absolutely excels at? Cuddling. Whether he’s leaning in for affection or settling in beside you (or right on your lap), he soaks up love like it’s his favorite pastime. He’s also shown strong signs of being housetrained during multiple volunteer sleepovers, where he’s been an excellent guest. And of course, we can’t forget his adorable webbed paws — we’re still curious whether they hint at a love for swimming!Bishop is a sweet, affectionate, people-loving dog who’s ready to bring joy into a home of his own. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Bishop just might be your perfect match. If you are interested in meeting Bishop, please complete an Interest Form. This sweet girl absolutely loves people and soaks up every bit of attention she can get. It doesn’t take long for her to make friends. She’s already well on her way to becoming a volunteer fave.True to her name, Jazzy is energetic, playful and she has an energetic spark when she first gets going. Story
Meet Bruce — the boy who’s been waiting for someone to see the gentle heart behind those big, hopeful eyes.Bruce is a 3 year old, 50 pound American Staffordshire Terrier with a story that tugs at you in all the right ways. He was found wandering as a stray, and although he tried his best to be brave, the shelter environment was overwhelming for him. The stress took a toll — he lost weight, shut down a bit, and quietly waited for life to get better. And then it did. Thanks to Sammy’s Hope, Bruce was welcomed into a loving foster home where he could finally exhale. In just a short time, he has blossomed into the dog he was always meant to be. He’s relaxed, curious about the world, and so affectionate it’s impossible not to fall for him. His appetite is back, he sleeps soundly through the night in his crate without a peep, and he’s rediscovered the simple joy of playing with his toys.Bruce is friendly, eager to please, and knows his basic commands. He’s also extremely food motivated — treats are his love language — which makes training fun and rewarding. His foster family describes him as a sweetheart who just wants to be near his people and soak up the comfort he missed for so long.Bruce isn’t just looking for a home. He’s looking for his home — the one where he can continue to feel safe, cherished, and part of something real and lasting. If you’re searching for a loyal companion with a tender spirit and a heart ready to bond deeply, Bruce is waiting. If you are interested in meeting Bruce, please complete an Interest Form.
