Story
Molly is almost 6 years old and 90 pounds. She is a beautiful Springer Spaniel Mix who has amazing qualities! She is great with kids and has lived with young ones her whole life. She is well-behaved in the house, and completely housebroken! She is overall easy going and loves to go on adventures or just hang with her people. She adores her little kid siblings. Molly has been in her home for 4 years. Unfortunately her family can no longer care for her due to personal reasons. Molly has lived her life as an only dog and we think she would like to keep it that way. Molly has played nicely with dogs outside the home and has frequented doggie daycare too! Molly likes to play with dogs on neutral turf but would prefer not to have canine visitors on her own yard or home. She is also not a big fan of cats. Molly is looking for a single family home with a physical fence. Time is of the essence for this adult girl. We are looking for a foster or adopter in or around CT! Please fill out this application if you can help Molly: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ZIVA/Dog

Story
My name is Chewy. I am a dog that has shown his potential to grow leaps and bounds in just a few weeks. I am about 1 year old and around 50 lbs. We aren't really sure what I am but here are some ideas - Ridgeback, Chow, Lab. Those are probably pretty close! When I went to my foster home a couple of months ago, I was a very timid boy. I was likely never shown anything consistent in my young life. I have put in the effort to enjoy my surroundings and try new things! I love other dogs and enjoy my two foster siblings. I am hesitant at first as I don't want any dog or human to think I am a threat; I am gentle and need to take it in stride. I have really learned how to "dog" now! I am "easy" in many ways, out of the puppy phase, I want to please, watch and learn. I am also a quiet dog. I ma looking for a patient, consistent and secure home that consists of kind souls. I will come out of my shell but my humans need to let me make that transition at my comfort level. My next move to my forever home will be easier than my transition from the shelter to foster home. I have the tools to take with me and if you see me in my videos and pictures, I am there! I enjoy being close to my humans and dogs and I have every interest to explore what life has to offer. I go on walks and I even ride in the car! A fenced in yard is a must for me - just because it gives me the freedom to go at my own pace. Story
My name is Blondiemay! I am a very regal looking girl. I am a German Shepherd Mix. I am about 4 years old and 95 lbs. I am a goofy, fun-loving, friendly, housebroken, crate-trained, good with cats, good with dogs, good with kids kind of gal. I am playful and full of life; curious and I also walk well on leash. And, I am an exceptional car rider; I just hang out and relax. A fenced in yard would be great, a few weekly strolls and outings to keep me entertained and socialized would be fantastic. I could easily live with a dog friend or two and a cat or two. The cats should be tolerable of some play because I do like to play with my cat co-residents sometimes. I am also totally fine with kids and have experience with youngsters! If you are a Shepherd lover who wants an easy going girl, I am such a catch. I am located in NJ in a wonderful foster home! Story
My name is Brooks! I am about 3.5 months old and 25 lbs. I am an absolute beauty mixed with Cattle Dog, Lab and probably some Pyrenees! I am soft and fluffy and absolutely love to cuddle and be with my humans. I am also smart! I was introduced to fetch and I am a natural. I am good with other dogs; I am just a puppy so I have to learn the ropes. I feel like I can keep up with all of them and I have a confidence about me. I could live with another dog or I could be your only baby. We are unsure about the kitties. I bet I would love some school-aged kids to run around with! When my new home scoops me up, I will need them to show me the housebreaking routine. If my people want to use a crate, I need them to teach me about settling in one of those too. I can do it, I just need some practice and consistency. I am going to make a fun and active dog for a person or family. I will be totally open to any training that comes my way too! I am in a foster home in NJ! Here is a link to the application: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
My name is Poppy! I am a brindle beauty! I am such a catch. I am about 12 to 18 months and full grown at 45 lbs. I have so many amazing qualities. I am great with all people and kids and greet everyone like they are one of my best friends. I am the same with dogs. Where I live, I meet a lot of new dogs and get a lot of exposure to all ages, sizes and temperaments. I am friendly and playful with all of them. I really love my toys... I do like to rip them up! I am housebroken and I do well in my crate at night and when needed during the day. I am obedient and even at my young age, I am good about not jumping; I am willing to learn what you teach me. I am a medium energy very happy girl that would love adventure, walks and really just my own family. I think I am one of those dogs that knows how lucky I am to have been saved. Story
Meet Floyd My name is Floyd! (This is a little long but please read!) I am not just a dog—I am a gentle soul with a heart big enough to fill your entire home. Despite a rough start and a few health bumps, I wake up every day with a wagging tail, ready to play fetch (even if I can’t see where the ball lands—I’ll find it with my nose and my heart ?). I am around 4 years old, 60 lbs and a stunning Catahoula mix. I was thrown out like trash by some very mean people. By some miracle, I survived. I was given this chance to search for my new family. I have certainly earned the right to a loving life. I am looking to be: • ? A best buddy to older kids and adults (I have not been exposed to kids under 11) • ? A dog friend/sibling to other respectful dogs • ? A dog brother to a cat or cats • ? Appreciative of all home comforts and living things and show my willingness to experience the world • ?A great patient to my new family - I am diabetic (managed with insulin twice a day and eye drops)—and a champion about it! Why am I listed as “special needs?” This my deal - I have cataracts that limits my vision. I don’t let it stop me from enjoying every ounce of love and play I can find! Ziva Dog Rescue has started to raise funds for a $7,000 surgery to restore my sight. I can still see but it’s limited. I am so excited to wake up after my procedure and see clearly! Could I “give in” and just let the cataracts take over? I guess… but I am still young and we feel that I finally deserve a full quality of life! ?I am not looking for perfect in my new home (no one is perfect) —I am looking for present. Someone who sees past my medical chart and might have some experience with diabetic dogs. If you’ve ever wanted to be someone’s hero, this is your moment. Adopt me! Let me show you what unconditional love really looks like. Ziva Dog Rescue realizes that by adopting a dog like Floyd, Floyd’s new family may take on “out of the norm” expenses right away. Thank you to the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, Floyd’s fee will be waived when he is adopted by his forever family. If you would like to apply to adoption Floyd, here is the application: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/ If you would like to donate to Floyd’s future surgery, he certainly appreciates every dollar: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/donate/
