Story
My name is Hutch. I am about 6.5 years old and 53 lbs. I am the full package and have been waiting way too long for my family to come along. I think people must be worried abbot my age. Why I ask? I am not a senior which may give some people pause, I guess. I am a mature and healthy adult that will slip right into most lifestyles with ease and little effort. I love people and I am fabulous with kids of all ages. If you have young ones, I could be a great fit for your home. I am extremely loyal and love to be close but I am also independent. I am good with other dogs. I live with two dogs in my foster home. I like to play and I enjoy their company! But, I can easily live as an only dog. Really, when the right family comes along, I will fit right in. I am completely housebroken and trustworthy. No crate needed! I am totally fine if you have to go to work, run some errands or just can't take me with you. I walk well on leash and have fun going out and about in social situations. I am medium energy. I am a master at cuddling on the couch and just chilling. Toys? I am a fan of stuffies and love to carry them around in my mouth. My fee has been reduced as a result of a very wonderful donor! I am located in CT. Here is the link to the application: https://www.zivadogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
My name is Mitch. I have a story. I have a story of hope and luck and chance. Here is my abbreviated version: I was saved by a wonderful family from the streets of Texas - I was starved, hot and thirsty. This family ended up welcoming me into their home in the Northeast. They wanted to see my care through in the hopes they would be my forever people. I love them so much, I could not have asked for better care. But, I am not thriving in my urban environment. It's not their fault - it's where they live and that can't be changed right now. I deserve to be relaxed and at ease and as much as we all wish it was different, it just isn't. So my fabulous humans reached out to Ziva Dog Rescue to help me find the perfect home that I deserve so much. Facts: I am 7 years old. I am a Great Pyrenees Mix. I am about 70 lbs but when I fill out should probably be closer to 80. I am tall, lean and graceful. I am housebroken and I am a mature adult so no crate needed nor am I into those either. I am friendly with everyone - kids, cats and dogs. I am even friendly with horses and chickens. I frequent a farm and love being around animals of all kinds. I am a southern gentleman and when I greet you, I will literally shake your hand. I have that amazing "Pyr paw" going. A fenced in yard is ideal for my breed mix. I need a family that can also take me on walks because I seem to like those when I am not in the midst of many moving cars, loud trains and many people like I am on the city streets. I enjoy coffee shops, bookstores and social settings. I love the woods and going on short hikes. I am very attached to my people and want them around more often than not. Who can blame me... who knows what my life has been until now. I don't want to let this chance go. I will melt your heart when you meet me. Truly. All of these steps and the effort of so many people are going to lead me to exactly where I am supposed to be. I am located in the NJ area. Story
My name is Darcy. I am just about the full package in a compact frame. I am about 50 lbs (a little chubby but thats fine) and almost two years old. I am young and fun but also well behaved and easy to have around. I am housebroken, crate trained and just fine when left alone for a few hours. I am incredibly smart and attentive. I absolutely adore my humans and all the other humans. I have never met at stranger. I know my basic commands and I am very food motivated. I walk well on the leash and love to go for strolls. I love toys especially those squeaky toys. I have interacted with dogs outside of my home and did well. I seem interested in playing sometimes but generally aloof to most of the canines. My focus is all on my humans. I don't need those other dogs. Being an only dog would be ideal so I don't have any competition! I had puppies at 10 months old. I nursed them, took great care of them and they all found homes. I know my home is out there... but, sometimes for us adults, it just takes a little longer to find. No cats please. Story
Meet Finn! Finn is a 6 month old lab/collie/staffie mix and weighs about 30 lbs. Finn is naturally a shy guy and a very gentle soul. He likes to check things out first. He warms up rather quickly to his female humans but needs a bit of time to trust those male counterparts. Once he trusts, he is affectionate and extremely loyal. Finn is housebroken and crate trained. He sleeps great in his crate at night. Finn loves other dogs and lives for playing and tumbling in the yard (canine sibling & fence gives you bonus points). He would do well with a dog to follow, give him pointers and play with him. Finn lives with younger kids. He is hesitant but has no animosity towards them or anything in his life! He will take treats from them gently and watch all the funny things they do. Finn is pretty good on leash and will only get better if given a little practice time. Finn has had a good start at learning basic manners and will need support in his new home as he grows into the best dog ever. He is very food motivated! Finn is looking for a special family that can let his brilliance flourish. Here is a link to his application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ZIVA/Dog

Story
My name is Sparkle. It's a suitable name for me! I am about 11 months old and 38 lbs. Full grown, I might put on a couple more but I am pretty much filled out. I am a Cattle Dog/Carolina Mix. I could have a little Shepherd down the line or Husky (no l am not a singer!). I am a well-rounded, active and incredibly affectionate girl. My favorite place is close to my humans so in that regard, I am a little bit of a velcro dog. I am great with other dogs and enjoy their company. I am respectful of the older dog and playful with the younger dog. I have been around kids of all ages, even those young ones and I feel comfortable around all of them. I am always happy to meet new people and dogs. I enjoy going on walks and always ready to join my humans for a ride in the car. I am able to play independently too when needed. I am still young so some basic rules need to be instilled when I get to my new home. I would love an active family to take me to fun places where I can share my amazing qualities with many friends. A spot on the couch is a requirement too! I am located in NJ. Here is a link to the application: https://www.zivadogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs
