American Pit Bull Terrier

Male, Adult
Chatham, NJ
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
3-year-old pitty mix (exact genetics unknown, he is a rescue). Weighs around 70 lbs. Up to date on all his shots, no health issues. Has 1.5 cups of food twice a day. Eats right away as soon as you put food in his bowl, no matter the time of day. Has lots of energy, very playful and affectionate when he gets to know you. Good at listening to commands like sit, come, and out. Loves running around outside, going on walks, laying in the sun, and running with a bike. Dislikes having his nails clipped, also dislikes vacuums/dust busters (the noise drives him crazy so we keep him in his crate while vacuuming). When outside home, he is fine around strangers. When at home, he barks when he senses someone at the door (this might be something he can be trained out of in a new environment where he has less pent-up energy). Plays well with other dogs in off-leash environments like dog parks. When on walks, he might stare at other dogs but never lashes out.

Story
My name is Chip! I am about 65 lbs and 2.5 years old. I am an active young lad who is friendly and has been waiting for my forever family to scoop me up. I am a Rhodesian Mix and by the look of my stunning eyes, I might be part Husky. I live with an older dog now whom I respect and occasionally will play with (if she lets me!). I also live with a cat - we definitely take naps together. I am very loyal and affectionate with my foster parents and friendly with all other people I have met. In my past home, I lived with school aged kids. They were great too. I am a smart dog and I already know some basic commands like sit, shake, and up. I am crate-trained and housebroken. I also love to play fetch! I could literally do this for hours so exercising me is a breeze if you don't want to leave your fenced in yard for the day. I do enjoy walks! I could use a bit more brushing up on my leash skills but I will walk with you wherever you want to go! Even though I can keep up with activity, I really know how to snuggle and chill out. I'm not a puppy that just goes goes goes. If you are interested in me, please fill out this application! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ZIVA/Dog

Story
My name is Carter. I am about 5 years old and 60 lbs. I am a stunning mix of Malinois and Husky. I am smart, sharp, dignified, well-behaved and utterly loyal. I am very human focused and oriented towards making my humans happy. I love to stay close to my pack (humans and dogs alike). I would love to have company most of the time but can be left alone without an issue. I am housebroken; I do not have much crating experience and would prefer to be loose. I most likely didn't have the most encouraging past. I can get a little timid around raised voices or really loud noises so a home with kids 12+ would probably make me the most comfortable. I am a people pleaser - I want to do the right thing, but I might need a little direction in the process. I do take a moment to warm up to dogs in the home but I certainly do and once we are buddies, I enjoy their company. I would also be perfectly fine as an only dog and actually, my transition might be a tad easier if I was your one and only. I need my daily walks and exercise and would like to be someone's active partner in crime. I am a master at 2 mile runs so if you are a mild runner or jogger, I could be your dog. Story
My name is Kash. I am about 10 months old and just under 50 lbs. I am almost definitely full grown and I look a lot smaller than 50 in person! I am a very interesting mix. The rescue is puzzled but they believe I am definitely Australian Shepherd, some say Border Collie and then I have some albino pigmentation too. That could come from a Bulldog or even a Catahoula. I don't have allergies - that's just my coloring! I am an absolute love and I certainly turn heads. I have been good with every dog I have met. I am housebroken, sleep nicely in my crate at night and crate just fine when my foster mom goes out. I walk really well on the leash. I am curious and stay near my person. I am incredibly loyal and I attach quickly. I am incredible - when I trust you (which will be fast), I want to listen to every word you say. I would make you coffee if I had hands and I am smart enough to do so. Training me is going to be an absolute breeze. I have been around kids over 8 extensively and I like them too. I trust them immediately. I am playful and I need to get some energy out but I am not high energy. Although I could probably keep up with what you bring to me! I have been amazing with everyone while out and about. I went to the brewery and met all kinds of people and meet new dogs on a daily basis. I am working on meeting people inside the home. So far (with minimal data) I seem to be hesitant with grown men entering "my space" but with management and time, I think I can get there. I am so impressive because when I feel uneasy, I look to my trusted humans for direction... this is a great quality. I really just want to please whomever I am with. I am located in NJ. Story
My name is Isabella. I am a dignified and mature lady. I have found myself in need of a home after living in one for most of my life. My family decided they couldn't care for me anymore so I went to a really nice person who agreed to take me in. My family said they would come back for me... but, they didn't. I am yearning for my next and final place. I am about 8.5 years old and 65 lbs. I am a bit overweight; I should be closer to 55 lbs. With a little exercise and a good diet, I should slim down without a problem. I'm a really loving girl who is independent, keep to myself and spend my day lounging and watching. My future life would include nice, loving and dedicated people. I was attacked by a couple of dogs by absolutely no fault of my own. Even so, I can co-exist and live with them but Ziva Dog Rescue would really like to see me be an only so I can get pampered and spoiled. I really deserve it. I can walk on a leash (which would be good for me so I can shed a couple). A fenced in yard would be great but more importantly I need my humans. I am housebroken and I don't need a crate. I love to visit Home Depot and other places where I will get treats and pets and lots of attention. I am a great car rider too! I am also good with cats. If you are looking for a loving and low maintenance companion, I am your girl. Here is a link to the application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ZIVA/Do
