Story
Echo is a 1-year-old purebred Great Pyrenees and he is fully grown weighing about 70 lbs. Echo was rescued along with his 5 siblings from Augusta, Georgia. Upon arrival, the entire litter was covered head to toe in mange and fleas. They had zero human contact prior to Home for Good and needed lots of TLC to come out of their shells. Echo unfortunately also had suffered from double entropion (when the eyelashes inadvertently grow into the eyeball) and has since received corrective surgery. Echo recovered beautifully from his surgery and with the proper nutrition and environment has grown his white luxurious coat back. Echo is now ready to find the forever home he so truly deserves. “Hi everyone, my name is Echo and I would like to tell you a few things about me... I have the cutest face ever but I am really shy when meeting new humans. I would love and need a family that will be patient and understanding with me because I am still learning that people aren’t so bad. I would prefer a home that is quiet and calm, loud noises tend to frighten me simply because I have never experienced such things in my entire life. I am most comfortable when I am in the company of other dogs, especially ones that love to play. At this time, my true personality only shines when I am with my foster siblings and for that reason, I *must* go to a forever home with another dog or multiple present. In my foster home, I have come to love chewing on deer antlers and Kongs filled with peanut butter. What a luxury! I also love to watch my canine friends play with toys, though, I have not quite gotten the hang of how to play with them yet. I walk pretty well on a leash for as nervous as I am, but when I get spooked I try to dart and get away, but, after I am reassured everything is okay I’m ready to continue my stride. Oh, one more thing before I go, I also wouldn’t mind living with a kitty friend as well. I am simply looking for an experienced owner who is looking to add a loyal and handsome four-legged friend to their family. Please consider adopting me. I will be eternally grateful! Echo is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Story
We would love to introduce you to Dusty. Dusty is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix and currently weighs about 46 lbs. Dusty was rescued alongside his siblings from a kill shelter in Swainsboro, GA. While in GA, Dusty and his siblings were never shown a kind or gentle hand and were mislabeled as un-adoptable because they were terrified. Home for Good immediately knew what they needed and rescued them. Dusty is a very handsome boy with a beautiful widow's peak. Dusty is still learning to trust people but is coming around. Dusty really enjoys human affection but he keeps it a secret out of fear. Dusty would love to go home with cats or dogs but prefers no young children. Dusty should go home with another dog since it is other dogs that have really shown him that it is okay to be playful, happy, and show off his personality. Dusty needs a calm, quiet house that will give him the patience he needs to get comfortable. Dusty prefers to be kept company whenever possible. He is working on his crate, leash, and house-breaking skills. He enjoys mealtime and sleeping on a comfy couch or dog bed. Dusty is grateful for being rescued, and he will be grateful to find his perfect patient and loving forever home. Apply to adopt Dusty today! Dusty is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Your luck will turn around once you adopt Lucky! Lucky is a 1 year old Shepherd mix. Lucky was rescued alongside his siblings from a kill shelter in Swainsboro, GA. While in GA, Lucky and his siblings were never shown a kind or gentle hand and were mislabeled as un-adoptable because they were terrified. Home for Good immediately knew what they needed and rescued them. Lucky is still learning to trust people but is coming around. Lucky would do great in a home with cats and needs another confident dog at home. Its the confidence from his canine friends that help Lucky break out of his shell and feel comfortable. Quick movements and loud noises can still startle Lucky so he prefers to go home to a calm house without any children. Lucky enjoys the company of his canine friends and while he does not always like to admit it, he really enjoys the company of people once he gains their trust. Lucky is doing well with his crate, leash, and house training skills. He is food motivated and enjoys sleeping on a comfy dog bed or the couch. Lucky is so thankful for being rescued and will be forever grateful to his forever family. Apply to adopt Lucky today! Story
We would love to introduce you to Kinsley. Kinsley is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix with a brilliant crimson coat and is fully grown at about 47 lbs. Kinsley was living under a house where she was found in Thompson, Georgia with her two puppies. If it were not for Home for Good’s speedy response when we heard where they were living, her boys would not have made it. When our team arrived, it had been raining for multiple days. The house under which where they were living had been completely flooded. Home for Good’s team immediately rushed underneath the house and pulled them out of the flooding waters. Kinsley can be a little timid when first meeting people and other dogs which is understandable because prior to being rescued by HFG, Kinsley spent her whole life as a stray never knowing what it is like to be safe and loved. But this all changed when HFG saw this girl and knew she was begging for a second chance. In the caring hands of HFG, Kinsley was given some time, patience, and a lot of well-deserved attention. She was also placed in a foster home with other submissive dogs to help her along. Kinsley has blossomed and her playful, curious side quickly began to shine through. Now Kinsley will seek out attention from people, eagerly rolling over for belly rubs or snuggling next to them on the couch. Kinsley is a wonderfully behaved dog. She is quiet and calm in the house. Kinsley is also eager to learn and has already mastered housebreaking, sleeping through the night, and crate training. She can entertain herself with toys and enjoys naps in a plush dog bed. And Kinsley also adores going for long leash walks and hikes and rides beautifully in the car. Kinsley is now just waiting for someone to open their home and heart and adopt her. (Kinsley would do best in a home with older children who will be patient as she continues to learn what it is like to be cared for and loved as well as a home with another submissive dog who will continue to “show her the ropes”. ) Kinsley is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Story
On the search for the perfect loyal, loving, adventure partner? Zeke is just your boy! Zeke is a 1 ½-year-old Great Pyrenees/Retriever mix with a beautiful tan coat fully grown weighing 83 pounds. Zeke is a very adventurous, playful guy looking for his forever home! He loves going on runs and playing with all the toys he can find and would love an active family. If he isn't showing off his zoomies, you'll find him sunbathing or snuggling up on the couch. Zeke is working diligently on his leash skills in his foster home and is doing great. He is treat motivated so he will be easy to train. He already knows “sit”. With Zeke not realizing how big he truly is, he would do best with older children or children with previous dog experience. Zeke would thrive in a forever home with a large fenced-in backyard so he could stretch those long athletic legs of his. Zeke does well with other dogs and does fine with cats too. This boy will make the perfect adventure parter. Apply to adopt this handsome boy today! Zeke is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Story
Woof woof! My name is SAM, and I am a 6-month-old Shepherd mix weighing about 40 pounds right now. I love to play and run around with other puppies just like me. I enjoy all kinds of toys, but my favorites are the soft ones. Rolling around in the grass and soaking up the sun is my favorite pastime. I also love to help dig holes for your garden, I just need a gardening hat and I would be labeled a pro! I must admit, I'm quite the attention-seeker, so get ready to give me lots of love and cuddles. I'm not very confident around cats at first, but I'll leave them alone once I get used to them. I loveee to play with all other dogs! I have not met another dog that I do not like, just wait until you see how friendly I am on our walks through the neighborhood. I'm working diligently on my leash and house training in foster care and doing so incredibly well! I love kids who want to play with me all day long. If you think I could be the perfect addition to your family, please apply to adopt me today! I can't wait to see what my forever home and family have in store for me. Hopefully a pup cup or two! You can adopt me by visiting www.homeforgooddogs.org and completing an online adoption application. Thanks for considering me! Sam is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application.
