Story
Get ready to fall in love! Meet Elmer, a stunning 5.5-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix fully grown at about 60 pounds. Elmer was rescued from a high kill shelter in Swainsboro, GA, where he was scheduled to be euthanized purely for space. For the past 6 months, Elmer has been patiently waiting in his foster home to find the forever family he dreams of. Elmer is an easy going guy who is a joy to have around. He loves to go for walks, is a huge fan of fetch, and in general is a big fan of toys. As much as Elmer loves playtime or a good adventure, he’s also just as content to curl up on the couch with his foster family to watch a movie or check some emails. Elmer does best in a calmer environment, one without young children, other dogs or cats, where he can relax, go on plenty of walks, play fetch to his heart’s content, and enjoy being the center of attention. Elmer is fully housebroken and crate trained. He sleeps soundly through the night on his dog bed and is always excited to start each new day with plenty of cuddles and affection! Elmer's foster family says: "He's a happy-go-lucky dog, truly enjoys life to the fullest. His favorite activities are going for walks, playing fetch, and eating. Say the words "walk", "ball" or "eat" and he jumps for joy. He's great on walks and never tires of fetching a ball (or frisbee, or any toy). He equally enjoys his downtime and loves to cuddle on the couch with his family. He's very affectionate and not shy about asking for attention." All Elmer needs now is a forever home to call his own! Apply to adopt him today at www.homeforgooddogs.org! Elmer is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Story
Meet Knox, the 6-month-old Shepherd mix who is always so smiley and adorable. He was rescued from Swainsboro, GA, and is so grateful for a new chance at a loving, happy life. Knox is currently 30 pounds with plenty of growing to do. Knox is going to be a big boy once fully grown! His cute tan and fawn fur with black markings and honey-colored eyes are so precious, especially when he smiles and lets his cute pink tongue out! Knox is a very excitable little boy who is so sweet and happy at all times. He loves to play in the yard and explore, and he often gets full-body wiggles when he’s really happy (which is pretty much all the time). He is learning to walk on a leash and loves his daily walks around town, through the neighborhood and at the park. He will definitely make new friends anywhere he goes! Knox would do great in a home with other dogs who love to play, as well as kids and cats. A yard would be great since he learned to shake the bells on his foster moms back door when he as to take care of his business! He is also doing so incredibly well with housebreaking. He sleeps through the night in his crate too! He is the happiest and smartest boy and would love a chance to show your family all the love and joy he has to offer. Apply to adopt this beautiful boy today: www.homeforgooddogs.org! ❤️🐾 Knox is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. Story
We are counting the days until we can give a forever home to sweet Sage! Meet Sage, a beautiful Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix puppy who was rescued with several of her siblings from a kill shelter in Swainsboro, Georgia. Sage is 4 months old and weighs 16 pounds with a bit of growing to do. Her silky brown coat and oversized ears pair perfectly with her bright hazel eyes. Though her short life has been a bit scary for her, she is learning to love and trust now that she is safe. Sage loves to play and romp around with her siblings and other doggy friends. They help her feel more confident and happier, and she would love a home where she has some dog, cat, or kid siblings with whom to spend her time. Sage must have another confident canine at home, as she is still a shy girl who's personality shines with other canines around. Sage has been through a lot, and she is ready to embrace the goodness and joy that are out there waiting for her. She dreams of the days she will spend with her new family, and she can’t wait to meet you. In this chapter book, it’s time to turn the page and open your heart and home to Sage!
