Story
Hi! My name is Baci and I’m an 8-year-old, 11-pound lovable Chihuahua looking for my forever home. I’m affectionate, loyal, and cuddly — I love sleeping tucked in bed, following my people around, and getting lots of lap time. I enjoy grazing and exploring outside, running in the backyard, and chewing on antlers and bones (which I tolerate well even with my IBS). I’m protective and make a great little watchdog, barking at the doorbell or when someone leaves. I have IBS and require a special prescription diet with consistent meals. I can be anxious when first meeting new people and may bark until I warm up, but then I’m a total lovebug. I do not do well with children. I have nipped at toddlers. so I need a home with experienced dog owners and no kids. If you’re a patient adult or couple who has had small dogs before and can give me the calm, attentive life I deserve, I will reward you with endless snuggles and devotion. Ready to be your spoiled princess!

Story
Dakota is a loyal companion, has a sweet disposition, and is very much a go-with-the-flow type. She can be suspicious of new people, but once you are in, it's for life. Dakota's energy matches her environment. When outside, she enjoys chasing familiar dogs, playing frisbee, and exploring. When inside, she is happy to cozy up on her bed and sleep the day away. Our Jersey City apartment has a small backyard where she is able to play, but she loves to go for a walk around the block. She is comfortable alone for long periods of time (6-8 hours), which is nice for working people. She wouldn't do well in a home with young children or a cat. She would do well with another dog, but does not require one. She is potty trained, crate trained, and knows a handful of functional commands. Dakota has no major medical issues and is prone to 1-2 UTIs per year.Due to family circumstance we are no long able to care for Dakota after 9 magical years, and hopeful to find the right family for her.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MONROE and her 6 siblings were saved from a large hoarding case in Northern Texas (April 2026) where the American Humane were involved due to the scale of abuse and neglect. After getting vetted and healthy they arrived safely to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine on 28 May 2026. We welcome adopters from across the East Coast and Canada — many of our families travel to meet and take home their new best friend! Health & Background Estimated date of birth: 2 February 2026 ✅ Spayed ✅ Rabies and core vaccines up to date ✅ Monthly preventatives ✅ Microchipped with FiNano - registered with Free Pet Chip Registry. ⚖️ Weight approx 20 pounds at end of May MONROE is a sweet puppy, very goofy as to be expected for her age, lots of fun and very affectionate. She does walk on the leash and rides good in the car. I cannot say she is house-trained as she has access to outside pretty much all day and does go outside, but she won't know to let you know she needs to go out - so you must be prepared to help her learn. We are looking for an active family who understands the need of mental stimulation as well as the physical exercise for this intelligent active girl Our adoption fee's are $550 per dog/pup or $1,000 for two. Adoption Details Location: Dover-Foxcroft, Maine Families must complete and submit an adoption questionnaire. Once approved, you’ll be invited to schedule an appointment to meet and hopefully go home together. ⏱️ Applications are generally processed within 24-48 hours Click here for our Application Request Form - to Adopt or Foster!   Want to See More of Pictures? Story
Archie is a loving 6 year old Cavapoo we brought home from a pet store in Brooklyn in March 2020 that was shutting down because of Covid. Archie is a sensitive and smart boy. He was an only “child” until our daughter was born last February. As baby reaches toddlerhood Archie has become extremely nervous and anxious with her sudden movements. We have been struggling to keep them apart because we live in an apartment and our daughter is so mobile now. He has never bit her but he has done some warning snaps and we are trying to get ahead of the problem. We have spent the last year trying to keep Archie happy but we feel he could live a better life in a home without children that also has a nice backyard and maybe even another dog to keep him company. We are not doing this lightly and only want very loving & compassionate owners for our sweet boy.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. BEAU and his 5 siblings were born after their mum, was saved from a large hoarding case in Northern Texas (April 2026) where the American Humane were involved due to the scale of abuse and neglect. "Sweetie" their mum was heavily pregnant and had a rotted, infected foot/leg that caused her leg to need amputation. Luckily she was saved and was able to give birth to 6 healthy pups in the safety of the local animal control department and their foster team.  After getting vetted and old enough to travel (8 wks) they arrived safely at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine on 28 May 2026. We had planned to take their mum, Sweetie along with the pups, but we are happy to share that she was a Foster-Fail down in Texas. We welcome adopters from across the East Coast and Canada — many of our families travel to meet and take home their new best friend! Health & Background I was informed by the ladies on transport that they were told that BEAU was deaf. This does appear to be the case and so we are looking for experienced families with another dog to be his hearing companion. Estimated date of birth: 31 March 2026 ✅ Neutered ✅ Core vaccines up to date - too young for Rabies ✅ Monthly preventatives ✅ Microchipped with 24PetWatch - registered with Free Pet Chip Registry. ⚖️ Weight approx. 10 pounds at end of May There is no doubt that BEAU is the cutest, most adorable pup ever. He is fun, goofy, loving, affectionate, smart and very stubborn lol. Of course the fact he is deaf makes him all the more cuter but this does mean he needs a family that has what he needs and the understanding of his needs. Although animals thrive with disabilities and Beau is doing fantastic here with the other pups and the senior dogs, he does miss out on very important cues from the other dogs - that being verbal communication - those low growls from the bigger dogs telling him to back off, other communications he misses, he has to be watching the dogs body language for his communication with them and well lets face it he is a puppy and is interested in everything and anything everywhere. We feel it is important that Beau be adopted with another puppy or to a family that has a dog of up to 1-2 years old at the most. The reason for this is so that they can form a bond, and Beau will follow the cues from the other dog, if Beau is not watching you he will almost definitely follow the other dog if you call them inside from playing in the yard - this is important for safety issues too. Sign language is of course a tool to train him, but sign language is only good when he is looking at you. BEAU needs a family that is active and understands his intelligence and be sure he gets his physical and mental needs met along with that ever so important socialization and exposure to different environments. Our adoption fee's are $550 per dog/pup or $1,000 for two. Story
Storm is a Mini American Shepherd (similar to an Aussie). An incredibly sweet, friendly, and happy dog who loves people, children, and other dogs. She has a playful personality and a gentle temperamentStorm has had consistent behavioral training and is very well-mannered. She does not bark excessively, does not bite, does not destroy furniture, and has no separation anxiety. She is calm in the home but enjoys regular activity and playtime.Currently on a routine of 3–4 walks per day (about 30 minutes each). She would thrive in a home with access to a yard or open space, or with an owner who can provide regular outdoor activity. This is a very difficult decision, but due to my work schedule, I can no longer give her the time and freedom she deserves. I am not in a rush to rehome her and will be selective to ensure she goes to the right home.I will include everything of hers, Crate, bed, food, toys etcAdoption fee is negotiable
