Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Story
Crazy crazy little dog Axel is! Very playful but very fussy about which dogs he likes so will would prefer him to be an only child. Axel is an owner surrender. His owner was being evicted and was about to become homeless and wanted something better for her dog so she surrendered him to the rescue. He does a funny little growl when we pick him up and he's always ready to play with his humans! Axel is 3 years young, neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, house broken and crate trained. His coat is very high maintenance so please research the breed before you consider adopting him! Could you be the one to give him his forever home? Story
Milly is a wild and crazy chick! Found as a stray, she was brought to the rescue where she has been thriving. She absolutely loves to play with all the dogs and cats so if you have another playful dog, that would be awesome. She is very high energy and a nice size fenced yard is our preference for her. She is approximately 15 months so still a pup really. She is crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, heart worm negative, microchipped and pee pad trained. What more could you ask for? Ready for immediate transport PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $700

Story
River has quite a story. His transformation was just incredible and his story is a miracle. A dear friend of the rescue was planning a kayak trip down the river on a lazy hot Saturday afternoon. When she arrived at the river bank she spotted this dog who was literally a walking skeleton and has lots of very serious wounds all over his body. There were at least 30 people at the river bank and they had all just ignored him. He smelled like death and had she not scooped him up and brought him to the rescue, I'm quite sure he wouldn't have survived more than a couple of days. We do have lots of pictures and videos from that day but we will not post them here. We were afraid that he had been shot as he had several holes in his neck so we rushed him the the vet ER. They x-rayed him and saw no evidence of bullets in him but suspected that the wounds were through and through bullet wounds. We brought him home and carefully fed him lots of small meals throughout the day and night until he was strong enough to handle 3 good sized meals a day. Miraculously, he was heart worm negative and just had a few intestinal worms that we immediately got rid of. He is now very healthy, happy and ready for his forever home. We figured he was still a puppy when we got him and the vet confirmed it. He's about 13 months now and ready for transport! Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and crate trained. VERY puppyish and definitely needs some formal training! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL OT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $800

Story
Mojo was found as a stray and we made every effort to find his owners but to no avail. He is an Aussie mix and of course with the breed comes high activity. I will say that he loves his down time though! He is NOT an apartment dog. He needs a good sized fenced yard. He is not great in a crowd of dogs but will do well with a sister or brother to play with. He hasn't been tested with cats so we don't know about that. The vet believes his age to be about 6 years. He's neutered, vaccinated, crate trained and heart worm negative. He is more than ready for his forever home! ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!
