Story
My name is Newton! I am a really really handsome boy. I am 2 years old and honestly, I need someone to take a chance on me. I am a mix of hound, maybe some mountain dog and venturing to say some Aussie. I am longing for a chance to sit on the couch with my humans and get lots of love and playtime. I am a nice boy! I am good with other dogs (we are unsure of cats and because I probably have some herding breed in me, we should stay away from the felines for now). I am playful, I love to walk and have fun outdoor adventures. This is what would work for me in a new home. A fenced in yard would be perfect for me and a single family home would be ideal. My family/person needs to be relatively active - a person that will put a little time into some basic training, take me for walks or hikes or maybe even a mild jog sometimes. Did I tell you I won a race with my caretaker! That's me in the picture at the race! I have not been around young kids so ASCZ is recommending kids 10+. I have always welcomed new faces and may jump with excitement. I will need some housebreaking work when I go into my new home. I am 2 years old so it shouldn't take me long and I am SMART. I am kind of like a big kid who wants to play and have a lot of fun. If you are interested in giving me a chance in a real home setting, please apply here! ASCZ will be very excited to talk to you! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
Princess here! I am about 2 years old and 50ish lbs. I am a Terrier/Plott Hound mix but don't worry - I am not vocal like you would imagine a hound is. I am great with other dogs, I play appropriately and I also hop! ha! I am housebroken and can be crated as needed when you leave. I chew appropriate things - toys! I loves kids too. I probably should not be around cats... they might be just a little too enticing for her! I would thrive with a family with a fenced in yard but I would also love to go on leash adventures. A doggy playmate would be cool too but not required. Everyday is my best day. I am just a happy and grateful girl! Story
My name is Maddox! I am a cute chunk of a boy. I am about 50 lbs and honestly, ASCZ thinks I am pretty well filled out now; I could be 45 at my optimum. I am a low rider. Three words describe me: happy, goofy and a total ham (okay maybe that's four). I am kind of low to the ground and my foster mom calls me a chunk. We think I am about 18 months. I love to play with other dogs and get really excited for human affection. My brother (or we think he is!), Lennox is a little more jumpy than I am and he is in a wonderful foster home in CT! I am a little bit more reserved and would let him go first when we were together. When I go into my new home, I will need some training and probably a lesson in some house manners. I might need a little brushing up on my housebreaking. We think a fenced in yard would be great but leash walking will also be important to me. Kids 12+ might be best as we aren’t sure if I have been around younger kids. We genuinely think I am going to be happy around most humans who are respectful and loving and with a little patience, I will integrate into the good life. I am a chunky monkey and have quite a smile. Here is a link to the application if you are interested in adopting or fostering me! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
My name is Blondie! I am adorable lab puppy - almost 4 months old. I am about 30 lbs. My mom is a beautiful white shepherd/lab mix but my dad must have been mostly lab by the looks of me and my sister, Annie! My brother Grady Sam and my sister Lizzie were just adopted and we are in the next "round" looking for our homes! I am smart, affectionate and well... I am a puppy so please expect some housebreaking, a little crate training and expect me to perhaps want to chew on your shoes! I have been well socialized with other dogs. I have seen cats in passing and I am just curious. I am quite young to show any aggression right now towards really anything. I have not been around young children but I am sure I would love them with the right parental figures to teach me manners! I will be a pretty big girl we think, perhaps 60 to 65 lbs. I am a little darker in color than my sister Annie. I also have an ear that tends to stand up sometimes! ha! I am a little more outgoing than my sister Annie too. She is just a bit more reserved. I am the leader of the two of us! Please submit an application for me, I am even more stunning than my pictures show! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
My name is Shirley! I am 30 lbs and 4 months old. My sister is Laverne and she will also be available! I am super friendly, smart, crate-trained and cuddly. I'm working on my housebreaking. I am great with other dogs and love to play with my canine foster siblings. I am a busy body! I am active and fun and would love adventures. My sister does too but I am the first one to check things out. I love to run after balls and we would suspect I might get really good at fetch. I am practicing my commands. My foster dad was confused in the video but that is me (not Laverne - ha!). We were given away by a family whose dogs had mated. ASCZ was told that one was a Golden and the other was a Malinois Mix. We look a little labby too! We are gorgeous puppies either way! Each of us will make great family dogs. Oh - we also LOVE the bath tub! Kids, families, other dogs - please apply. We aren't totally sure on cats but I don't think we would be mean to anyone! Here is a link to the application: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
My name is Jack. My mom decided to make a bulleted list so she could capture all my fun facts. - I am about 6 months old and 15 lbs. I shouldn't be too big - maybe 20 to 25 at most! - Who knows what I am... but, my NJ foster mom did do a DNA test so the adopter won't have to! I have this cute speckled nose and this curly hair. I don't shed too much (although who knows - I am still young). - I am pad-trained. I will need to work on my outdoor housebreaking with time. - I was found on the Oklahoma dirt roads by a rescuer down south. She took in me, my brother and my dad. They are both safe! - When I got to NJ, I was SCARED. It wasn't long before I was out and about with the three large dogs I live with. 80 lbs, 75 lbs and 60 lbs! I love them all. I want to play with them but they can be grumpy sometimes. - I am SUPER gentle and sweet and I am timid. - In my new home, a doggy friend that I can follow around and take some cues from would surely help me. Don't get me wrong though, I am already showing signs even after 5 days that I am going to be VERY attached to my humans. - I like to be near my foster mom all the time, I follow her everywhere. BUT, I am not at the point where I am jumping in her lap yet. - I live with three kids 8+. I have no issue with anyone but toddlers might scare me :). - I am trying to get used to this thing they call a "crate." I can settle down and sleep through the night. - I am also trying to get used to this thing called a leash. That will take a little time but I love to play and run in the fenced in backyard. And, oh, I love toys - I am so cute... I steal all of them and right now, they are under the coffee table! - When my foster mom picks me up and starts to pet me, I melt in her arms! Summary - I have a lot of growing and learning to do and I am going to be so fun to watch! Here is the link to the application if you would like to learn more about me! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/
