Story
Hello, future fur-parents! Get ready for a dose of charm, a sprinkle of playfulness, and a whole lot of doggy affection with Poppy, the 4-5 year-old pup stealing hearts! If you want a dog who will let you wrap your arms around her and give her hugs, this pup is for you! What makes Poppy stand out? Well, let us tell you! Poppy is the reigning champion of carrying toys around in her mouth, and occasionally hiding them in her crate or giving them a tour of the Great Outdoors (aka her foster family's backyard). Whether it's a game of fetch or a cozy cuddle with her favorite stuffed animal, she's your go-to playmate. Brace yourself for lotttts of affection Poppy knows she's adorable and will shamelessly request for pets and belly rubs whether or not your hands are available. She might be happiest as the only pup in town, with a heart big enough for all the love you can give. Poppy is quite the fashionista, and is currently rocking a unique reverse mohawk, since she's missing some fur on her back. It's growing back, and our vet gave her a clean bill of health the mystery hair loss only adds to her intrigue. Like any proud Aussie, Poppy can be a little vocal, especially while playing or when expressing her opinions. Poppy doesn't bite but can be a bit mouthy when she's in the zone or sharing her thoughts, so we recommend a home without small children for a seamless match. Unlike most Aussies though, Poppy has a pretty moderate energy level and will hang out with you while you watch TV or work from home, but loves if you'd be willing to take her for a short walk first. Poppy is crate-trained and ready to be the queen of her cozy castle when you're away, but she's trustworthy enough to be left out of the crate, as long as you don't leave out food for her to sneak away with. Poppy is fully housetrained and is good on a leash, but may pull a little sometimes when she's excited.Poppy also passed the cat test at the shelter, though her foster family hasn't had any cats for her to charm or check out her behavior with. Poppy can be a bit skeptical when it comes to some new things, so she does well with folks who can be patient and take the time to earn her trust and show her that things aren't so scary. She's a quick learner though and once she knows it's safe, she's a confident pup. When she arrived to her foster home she was very sure that brushes were bad and scary, and with some trust and patience, she's now pretty comfy being brushed. She's still on the fence about baths, car rides, and seeing the vet, but her foster family thinks she'll get more comfy over time. Ready to embark on a journey of love, laughter, and a touch of whimsy with Poppy? This one-of-a-kind furball is waiting for her forever home, and it could be yours! Come meet Poppy, and let the adventures begin! If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application. Meetings will not be scheduled without an application. Story
Are you ready to add a burst of love and joy to your life? Keri is the doggy companion you've been dreaming of! This sweet girl looks like a short and solid mix of bulldog and rat terrier, with a heart as big as her adorable ears. Despite her past experiences, Keri is a sweetheart through and through. In rural Louisiana she survived heartworm, neglect, and being dumped with her babies when she was still a baby herself. But don't let her past define her - she's all about embracing the present and looking forward to a brighter future. At approximately 2 years old, Keri is happy, healthy, and full of energy and enthusiasm, making her the perfect partner for all your adventures, whether it's hiking in the great outdoors or cuddling up for a movie night at home. One of Keri's most endearing qualities is her affectionate nature. She absolutely adores people and thrives on human interaction. With her wagging tail and irresistible (slightly crossed) eyes, Keri has a special talent for melting hearts wherever she goes. She's also incredibly smart and eager to learn, making training a breeze. Shes fully housebroken, with excellent house manners. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up to you, you'll quickly see her playful and affectionate side shine through. Her endearing criss-cross gaze just adds to her charm! Keri has a special affinity for her canine friends and absolutely adores other dogs. Whether it's romping around the yard or snuggling up for a nap, she's happiest when he's surrounded by canine companions. Shes ok with cats and farm animals too, the shelter says she ignores them. Keri would probably do best in a home without very young children, although she was fine interacting with older kids (10 and 12). If you're ready to open your heart and home to this lovable bundle of fur, come meet Keri today. With her contagious zest for life and unwavering loyalty, she's sure to become an irreplaceable member of your family. Adopt Keri, and get ready for a lifetime of tail wags, slobbery kisses, and unforgettable memories! If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application. Meetings will not be scheduled without an application. Please visit our website www.rogersrescues.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
If you hear Golden Doodle and think easy dog,we're here to challenge those assumptions. Meet 20-month old Hank. Hank has issues, but hey, dont we all? Well start with those issues and, after reading all that, youre still reading, boy, have we got a great dog for you! Before you read these, though, please know that Hank is super sweet, cuddly, a great playmate for playful housemates, and did we mention super sweet?? For the family that's willing to look past a few things, he'll be a loving, loyal, cuddly goofball who promises to always be happy to see you and accept you just as you are--just like he needs from you! #1. For starters, Hank has hip dysplasia, which, although it gives him a kind of wonky gait, doesnt seem to hurt him or slow him down. And luckily, there are medications and supplements that really help. #2. Hank has incontinence issues. He signed up for the Enhanced Front End package, but ended up with the Barely Functional back end kit. Were thinking it may be dueto the hipdysplasia and possibly some rear-end nerve damage. With a very strict schedule, his accidents in the house are pretty minimal now, but he does need to wear a diaper at night and needs to go out every few hours--he can't be home alone for a whole workday. The good news is that he loves everyone, so getting a dog walker should be no problem at all! #3. Hank really likes other dogs. He loves to play and has a goofy puppy spirit. But hes not crazy about the chaos that might come with living with lots of other needydogs. One or two dog siblings is enough, thank you very much. But playdates with friends are always a good time! #4. Hank would love to cuddle up to you on the couch and enjoy a good brushing, preferably while you're wearing black clothing, so his blonde fur will really stand out. Hank doesn't call it "shedding." He just thinks that the humans look cold without any fur, and he's got more than enough to share! (Seriously, though, this boy didn't get the "no-shedding" memo that many doodles get!) Still reading? Then you are a wonderful person and just might be worthy of this wonderful dog. Hank is 80 pounds of sweetness, just looking for a soft place to land and someone to love. He loves his toys, chews, and car rides. He walks like a dream on a leash (after the excited first few minutes). He loves cuddles and scratches. You like to hike? So does Hank! You like to settle down on the couch for cuddles? So does Hank! You like to play ball? So does Hank! You like to play chess? So does... well, Hank will make your chess partner feel welcome, he'll cheer you both on, and he'd love to share your snacks! We dont know much about his background, but were pretty sure it wasnt great. However, Hank is thriving in his foster home and hisissues are improving. With the right family thats ready to show him patience, consistency and love, Hank will always be perfect in his family's eyes! We ARE considering out-of-area applications for this special boy, but you will need to travel to southern NJ to meet him and complete an adoption. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application. Meetings will not be scheduled without an application. Story
Meet Mayhem and Chaos (May and Cay)! They're 8-week old puppies looking for forever homes. We think they're beagle mixes and will stay relatively small. This is just a guess, but maybe 25-30 lbs as adults? They're starting to learn housetraining and are engaged in the usual puppy rotation of eat-play-potty-sleep. For the first couple of months, someone will need to be home full time or you'd need to have someone let them out every few hours. Small puppies = small bladders! Cay is the white one with tan markings, and Cay is the tri-colored one. They will be adopted out separately, but would love to go to a home with another friendly pet. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application. Meetings will not be scheduled without an application. Story
Tiki comes to us from the island of Saint Martin, where she was surrendered, along with her brothers and sisters in a bucket! She is what is commonly and affectionately called a Coconut retriever. Which is a nice way of saying a mixed breed. She is about seven months old and will soon be spayed. She’s a friendly girl, active and playful. She would do well with an active family. Another dog would be icing on the cake. Tiki, as with all puppies, would benefit from some positive training. She gets along very well with the two resident dogs. She seems to like children, but until properly trained would be better with older children rather than toddlers. If you’re looking for a fun loving furry family member, tiki may be your girl!

Story
Bubba is a beautiful young lBubba is a beautiful young dog with a beautiful ginger, brown and white coat. He is well-behaved and loving, super smart and highly trainable. He has a very regal appearance, and also a silly puppy side.. Due to his owners death, he and his buddy Billy found themselves in a dangerous kill shelter. They have both been pulled from that shelter and are currently in a foster home.. Foster is a very temporary place, because pets are not allowed in the building. Bubba and Billy are good friends, but they do not have to be adopted together..
