Story
Meet Rooney Age: 3 years Weight: 62 lbs Breed: Mixed Hound Sex: Female (spayed) Rooney is a sweet, sensitive hound girl looking for a calm, predictable home where she can feel safe and loved. She bonds deeply with her person and would make a wonderful companion for someone who works from home or simply enjoys having a loyal dog nearby. She loves sleeping close to her human and has peacefully slept in bed with both her current foster and her former owners. Ideal Home Rooney needs a low-traffic home with no young children. Older, dog-savvy children may be appropriate as long as they understand her boundaries and the home environment remains quiet. She can be nervous around new people—especially men—and will need a patient adopter who can give her time and space to warm up. Slow, gentle introductions work best for her.   She protects her home and people making her a great guard dog. With Guests Rooney is wary of strangers and prefers a calm, structured approach when meeting new people. Her adopter should be prepared to manage her space during visits and help her feel secure. Other Pets Rooney displays resource guarding around food, toys, and treats. For this reason, she will do best as an only dog so she can relax without feeling the need to compete. Outdoor Needs Rooney requires a secure, fenced yard. Her previous owners reported that she loved spending a lot of time outdoors .  She typically does not poop on walks and prefers to use the yard instead. She is housebroken and crate trained. Personality Rooney is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she can be near her person. She is not suited for a busy household, but for someone looking for a devoted companion, she will be a wonderfully attached and loving partner. Story
Meet Phoenix, an adorable Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso male mix.  At 5 years old, Phoenix is being surrendered, through no fault of his own, and is in need of a loving home. He spends much of his time during the day alone, and would absolutely love a home where he can interact with his family, be active, be cuddled, and live his best life. Phoenix is about 13pounds of cuteness, searching for a committed, loving family.  Phoenix sleeps in a crate with the door open. He is pad trained in the home, but will go outside as well. Also, leash and crate trained. He is up to date on vaccines and he is neutered. Pad training is due to Phoenix being alone up to 13 hours per day. At this time, Phoenix has not had interaction with other dogs, but current owner reports that he was left at doggy daycare and he got along with other dogs well.  Phoenix would thrive in a home that’s ready to give lots of love and guidance as he continues to learn to interact with people and other animals, all while providing a family with love. Phoenix would thrive best in a quieter forever home where he can continue to show his wonderful personality. Since there is no history of Phoenix with small children, we recommend a home without children.  Adopt Phoenix and make your heart and home whole.  Apply at www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application on a laptop or computer.  If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Ellie  (Bonded with Freddie) Ellie is an 11-year-old sweetheart weighing just 15–17 pounds, and she’s bonded with her best friend Freddie. These two share a special connection and are looking for a loving home where they can stay together. Ellie is house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to the right family. She’s partially leash trained and would benefit from a little patience and gentle guidance on walks. She does well with children and other dogs, but she would do best in a home without cats. At her age, Ellie is all about the simple joys — cozy beds, soft blankets, and being close to the people she loves. She still has so much love to give and is hoping to spend her golden years safe, comfortable, and cherished. If you’re ready to open your heart to Ellie and Freddie, they’re ready to fill your home with double the love.  To adopt this amazing pair, go to www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application on a laptop or computerIf you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Posey and Cash Two Cocker Spaniels, Double the Love ✨ Coming into our care on 2/22, Posey and Cash are two AKC-registered Cocker Spaniels who are as sweet as they are charming—and they’re ready to steal hearts. Posey is a three-year-old brown and white beauty weighing just 17 pounds. Petite, playful, and full of affection, she’s the perfect mix of fun and cuddle-time. Posey is fully house trained and kennel trained, and she’s been obsessed with fetch since she was six months old—it’s her absolute favorite thing in the world. She can be a little vocal when first meeting new people, making sure to announce her presence, but once she gets a good sniff, her walls come down fast. After that, she’s all love—belly rubs, cuddles, and sticking close to her people. Posey is wonderful with children, gentle with other animals, spayed, well-socialized, and has no aggressive tendencies whatsoever. Cash, a two-year-old sable Cocker Spaniel weighing 24 pounds, is a true gentleman with a playful streak. He’s incredibly smart, fully house trained and kennel trained, and thrives on routine. His favorite moment of the day? First thing in the morning—when he bursts outside with pure joy and zoomies like life couldn’t be better. Cash loves to play fetch and is athletic, happy, and eager to engage. Like Posey, he may greet strangers with a little yap at first, but once he’s had a moment to check things out, he turns into a total lovebug. He adores attention, cuddling, and being close to his humans. Cash is neutered, fantastic with kids, gentle with other animals, and has a beautifully balanced temperament. Together, Posey and Cash are playful, affectionate, a little chatty, and completely irresistible. They would thrive in  loving home, without other dogs, where they can get attention, playtime, and the companionship they crave. Story
Hi there! My name is Stan, and I’m a sweet Black Lab mix weighing in at 55 lbs with the silly Lab energy and stance. I’ve been hanging out at the shelter in Mississippi for the past three years until I was brought up north, now waiting for my forever home. But don’t let that fool you—I’ve got the warmest, golden brown eyes and a heart full of kindness. I’d been sharing a kennel with my best bud, Happy, and we’ve become quite the duo but Happy was recently adopted and I’m here alone.  The folks at the shelter and previous fosters say I’m a very good boy, and I absolutely LOVE people. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to get some special attention when someone takes me out to play. I’m affectionate and ready to shower you with love.  I’ve got great energy and am always up for some fun, but a lower stimulation home would be best. I can be a little jumpy and exuberant (more so than Happy for sure) as we've never really lived in a home before. Some training might do me some good, along with a patient family willing to give me a chance in a home and a real life filled with love. A quiet home with older kids would probably be best, as I'm big and strong, not always knowing my own strength. I absolutely LOVE all toys.  My happy place is with a chew toy which will keep me busy for a long time! If you’re looking for a loyal gentle spirit, I am your guys Ready to add some love to your life?
