Story
Rip is a darling 3 year old, 58 pound Pit mix. Like his namesake, this boy is handsome and loyal! Rip has not had an easy life thus far - he was initially rescued as part of cruelty case and was starved and then his adopter passed away suddenly. He now finds himself in need of a new home and is understandably confused by it all. Despite that, he could not be sweeter! He is food motivated and so gentle when taking treats. Rip walks well on the leash, is housetrained, and loves riding in the car. With the cutest underbite and ears, he will instantly melt your heart! This boy is a volunteer favorite and is looking to melt the hearts of his new family with his charm! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Hey there humans, I’m Remus — a 6-year-old, 12-pound Brussels Griffon/Chihuahua mix with a curious heart and a scruffy little face that wins everyone over. Life threw me a curveball when my people were evicted from their trailer and couldn’t take me with them, but I’m staying positive and ready to start over. I’m friendly and love exploring. I’m house-trained on pads and get along really well with other dogs. I’m also perfectly content being your sidekick. I’m ready for a family who’ll give me the love and stability I deserve — someone who’ll see past my rough start and recognize how much joy I bring. If you’re looking for a loyal, friendly little guy to brighten your home, I think we’d make a great match. Hopefully you feel the same! Story
Hey, I’m Leah — a 2-year-old, 15-pound Spaniel/Doxie mix with beautiful black and white markings and a very soft, very loving heart. I came from a property with lots of other dogs, so I’m used to having canine company and I enjoy it. Even though my start in life was a little chaotic, I’ve turned out to be a total sweetie pie who just wants to be close to my people. I’m super affectionate and love being doted on — pets, cuddles, and kind words are my favorite things. I recently discovered toys and it turns out I like them a lot, especially when I can play near you and then curl up for a nap afterward. I’m happiest when I feel safe and included in your day. I’m also best friends with Livie, who is looking for her forever home too. We help each other feel brave and loved. I’d thrive in a home that wants a loving companion to spoil and cherish. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate little dog who will bond closely with you, I’d love the chance to be your gal! Story
Hi, I’m Zaza! I’m a 6–7-year-old Havanese weighing in at 16 pounds of sweetness and spunk. I was finally surrendered from a puppy mill where I didn’t get the care or love I needed, but I’ve been learning what a good life can feel like in my foster home. I might not look like a full Havanese right now—some of my hair is still growing back from the neglect—but my coat is making a comeback, and so is my sparkle. At first, I can be a little shy around new people or dogs, but once I feel safe, my silly side comes out! I love zooming around the yard, chasing toys, and curling up in my big, fluffy bed like a little queen. I’ve made a ton of progress building confidence, and every day I surprise my foster family with my playful energy and goofy personality. I do well with other dogs once I get to know them, and I’ve even gained courage from my foster sibling. I would be happiest in a forever home with a furry sibling to keep me company. I’m looking for a home where I can feel safe, loved and surrounded by other dogs who can help me feel even more at ease. If you have a soft spot for sweet, gentle pups who just need a little time to blossom, I just might be the perfect match for you. Story
Charlie is a handsome 55 pound, 8 month old Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix who is looking for a forever home. This gorgeous boy truly loves his people, including children, and thoroughly enjoys playing with his toys. He would make a fantastic addition to a loving home. Charlie is not only charming but also very sweet! He is housetrained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. While he is an absolute sweetheart with people he knows, he can be a bit wary of strangers initially. Once he gets to know someone, his affectionate nature truly shines through. Charlie also enjoys being outside and would thrive in a home located in a quieter neighborhood where he can comfortably enjoy his outdoor time. Story
Hello, I’m Coco! I’m a 1-year-old Aussie/Corgi mix, and at just 20 pounds, I’m the perfect size to snuggle right into your life. People always say I’m the happiest little bundle, and it’s true—I can’t help but smile, especially when I’m around friends. My bright blue eyes are my favorite way of saying “hello,” and I’m always ready to share love with anyone who crosses my path. I get along wonderfully with dogs and kids, which makes me a great fit for a lively home. I love running around in the backyard, riding along in the car, and exploring the world on long walks. Adventure and play keep me joyful, but I’m just as content curling up nearby while you relax. Whether it’s sunshine or fresh grass, I find happiness in the simple things and love sharing that joy with the people around me. I’ve learned how to be calm and patient when it’s time to rest, so you can count on me to be a good housemate. More than anything, I’m searching for someone I can call my family. If you’re looking for a soulmate who will greet every day with excitement and every moment with love, I’m right here waiting for you.
