Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 121 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He also has an obsession with deer! For that reason, a privacy fence would be ideal if you have deer around your home. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides". Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! If you would like to be Charlie’s forever family, please email dogs4mylife@ gmail.com or olmc7@ hotmail.com. If you are inquiring from a Gmail address, It is best to use our Gmail address, or you might have to look for us in your spam.

Story
Meet Susye — A Young Girl Ready for a Home of Her Own Sometimes the best dogs have the hardest beginnings. Susye’s second chance began when a Nashville Fire Department EMT realized that the homeless woman caring for her would not be leaving the hospital. He could not bear the thought of this young dog being left with nowhere to go, so he brought Susye home and made sure she was safe. For the past three months, Susye has been living with her firefighter foster dad and his four dogs. She has been a happy, peaceful addition to the family and has settled into home life beautifully. She is crate trained when needed, loves using the dog door, and enjoys spending time in the fenced backyard. Now fully vetted and spayed, Susye is turning 8 months old this month and is ready for a forever home with the stability she deserves. She weighs 43 pounds. We believe Susye may be a Feist, Rat Terrier, or Jack Russell Terrier mix, possibly with some herding breed influence. She is bright, active, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever is happening. Like many young herding and terrier mixes, she will do best with regular exercise, engagement, and continued training. Although Susye adores her foster dog siblings, they are all older. Her foster dad cannot help but think she would especially love a home with a younger, playful dog companion who can match her energy and enjoy growing up alongside her. Her firefighter foster dad also works 12-hour shifts, and caring for five dogs has become more than he can reasonably maintain long-term. Susye is loved and safe, but this was always meant to be her stepping stone—not her final destination. She would thrive with a family that can give her companionship, consistency, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to use her smart young mind. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, and another playful dog would be a big bonus. Susye has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Now she is ready for the part of her story where she belongs somewhere for good. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 14, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
Just one look at Lil Daddy's face and you'll understand why everyone falls in love with him.  That happy smile that invites to stop and play with him for a while and those adorable long floppy hound dog ears that beg for you to pet them and run them through your fingers.  He looks at you for love with some very sweet eyes and a face that makes a marks on your heart.  That is Lil Daddy.  A puppy that is irresistible and who was born around March 9th and to a litter of 9 beautiful pups to a gentle Redbone Coonhound mix mom. Like his brothers and sisters, he didn't have the easiest start in life and arrived in rescue a little underweight. Since coming to Critter Cavalry Rescue on June 29, he's been getting plenty of nutritious food, lots of love, and every chance to grow into the healthy, happy puppy he was always meant to be. Today, Lil Daddy weighs 16 pounds (7/11} and is expected to mature into a handsome 45–50-pound companion. While his mom is a Redbone mix, we're convinced there's another wonderful breed or two in his family tree. Maybe Lab...maybe Aussie...or perhaps even a little Cocker Spaniel, judging by those impossibly cute ears! Whatever his mix may be, one thing is certain—he's absolutely perfect just the way he is. A loving 'cuddle bug' is what his foster mom has labeled him.   Lil Daddy is everything you hope for in a puppy. Curious. Joyful. Smart. Affectionate. He's already using pee pads like a champ when he can't make it outside, and he's beginning to learn about crates, leashes, and all the exciting adventures that come with growing up.   This little guy wakes up every day ready to discover the world. Whether he's exploring the backyard, playing with other dogs, making friends with cats, or greeting complete strangers with a wagging tail, Lil Daddy approaches life with confidence and happiness. He truly believes everyone is a friend he just hasn't met yet.   Because he's an active, intelligent puppy, Lil Daddy will thrive with a family that enjoys spending time outdoors. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, or an active family committed to daily walks, trips to the dog park, and plenty of playtime and training. He's eager to learn and will blossom with the guidance, consistency, and love that every puppy deserves.   Lil Daddy isn't just looking for a home. He's looking for his people—the family who will celebrate his silly puppy moments, teach him new things, laugh at his antics, and love him through every stage of life. In return, he'll fill your days with laughter, companionship, and unconditional love for years to come.   If your heart skipped a beat when you saw Lil Daddy, it may be because he's been waiting for someone just like you.   To learn more about adopting Andy, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Story
Meet Fern! Some dogs are simply waiting for a family. Fern is waiting for her people—the ones she'll happily follow through every adventure life has to offer.Fern is an 8-month-old Border Collie mix, born around the middle of November 2025, and currently weighs 29 pounds. She'll likely mature to around 40 pounds—the perfect size for hiking trails, road trips, neighborhood walks, and curling up at your feet after a day well spent.Fern and her identical sister were adopted together as tiny 6-week-old puppies. Unfortunately, their family realized they couldn't give the girls the time, attention, and exercise they deserve. Now Fern is searching for the forever home she's always deserved. This beautiful black-and-white girl has a sweet, easygoing personality and is happiest when she's included in whatever her people are doing. She loves children, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is always ready for a new adventure. She hasn't met cats yet, though she and her sister have been known to chase chickens—something that may disappear once she's no longer teaming up with her mischievous sibling!Like many Border Collie mixes, Fern is happiest when both her body and her mind are engaged. She'll thrive with daily walks, backyard games, hiking adventures, or even dog sports like agility, flyball, or dock diving. She doesn't need a perfect life—just one where she's loved, included, and given opportunities to learn and explore.Imagine having a loyal companion who's waiting by the door when it's time for a walk, riding shotgun on weekend adventures, making your kids laugh in the backyard, and greeting you with a wagging tail after every workday. That's the life Fern is hoping for—and the life she's ready to give back with endless love and devotion. If you're looking for a best friend to share life's adventures, Fern may be the missing piece you've been searching for.To learn more or request an adoption application, email ccrtennessee@gmail.com and be sure to include your city and state. Story
Olive is one of those dogs you don’t forget once you meet her. She’s a sweet Hound mix, approximately 6–8 years old and around 25 pounds — the perfect small-to-medium companion with a calm, easy presence and just enough spark to keep life interesting.  Her story started in an unexpected way — imagine driving down a rural country road when two “walking Halloween decorations” emerge from the brush. That was Olive and Benjamin. Today, Olive has left uncertainty behind her and is learning what it feels like to feel safe, loved, and confident. She used to be shy and unsure, but daily walks have helped her blossom. She is now gaining confidence step by step, and continued walks will be an important part of keeping her on that positive path forward.  Olive is intelligent, gentle, and eager to please. She is crate trained and working hard on her house manners. She walks well on a harness and enjoys being out and about, though her hound nose can still get very excited when squirrels appear — so a secure leash is a must.  Important note: Olive has a strong prey drive and must go to a cat-free home. She is not a high-maintenance dog — instead, she’s the kind of companion who fits beautifully into a quieter lifestyle. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but she can also do just fine with regular leash walks and supervision. At the end of the day, Olive is a couch companion at heart. She’s happiest simply being near her person, sharing space, and enjoying a calm, steady home life. She would be a wonderful match for a retiree, empty nester, or anyone looking for a loyal, low-drama companion who just wants to be part of your world.  If Olive feels like the missing piece in your home, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com July 14, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
Meet Tubbs! ❤️Tubbs is a 3–4-month-old Lab mix (17 lbs) with a goofy personality, a gentle heart, and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. He's the kind of puppy who makes friends wherever he goes and believes every person he meets is a potential best friend. His life didn't start out easy. Tubbs and his brother were found abandoned on the side of the road and  quickly won the hearts of his foster family.  Now Tubbs is ready to find the forever home he's been waiting for. This handsome puppy is all about enjoying life. He loves toys, zooming around the yard, wrestling with his brother, exploring new places, and handing out endless puppy kisses (complete with that famous puppy breath!). He's great in the car, enjoys meeting new people, and is always happy to be included in whatever is going on.If your home has kids, Tubbs will probably think he hit the jackpot. He absolutely loves following his foster's 4-year-old daughter around and happily joins in whenever the neighborhood kids stop by to play. He's also doing well with his foster family's dogs. Bigger dogs can make him a little unsure at first, but with a little time, his confidence shines through. He hasn't met any cats yet, but his friendly, easygoing nature suggests he could do well with a slow introduction.Tubbs is already showing what a smart little guy he is. He sleeps quietly in his playpen, settles down nicely for naps, is learning to walk on a leash, and has already started working on commands like sit, down, stay, and come. Like any young puppy, he'll continue to blossom with consistency, patience, and lots of positive reinforcement. His perfect family is one that will include him in everyday life—morning walks, weekend adventures, backyard play sessions, and evenings curled up together after a day of fun. He's looking for a family that will help him grow into the amazing dog he's already showing he can be.Tubbs has every reason not to trust the world, but instead, he greets it with curiosity, joy, and a wagging tail. Now all he needs is someone to give him the happy ending he deserves.   If you are interested, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 14, 2026, 6:55 pm
