Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 121 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He also has an obsession with deer! For that reason, a privacy fence would be ideal if you have deer around your home. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides". Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! If you would like to be Charlie’s forever family, please email dogs4mylife@ gmail.com or olmc7@ hotmail.com. If you are inquiring from a Gmail address, It is best to use our Gmail address, or you might have to look for us in your spam.

Story
When you picture puppies, you imagine round bellies, wagging tails, and carefree playtime. That’s exactly who our 11 beautiful Hound/Lab mix puppies are — happy, sweet, and full of life.   The litter is ready for moments of family bonding and snuggles and here is our beautiful girl puppy called Harper just ready to bring a sense of sweetness and fun into your life.  She is a golden girl with a black muzzle and a promise  of lazy love and zoomie moments of fun. Born on May 22nd to a Redbone Coonhound momma dog, these puppies were given all the food and attention they needed from their dog mom and their human mom.  Now, we have broken up the litter in to pairs and threesomes and we are focusing on personally forming their habits, manners and socializing them with more one on one attention and love.  We anticipate Harper to be a 45-50 pound girl who will favor the Lab influence we think is in her background DNA. This little girl is a snuggler and a very eager to please puppy. All her siblings have the same wonderful demeanor of gentleness and loving pups.  A testimony to their mom and the fosters who are raising. them. They are all true stands out in their nature and their intelligence.  Their mama is a typical Redbone Hound of reddish color and they think dad was a neighbor's no one knows who the dad is. Her ears are soft ou have to touch them and feel how silky they are.  Her face is gentle and softened by eyes that speak to you and just draw you in when she looks up at you for attention, love and a soft lap for him to sit upon.  She craves attention and one on one time with a person after being just part of a large litter that wore down the foster family who kept them and works. These puppies are growing fast and will likely mature to45- 50 pounds. Harper is a treasure in a sweet Golden black faced puppy body.  She can be your new forever companion in life if you email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   She is currently in Nashville, TN in a foster home and ready for a new home on 8/14   Do not hesitate. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 18, 2026, 1:14 pm

Story
Meet Raymond and we all know that EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND!❤️ Some dogs leave an impression because of how they look. Raymond will steal your heart because of who he is.  This 3 month old puppster was born around the middle of May and we can only guess what breed is the dominant lead in his DNA.  Due to his energy and his handsome good looks and build, we think Australian Shepherd is the dominant breed. Brought in to a small town rural Tennessee shelter recently with his brother, the shelter director contacted Critter Cavalry Rescue and asked if we could help take these two pups.  He has already experienced more change than most puppies should and his foster mom says she will hang in there with teaching him all the things he needs to be a good dog before he goes to a perfect family that matches his intelligence and energy. Raymond is full of inquisitive mischief and shenanigans.  Never a dull moment around this boy who is very active and ready to party most of the day.  He does nap, and he does cuddle after a good hour of playing. The moment you meet Raymond, it's impossible not to notice his incredible reddish coat with white accents.  Very handsome and striking markings. He's the kind of dog people stop to admire. But once you spend a few minutes with him, it's his fun nature and ready to go play heart, happy spirit, and eagerness to connect with people that become even more unforgettable. Since coming into foster care, he has embraced every new experience with enthusiasm. He's been neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped, and he's soaking up the joy of simply getting to be a young dog. He absolutely loves romping through the yard with his brother and foster dog friends, chasing, wrestling, and playing until everyone is worn out. Then, just as happily, he'll curl up beside you on the couch, content to rest his head against you and enjoy the quiet moments. Raymond is everything people love about Australian Shepherds. He's incredibly intelligent, eager to please, curious about the world, and always ready for the next adventure. He'll thrive with a fenced yard and someone who enjoys training, exploring, hiking, or simply making their dog part of everyday life. He isn't looking to spend his days watching the world from a backyard only —he wants to experience life with his family and be included in it. The right home for Raymond won't just see a beautiful dog; they'll see the amazing companion he's becoming. They'll understand that with guidance, consistency, and love, this young boy is going to grow into an extraordinary partner for years to come. Raymond has waited long enough for the life he deserves. Now he's waiting for the people who will choose him—not just because he's beautiful, but because they're ready to give him the forever home he's been missing. If your heart says this handsome boy belongs with you, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrennessee@gmail.com. We have a feeling his best chapter is just beginning, and we can't wait to see who gets to write it with him.

Story
Meet our charming Shih Tzu mix boy named  Sir Ziggy — a young Shih Tzu (mostly Shih Tzu) with a wonderfully playful spirit and a personality that is hard not to fall in love with.  At about 12–15 months old and 13 pounds, Ziggy is the perfect combination of small size and big personality. He is full of energy and absolutely loves interacting with his person. Playing, wrestling, being scooped up and flipped upside down, or simply getting some one-on-one attention — Ziggy is happiest when he is included. He has a wonderfully silly side, and when the zoomies begin, watching him race and bounce around is pure entertainment.   Ziggy genuinely enjoys other dogs and is eager to make friends. Sometimes his enthusiasm gets the better of him, and he needs a little help understanding that not every dog is quite as excited about playtime as he is. He responds well to guidance and will benefit from someone who can give him appropriate boundaries while still appreciating his exuberant personality. One of the sweetest things about Ziggy is his outlook on life. My goodness is this boy a happy, resilient little guy who doesn't seem to hold a grudge or get discouraged when another dog isn't interested in playing. He simply moves on and finds something else to enjoy. There is a genuine sweetness underneath all that puppy energy. (We could all take a cue on this attitude)  :-)   Ziggy is in good health and is up to date on wellness care, testing, preventatives, and vaccines.   He is looking for a home that will appreciate his enthusiasm for life while helping him continue to learn and mature. A youngish adopter that is 55 and younger might be just what this boy needs. We want him to have consistent boundaries, patience, play, and plenty of affection will go a long way with this boy.   Ziggy isn't looking for a perfect life — just a person who will enjoy his goofy antics, appreciate his affectionate nature, and give him the guidance he needs to grow into the wonderful little companion we know he can be.   If you're looking for a fun-loving little dog who will keep you smiling and happily be your partner in play, Ziggy might just be your guy. ❤️ Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested!!!

Story
Sleek, and handsome and a  personality that is full of excitement for learning and life, is what you find when you meet puppy Valor.  A male pup born on May 22nd to a Redbone Coonhound mix momma girl (very pretty too)  and he was part of a litter of a dozen pups.  Momma fed them well and the foster mom cared for them  equally as well.  This coal black boy with the fabulous long hound dog ears that glisten in the sun, will knock your socks off when you meet him.  Valor is full of zest and energy and an intelligence that is quickly obvious and fascinating. He sees every new situation as a challenge to be conquered. His puppy exuberance may mean that a home with really small children is not the best fit for him.  Older children could keep up and play more at his level and speed. Don't get us wrong.  Valor loves his lap time and when you hold him and rub his giant, velvety ears, he calms right down into a perfect gentleman.  We guess you could say that his 'button' to push are his ears! Destined to be a 50 pound adult dog this boy will be a stunning companion in looks and smarts as a dog to raise.  He will be easy.  If you are interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  He is ready now!!! Please let us know where you live when emailing us.

Story
Some Dogs Ask for Your Attention. Shaya Is Quietly Hoping for Your Heart.   Every rescue group has that one dog. The one everyone agrees is wonderful, but somehow keeps getting passed over because she isn't the first to greet strangers or demand attention. The one whose eyes tell a story that words never could. The one who simply needs someone willing to see beyond the first five minutes. For us, that dog is Shaya.   Almost two years ago, Shaya was just a puppy herself there in rural Mississippi.  At a very young age of about 9 months, she gave birth to a litter of puppies out in the woods of Mississippi and a rescue lady found them.  The puppies were accepted at the shelter but the momma dog was rejected.  They said to put her down.  The lady who rescued the family contacted Critter Cavalry Rescue and begged us to take her and her sister who also had puppies born at such a young age.  We did.  Shaya was the most shutdown and scared at the time.  Thankfully, our rescue had a different plan.   Since that day, Shaya has spent the past year learning something many dogs take for granted—that people can be gentle, hands can offer comfort instead of fear, and home can actually be a safe place.  Has she blossomed? Absolutely. Is she still a little shy? Yes.And honestly...after the life she's lived, who wouldn't be?   When Shaya meets someone new, she takes a moment to watch. She's simply trying to answer one question: 'Are you going to be kind to me?'   Once she realizes the answer is yes, something beautiful begins to happen. Her soft eyes brighten. Her tail starts to wag. She leans in for affection and quietly asks for the snuggles she's come to love. There isn't a demanding bone in her body. She simply wants to belong.   Shaya is happiest when life is peaceful. She loves long walks, where her confidence grows with every step beside someone she trusts. She adores other dogs and truly flourishes around them, which is why we know another friendly, confident dog in her forever home would help her continue to blossom. She is wonderful with cats, has never shown any aggression, and happily relaxes in her crate, which has always been her little place of comfort. She uses a doggie door, is about 95% house-trained, and even understands that pee pads are there if her family has to be away for longer periods.   She isn't difficult.  She isn't broken. She's simply a dog whose heart learned to be careful.  There is a special kind of person who reads biographies like this one. The person who doesn't ask, 'What can this dog do for me?' but instead wonders, 'What happened to her?' The person who understands that love isn't always loud. Sometimes it's quiet. Sometimes it's earned. Sometimes it arrives wrapped in patience, tiny victories, and the trust of a dog who finally believes she's safe.   Those are the people we're hoping will find Shaya.   She may never be the dog who rushes to greet every stranger, but she will become the dog who watches you with complete devotion, follows you from room to room, curls up beside you after a long day, and reminds you that the greatest relationships in life are often the ones worth waiting for.   Shaya is only about 40 pounds, but the heart she's looking for needs to be much bigger than that. She doesn't need someone to rescue her anymore. Rescue has already done that.   She needs someone willing to love a dog whose gratitude will last a lifetime.   If your heart has always belonged to the underdog...the overlooked one...the one who simply needs a chance...then perhaps you've been waiting for Shaya just as much as she's been waiting for you.   Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you'd like to give this extraordinary girl the forever home she has waited so patiently to find   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 18, 2026, 1:14 pm
