Story
Meet Dodgette, a gentle, mixed-breed sweetheart who’s about 8 months old and 27 pounds of pure affection. Dodgette was adopted in July, but her family heartbreakingly returned her when they realized they didn’t have the time she deserved. None of this was her fault, and now she’s back in the shelter feeling scared and confused, wondering where her people went. Sweet Dodgette is friendly with dogs, cats, and kids alike. This girl absolutely does not belong in a shelter- she’s far too loving, sensitive, and eager to bond. Once she feels safe, she blossoms into a loyal, cuddly companion who just wants to be included in someone’s life again. Dodgette is ready for a family who can give her consistency, affection, and the time she’s been missing. If you can offer her the home she deserves, apply for adoption today at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application from your laptop or computer. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet Peaches, a sweet and resilient 53-lb hound who has weathered more hardship than any dog should — yet her spirit remains gentle, hopeful, and full of love. We believe she’s a middle-aged girl who has known many litters and very little comfort, but despite everything, she’s ready to embrace a future where she can finally be cherished. Peaches was abandoned in Kentucky and left to survive outdoors, doing her best with only occasional human interaction. Because of that, many ordinary “house dog” skills are new to her — not because she’s unwilling, but because no one ever had the chance to teach her what it feels like to truly belong. Now safe in her foster home, she’s blossoming more every day, showing us just how much she wants to bond and thrive. Peaches gets along well with other dogs, especially calm, friendly ones, but she would do best in a home without small children — not out of aggression, but simply because she’s still learning healthy boundaries after a lifetime of uncertainty. She also feels safest pottying in a fenced yard rather than on walks, something common in dogs who haven’t lived indoors before. A secure yard allows her to settle in at her own pace. And when her humans leave, Peaches actually loves having a comfy crate of her own — it helps her feel protected and grounded as she builds trust that her people will always come back. Once in NJ, Peaches learned she needed treatment for heartworm, Lyme, and surgery for her ureter. Through it all, she remained so loving and brave, charming everyone at the vet with her quiet gratitude. Thankfully now she is healthy – a testament to her resilience. Peaches’ ideal adopters will be patient, gentle, and preferably experienced dog owners — people who understand that healing takes time and who find joy in helping a once-forgotten dog learn what it means to be safe and loved. If you feel a call to help a deserving soul finally experience security, compassion, and a true forever home, Peaches may be the perfect match for you. Please consider applying to adopt her at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. Peaches is so ready for her second chance — and she has so much love to give. If you are not in a position to adopt, consider donating so we can continue to provide medical care for dogs like Peaches that desperately need it.   If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Meet Gucci!  He’s set for the holidays, he just needs a home! This handsome Pittie mix is as loving and affectionate as they come. Gucci adores everyone he meets — people, dogs, and even cats. Gucci’s world was turned upside down when his owner sadly passed away, but his loving family is fostering him until he finds a new forever home. He’s well cared for, walks nicely on a leash, and is crate trained. He is gentle and never aggressive. Gucci is still working on being fully house-trained, but he’s making great progress. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion with a heart of gold, Gucci is ready to be your new best friend.
