Story
Meet Citrine, the 18-pound Chihuahua mix who is ready to bring a whole lot of love into your life! At just two years old, Citrine is a social sweetheart who has already proven to be a wonderful companion. She has spent her time living happily with three young children and gets along famously with other dogs, making her a fantastic choice for a family looking for a friendly, adaptable new member. Citrine is a girl who truly enjoys the best of both worlds. She has a perfect medium energy level, meaning she is always up for an adventure but is just as happy to be a couch potato. She is a total superstar on the leash and absolutely lives for her daily walks. You might notice her doing a cute little "reverse sneeze" when she gets extra excited or encounters some outdoor allergies, but that’s just part of her unique charm! When she’s not out exploring the neighborhood, you can usually find her playing with her favorite squeaky balls or snuggling up for some quality time with her favorite people. This smart girl is already well ahead of the curve when it comes to her manners. She is both house trained and crate trained, and she’s a very polite houseguest who knows the routine. While she is a little more of a "ladies' dog" at first, she warms up to everyone with just a little bit of time and patience. She’s also a fan of the good stuff, currently enjoying a Blue Buffalo diet to keep her coat shiny and her energy up! Citrine is fully spayed, heartworm negative, and completely up to date on all of her vaccinations. She’s a cozy traveler who feels most secure tucked into a kennel for car rides, making her a great passenger for your next trip. If you are looking for a gentle, fun-loving, and portable best friend, Citrine is the girl for you **Apply to adopt Citrine on our website: www.strongpawsrescue.org**

Story
SOS!! Cinnamon Sugar SOS - - she was only given 1 month of foster. Meet Cinnamon Sugar, a 2–3-year-old, 50-lb sweetheart who has spent far too long simply trying to survive after someone seemingly left her behind. Everything about Cinnamon tells us she was once someone’s dog. She is incredibly well-behaved, potty trained in the yard, wonderful on a leash, perfect in the car, and knows exactly how to live alongside people. At some point, the family she trusted disappeared, leaving this incredibly sweet girl to fend for herself. Cinnamon stayed around the same neighborhood, seemingly believing it was still her home. But life there became increasingly dangerous. Feral street pack dogs bullied and chased her, neighbors no longer wanted her around, and recently a loose dog even attacked her. Somehow, through all of it, Cinnamon remained gentle, trusting, and desperate for affection. Thankfully, one kind neighbor has offered Cinnamon a safe foster home — but only for one month. We now have a small window to find this deserving girl the forever family she has been waiting for. Cinnamon is spayed, vaccinated, 4DX negative, fully vetted, and up to date on preventatives. She loves other dogs, has lived peacefully around cats, and is truly the kind of easy, loving companion who just wants to belong. Cinnamon is currently in Puerto Rico, but she can be adopted anywhere in the U.S. Like all of our Puerto Rico rescues, we will arrange her flight off the island to her adoptive family, and her transport is included in her adoption fee. Someone may have abandoned Cinnamon once, but she never stopped believing in people. Now she has one month of safety while we find the person who will finally show her that this time, she is home forever.

Story
Chim Chim – The Snuggle Bug Meet Chim Chim, a 4-month-old, 14-lb tiny heartbreaker who somehow still believes people are wonderful — even after watching his own family leave him behind. Chim Chim was found on the side of the road desperately chasing after the people who had just dumped him. This tiny baby didn’t understand that they weren’t coming back. He just knew his family was driving away, and he ran after them trying to go home. Thankfully, someone else saw a little puppy who deserved so much better and stepped in. And Chim Chim truly is perfect in every way. He is incredibly loving, friendly with everyone he meets, and wonderful with both dogs and cats. He loves toys and has all the silly, playful energy of a happy puppy, but his absolute favorite place is in someone’s arms. Pick him up and he simply melts into you, perfectly content to be held and loved. At only 14 lbs, Chim Chim will be a medium sized boy with an enormous capacity for love. After chasing after a family who didn't choose him, he deserves one that will spend the rest of his life making sure he knows he will never be left behind again.

Story
Leroy — The Gentle Little Guy Meet Leroy, a 1-year-old, 13-lb sweetheart with a long little body, gentle spirit, and so much love to give. Leroy was found wandering the parking lot of a Home Depot in Puerto Rico, completely on his own. Surrounded by cars, strangers, and noise, this tiny boy was clearly not where he belonged. We don’t know how he ended up there, but thankfully someone noticed him before anything terrible could happen. And what a special little dog he turned out to be. Leroy is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and wonderful with other dogs. He has a soft, easygoing personality and just wants to be close to the people who make him feel loved. At only 13 lbs, with his adorable long body and little legs, Leroy is the perfect pint-sized companion. He survived being alone in a parking lot — now he’s ready for the soft bed, safe home, and forever family he should have had all along. Leroy is ready to be someone’s very best boy.

Story
Meet Thea — The Thankful At just 2 months old and 3 pounds, Thea was far too young to have already known fear and loneliness. She was found in Puerto Rico, hiding among the rocks at a beach with her sister — scared and shivering out of fright. They had no one to protect them. No one to keep them safe. No one to care if they would live another day. How could two tiny babies, who should have been playing, exploring, and snuggling in someone’s arms, have ended up alone and afraid? Thankfully, Thea and her sister were rescued and are now safe at a foster's home. And Thea seems to know just how lucky she is. She is sweet, affectionate, loving, and so thankful for every bit of attention she receives. There is something incredibly special about a little puppy who has known fear yet still has so much love to give. Thea wants and needs a loving, forever home. This precious girl deserves so much more than the beginning she was given. She deserves a family who will keep her safe, a soft place to sleep, endless cuddles, and the comfort of knowing she will never be alone and hungry again. Her story began with fear, but her future can be filled with love, happiness, and a forever family.
